ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound Chaiqin Xiaoyong Decoction (柴芩消痈饮, CXD) combined with Jinhuang Ointment (金黄膏, JO) in treating the nodular stage of acne mastitis of liver meridian heat accumulation type. MethodsA randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted. A total of 108 patients with liver meridian heat accumulation type acne mastitis in the nodular stage were randomly assigned to a treatment group and a control group, with 54 patients in each group. Both groups received topical application of JO once daily at a thickness of 3~5 mm for 8 hours, along with standard nursing care. On this basis, the treatment group received oral CXD granules, while the control group received placebo granules, administered twice daily, 3 sachets per dose, for 14 consecutive days. Clinical efficacy, TCM symptom scores, nodule size, visual analogue scale (VAS) pain scores, white blood cell (WBC) count, C-reactive protein (CRP) level, and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) were compared. At the end of treatment, efficacy and safety indicators were evaluated. A 6-month follow-up was conducted to compare the proportion of patients undergoing surgical treatment. ResultsThe total clinical efficacy rate in the treatment group was 90.38% (47/52), significantly higher than 32.00% (16/50) in the control group (P<0.01). The treatment group also showed significantly lower TCM symptom scores, VAS scores, nodule size, WBC count, CRP level, and SII (P<0.05 or P<0.01). During follow-up, the surgical intervention rate in the treatment group was 5.77% (3/52), lower than 14.00% (7/50) in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.01). No significant abnormalities were observed in safety indicators before and after treatment in either group. ConclusionCXD effectively reduces nodule size and alleviates symptoms such as redness and pain in patients with acne mastitis of liver meridian heat accumulation type, improves TCM symptom scores, enhances overall clinical efficacy, and demonstrates good safety.

Objective:
To investigate the impact of preschool children s aquatic motor skill (AMS) acquisition on their fundamental motor skill (FMS) development and the correlation between AMS and FMS development, so ao to provide a scientific basis for early childhood education and physical education teaching.
Methods:
From April to June 2024, 60 children, recruited by random sampling from a kindergarten in Taiyuan, were stratified randomly divided into an experimental group ( n =30) and a control group ( n =30). The experimental group were further divided into five classes of six each. They received AMS practice interventions twice weekly, 40 minutes per session, over eight weeks (16 sessions total) at a designated swimming center. The control group maintained their usual routine. Children s FMS and AMS were assessed pre and post intervention using the Test of Gross Motor Development-3rd (TGMD3) and Actual Aquatic Skills Test (AAST), respectively. Before and after test comparisons within and between groups employed t-tests, Wilcoxon signedrank tests, ANCOVA (including ranktransformed ANCOVA), and Cohen s d effect sizes were calculated for standardized mean differences. Spearman rank correlation was used to analyze relationships between FMS and AMS.
Results:
After the aquatic learning, the experimental group scored significantly higher than the control group on locomotor skills ( F=20.47, P <0.01, η 2=0.26), FMS ( F=4.59, P =0.04, η 2=0.08), and AMS ( F=109.71, P<0.01, η 2=0.79). The experimental groups improvement in locomotor skills 5.0(3.8, 7.3) versus the control group (2.8±2.5) yielded a medium effect size (Cohen s d =0.71); AMS gains in the experimental group [26.0(20.8, 28.0)] versus controls [1.0(0, 2.3)] showed a very large effect size (Cohen s d =4.73) (both P <0.01). Among preschool children, AMS acquisition was positively correlated with locomotor skills ( r =0.39) and overall FMS ( r =0.43)(both P <0.05). Skill specific assessments revealed lower proficiency in headfirst entry (immersion), treading water, and sagittalplane rotation.
Conclusion
Preschool children s acquisition of AMS has a positive effect on their FMS, with mutual facilitation between the two, especially in locomotor abilities.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(9):1282-1286
Objective:
To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and changing trends of non suicidal self injury (NSSI) behaviors among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, from 2015 to 2023, so as to provide a basis for the development of NSSI prevention and control measures among students.
