Different doses of ~(90)Y glass microspheres weres injected into the livers of rabbits under ultrasound guidance to observe the distribution of isotope in the body and the histologic alteration in the liver. The result showed that the isotope microspheres were only limited at the injected areas. The areas o.f bremsstrahlung ranged 4.1~12.55cm~2(mean 8.45cm~2). Whole body scanning revealed that the isotope was not observed outside the liver and no injury of non-target organ was present. When the dose was 35 mci, complete necrosis appeared in the hepatic cells within the bremsstrahlung areas. The study indicales that intrahepatic injection of ~(90)Y glass microspheres is accurmuate in locallization, produces high local iradiation energy and may become a non-surgical way for treating carcinoma of liver.

Objective To study the relation between the HPV6/18 virus infection and the development of pathological changes of cervix. Methods The number of HPV16/18 DNA copies and the expression rate of HPV16/18 E7 mRNA in the pathological cervix were examined by the quantitative fluorescent PCR combined with pathological diagnosis and immunohistochemistry staining. Results The HPV16 infection rates in chronic cervicitis group were much lower (7.4%) than that in the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) groups and the cervical cancer group (69.6% and 72.7%), respectively. Statistical analysis showed that the difference of HPV16 DNA copies was not significant between the chronic cervicitis group and CIN groups. In contrast to the above mentioned result, the number of HPV DNA copies between the CIN groups and the cervical cancer group was significantly different. The HPV16 E7 gene expression rates in CIN Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and cervical cancer groups were 0,37.5%,42.9%,63.6%, respectively. Conclusion Ins more common than that with HPV18. The number of HPV16 DNA copies in cervical cancer tissues is markedly higher than that in CIN Ⅱ, Ⅲ groups. The HPV16 E7 mRNA expression is significantly increased in the cervical cancer, and it is more closely correlated to this pathological changes. The quantitative fluorescent PCR can be used to reflect the activity of HPV, and it is a useful method for the screening examination of HPV and for the early diagnosis and treatment of cervical caner.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2014;30(3):331-340
Zinc-finger proteins have been widely studied due to their highly conserved structures and DNA-binding specificity of zinc-finger domains. However, researches on the zinc-finger proteins from microorganisms, especially those from prokaryotes, are still very limited. This review focuses on the latest progress on microbial zinc-finger proteins, especially those from prokaryotes and the application of artificial zinc-finger proteins in the breeding of robust strains. Artificial zinc-finger proteins with transcriptional activation or repression domain can regulate the global gene transcription of microbial cells to acquire improved phenotypes, such as stress tolerance to heat, ethanol, butanol, and osmotic pressure. Using the zinc-finger domain as DNA scaffold in the construction of enzymatic system can enhance the catalytic efficiency and subsequently the production of specific metabolites. Currently, zinc-finger domains used in the construction of artificial transcription factor are usually isolated from mammalian cells. In the near future, novel transcription factors can be designed for strain development based on the natural zinc-finger domains from different microbes, which may be used to regulate the global gene expression of microbial cells more efficiently.

It is extremely necessary and important for colleges or universities to transform the education concepts that barricade students' initiative and creativity, especially the one that takes fi-nal examinations as sole standard to evaluate teaching and learning effects. In order to display and cultivate students' study ability more comprehensively, we manage to establish a set of formative eval-uation system for regional anatomy course , which involves tests and examinations and evaluations throughout the whole teaching and learning process. It solves the long-lasting problem that examina-tions are final purposes of teaching and learning, and thus, teaching values not only results but also learning process, which directs students' attention to conventional studies and helps develop good study habits, greatly reducing the randomness of final academic performances. The diverse assessment methods, along with accumulated assessment results, can improve students' learning effects through-out the whole semester. The fundamental purpose of this system is to inspire students' passion for study and creativity and monitor the teaching process.

Purpose To evaluate the correlations between high resolution CT (HRCT) findings and IASLC/ATS/ERS pathological classification of ground glass nodule (GGN). Materials and Methods 121 patients with confirmed GGN were selected, and divided into benign group (22 cases), PIL group (21 cases), microinvasive carcinoma group (26 cases) and invasive carcinoma group (52 cases), then the imaging, pathology and prognosis data of patients with pulmonary GGN were reviewed, and the differences among GGN of different pathological types were analyzed. Results Maximum diameter, margin, vacuole sign, solid component, shape and blood vessels through of GGN were significantly different among the four groups (χ2=9.945-31.068,P<0.05). Maximum diameter and margin were significantly different between invasive adenocarcinoma and other groups (P<0.008); vacuole sign of the benign group was significantly different with other groups (P<0.008); the existence of solid component and shape were significantly different between invasive adenocarcinoma and minimally invasive adenocarcinoma (P<0.008); there was significant difference of blood vessels through between invasive adenocarcinoma and benign lesions (P<0.008). Among the 121 lesions, no metastasis except one invasive adenocarcinoma case complicated with distant metastasis. Conclusion Maximum diameter of GGN greater than 16.35 mm, with spiculation or lobulation represent invasive adenocarcinoma; vacuole sign within the GGN represent malignancy; with solid component and irregular shape can be used to identify invasive adenocarcinoma from minimally invasive adenocarcinoma; while blood vessels through can be used to identify invasive adenocarcinoma from benign lesions; the prognosis of GGNs is well with only 0.83% probability of distant metastasis.
