Objective To establish a HPLC method for the determination of emodin in Niuhuang anti-inflammatory tablets. Method Thermo-Hypersil C18 (250 mm?4.6 mm, 5 ?m) was used, mobile phase was methanol-0.1% phosphoric acid (70∶30), with flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, detection wavelength of 254 nm, and column temperature was 40 ℃. Results There was a good linear relationship of emodin at the range of 0.020 11~0.402 2 ?g. Conclusion The method is simple, accurate, with better separation efficiency, wide linear range and high sensitivity. It can be used for quality control of the preparation.
7. The protective effects of oxymatrine against adriamycin-induced cardiotoxicity in rabbits
Tumor 2007;27(6):441-444
Objective: To observe the protective effect of oxymatrine (OMT) against chronic cardiotoxicity induced by adriamycin (ADR). Methods: Twenty six rabbits were randomly devided into four groups. The ADR group (n = 8) were injected with ADR (2 mg/kg) via auricular vein once a week for 8 weeks to induce chronic heart injury. The ADR + OMT group (n = 8) received intraveneous injection of OMT 10 mg/kg at 30 min before administration of ADR. The normal saline group (n = 5) received the same volume of 0.9% saline alone and the OMT group (n =5) received intraveneous injection of OMT alone. Before administration and 3 weeks after drug therapy, a catheter was advanced through left carotid artery and left ventricle to measure heart rate(HR), left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP), left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP), and left ventricular injection fraction (LVEF). The serum was collected for determination of the activities of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase isoenzyme MB (CK-MB). The myocardial ultrastructure changes were observed by electron microscropy at 3 weeks after drug therapy. Results: Compared with ADR + OMT group, both LVSP and LVEF in ADR group were signi-ficantly decreased, but LVEDP and the activities of LDH and CK-MB were significantly increased. The difference between the two groups was significant. Pathological examination demonstrated the more severer damage of the myocardial ultrastructure in ADR group than ADR + OMT group. No adverse reaction and pathological changes were observed in OMT group. Conclusion: Oxymatrine protects heart against adriamycin-induced injury in rabbits.
8.Blood biomarkers for breast cancer screening and early diagnosis
Journal of International Oncology 2021;48(2):109-112
Breast cancer screening is an economical, effective, and simple screening measure for asymptomatic people to achieve the goals of early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Existing screening methods are mainly based on breast cancer X-rays and ultrasound, which are less sensitive to early lesions and cannot assess the risk of breast cancer in asymptomatic people. Breast cancer susceptibility genes, DNA methylation, microRNAs and circulating tumor cells, as blood biomarkers for breast cancer screening and early diagnosis, can identify high-risk breast cancer populations and improve the early diagnosis rate of breast cancer.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(10):939-941
Rotator cuff tears are common shoulder injuries.Because of the advantages of less injury and quick rehabilitation, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair becomes one of the major methods to treat the rotator cuff tears.Postoperative rehabilitation is also as important as the operation of rotator cuff repair.
10. The relationship between NDRG-1 gene expression and the progression and metastasis of uterine cervical squamous cell carcinoma
Tumor 2008;28(3):238-241
Objective:To investigate the relationship between N-myc downstream-regulated gene-1 (NDRG-1) gene expression and the progression and metastasis of uterine cervical squamous cell carcinoma (UCSCC). Methods: NDRG-1 protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 42 cases of UCSCC, 30 cases of high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL), 28 cases of low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL), and 20 cases of normal squamous epithelium. NDRG-1 mRNA was detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in 10 cases of UCSCC and 10 cases of normal squamous epithelium. Results: The expressions of NDRG-1 mRNA and protein in UCSCC were significantly lower than normal squamous epithelium tissues (P < 0.01). From normal squamous epithelium to LSIL, HSIL and UCSCC, NDRG1 protein was gradually decreased during tumor carcinogenesis. The difference was significant (P < 0.01). NDRG-1 mRNA and protein in metastatic UCSCC were obviously lower than non metastatic UCSCC (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Down-regulation of NDRG1 mRNA and protein in UCSCC indicate that NDRG1 gene might correlate with carcinogenesis, progression, and metastasis of cervical squamous carcinoma.