Methods:
Using a stratified cluster random sampling method, a total of five times for Shanghai Adolescent Health Risk Behavior Surveys were conducted for every two years in Jiading District of Shanghai from 2015 to 2023. A total of 5 231 middle school students from junior high schools and senior high schools were selected for questionnaire surveys. Intergroup comparisons were performed using the x 2 test or the χ 2 trend test, and the JointPoint 5.0 software was used to analyze the changing trends, with the annual percent change (APC) used for evaluation. A binary Logistic regression model was employed to analyze the related factors of NSSI behavior among middle school students.
Results:
In 2023, the reported NSSI rate among middle school students in Jiading District was 14.2%. The rate was significantly higher among junior high school students (17.1%) than that among senior high school students (11.1%), and higher among females (19.2%) than that among males (10.0%) ( χ 2=10.04, 23.21, both P <0.01). From 2015 to 2023, the overall reported NSSI rate showed an increasing trend, rising from 8.6% in 2015 to 14.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =22.25), with an APC of 6.64% ( t =3.49), and the APC for girls was 9.79 % ( t =3.20) (all P <0.05). Among students reporting NSSI, the proportion experiencing ≥6 episodes increased from 10.8% in 2015 to 19.2% in 2023 ( χ 2 trend =6.57, P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that girls, junior high school students, those with insomnia, depressive emotion and drinkers had higher risks of NSSI, compared to boys, senior high school students, those without insomnia, non depressive emotion students and non drinkers ( OR =1.71, 1.96, 3.44, 4.76, 1.77, all P < 0.05 ).
Conclusions
The reported rate of NSSI among middle school students in Jiading District of Shanghai, increased annually from 2015 to 2023, and the proportion of repeated NSSI also showed an upward trend. Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2025;57(1):85-90
OBJECTIVE:
Dynamic navigation approaches are widely employed in the context of implant placement surgery. Implant surgery can be divided into immediate and delayed surgery according to the time of implantation. This retrospective study was developed to compare the accuracy of dynamic navigation system for immediate and delayed implantations.
METHODS:
In the study, medical records from all patients that had undergone implant surgery between August 2019 and June 2021 in the First Clinical Division of the Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology were retrospectively reviewed. There were 97 patients [53 males and 44 females, average age (47.14±11.99) years] and 97 implants (delayed group: 51; immediate group: 46) that met with study inclusion criteria and were included. Implant placement accuracy was measured by the superposition of the planned implant position in the preoperative cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) image and the actual implant position in the postoperative CBCT image. The 3-dimensional (3D) entry deviation (3D deviation in the coronal aspect of the alveolar ridge), 3D apex deviation (3D deviation in the apical area of the implant) and angular deviation were analyzed as the main observation index when comparing these two groups. The 2-dimensional (2D) horizontal deviation of the entry point and apex point, and the deviation of entry point depth and apex point depth were the secondary observation index.
RESULTS:
The overall implant restoration survival rate was 100%, and no mechanical or biological complications were reported. The implantation success rate was 100%. The 3D entry deviation, 3D apex deviation and angular deviation of all analyzed implants were (1.146±0.458) mm, (1.276±0.526) mm, 3.022°±1.566°, respectively; while in the delayed group these respective values were (1.157±0.478) mm, (1.285±0.481) mm and 2.936°±1.470° as compared with (1.134±0.440) mm, (1.265±0.780) mm, 3.117°±1.677° in the immediate group. No significant differences (P=0.809, P=0.850, P=0.575) in accuracy were observed when comparing these two groups.
CONCLUSION
Dynamic computer-assisted implant surgery system promotes accurate implantation, and both the immediate and delayed implantations exhibit similar levels of accuracy under dynamic navigation system that meets the clinical demands. Dynamic navigation system is feasible for immediate implantation.

Lumbar disc (LD) herniation and aging are prevalent conditions that can result in substantial morbidity. This study aimed to clarify the mechanisms connecting the LD aging and herniation, particularly focusing on cellular senescence and molecular alterations in the nucleus pulposus (NP). We performed a detailed analysis of NP samples from a diverse cohort, including individuals of varying ages and those with diagnosed LD herniation. Our methodology combined histological assessments with single-nucleus RNA sequencing to identify phenotypic and molecular changes related to NP aging and herniation. We discovered that cellular senescence and a decrease in nucleus pulposus progenitor cells (NPPCs) are central to both processes. Additionally, we found an age-related increase in NFAT1 expression that promotes NPPC senescence and contributes to both aging and herniation of LD. This research offers fresh insights into LD aging and its associated pathologies, potentially guiding the development of new therapeutic strategies to target the root causes of LD herniation and aging.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(5):727-731
Objective:
To study the impact of sleep characteristics on myopia, among lower primary school students in Shanghai, so as to provide foundation for the prevention of the onset and development of myopia.
Methods:
A total of 636 students from the first and second grades of two primary schools in Jiading District, Shanghai, were selected through cluster random sampling for questionnaire surveys and ophthalmological examinations in October 2022. The Childrens Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) was used to assess sleep quality at baseline. Ophthalmological examinations were conducted in October 2023(479), during which the students study time, screen time and outdoor activity time were monitored for twoweek, repeated twice. Generalized multivariable Logistic regression models and linear regression models were employed to examine the association between sleeprelated factors and myopia, as well as the strength of this association.
Results:
The baseline survey indicated a myopia prevalence of 18.58%, with 17.18% at followup. The average CSHQ total score was (51.58±4.44), and the average daily sleep duration was (9.43±4.84)h/d, with only 11.6% of participants meeting the recommended sleep sufficiency. Multivariable regression models indicated that insufficient sleep showed positive association with myopia (OR=1.64, 95%CI=1.05-2.56), while bedtime duration was significantly negative associated with myopia (OR=0.74, 95%CI=0.63-0.91, P<0.05), adjusting for confounding factors. Inconsistency in bed rest time was a risk factor for myopia (OR=1.07, P<0.05), and the consistency of bed rest time, and wakeup time showed statistically significant correlations with SE (P<0.05). There was also statistically significant correlations between consistency in sleep time, bed rest time, and wakeup time with AL (P<0.05).
Conclusions
Insufficient sleep and bedtime duration are correlated with the onset and progression of myopia. It is critical to ensure sufficient sleep duration and regular sleep habits for children to reduce the occurrence of myopia in the primary school students.

Objective:To test the hypothesis that Pertussis toxin (PTX) can promote the occurrence of interstitial lung disease (ILD) in experimental autoimmune myositis (EAM) model and clarify the potential pathogenic mechanism. Methods:EAM mice model were induced by Skeletal muscle thomogenate with or without PTX, and the relationship between ILD phenotypes and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) infiltration was analyzed by histopathological and serological studies in EAM with PTX group and EAM without PTX group. Healthy mice were given PTX alone intraperitoneally to clarify whether NETs formation could be induced in vivo, and neutrophils separated from healthy human blood were intervened with PTX to induce NETs formation in vitro. The data was tested for normality using Shapiro-Wilk. Statistical methods and were analyzed using t-test or ANOVA, and multiple comparisons between different groups were tested using Tukey test. Results:Compared with EAM without PTX group, lung tissues in EAM with PTX group had multiple pathological changes similar to polymyositis/dermatomyositis-related ILD. Nonspecific interstitial pneumonia and usual interstitial pneumonia were the main pathological types. The pulmonary interstitial lesions were accompanied by significant infiltration of NETs; and serum NETs markers levels were obviously elevated in EAM with PTX group, compared with the control group [ n=5, (87±10) ng/ml], cfDNA levels were statistically significantly elevated in both the EAM without PTX group [ n=4, (115±27) ng/ml] and the EAM with PTX group [ n=7, (150±50) ng/ml] ( F=4.24, P=0.038); Cit-H3-DNA levels were elevated in the EAM without PTX group ( n=4, 0.24±0.09), and in the EAM EAM with PTX group ( n=6, 0.33±0.11) compared with the control group ( n=4, 0.13±0.02) ( F=6.21, P=0.016). After PTX intervention, serum cfDNA levels were higher in the PTX group [ n=3, (100±40) ng/ml] than in the control group [ n=3, (45±12) ng/ml, t=2.27, P=0.086]; PTX also induced neutrophils to form NETs in vitro. Conclusion:PTX may promote the development of ILD in EAM mice model by inducing the formation of NETs, indicating that EAM mice can serve as a model for targeting NETs to study the pathogenesis ILD.
