Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;28(4):421-424
Objective: To study the effect of different transdermal penetration enhancers on the skin permeation ability of indomethacin and salbutamol in vitro. Methods: Valia-Chien diffusion cell was adopted as the apparatus for in vitro skin permeation test. Excised SD-rat abdomen skin was pretreated with penetration enhancers including Azone, Propylene glycol, N-methylpyrrolidone, oleic acid, peppermint oil, and a combination of Azone and Propylene glycol. A UV method was established to determine the contents of indomethacin and salbutamol in receiver diffusion cells. Results: Compared with blank control group, all the enhancers showed significant enhancement effect on the permeability of indomethacin and salbutamol except for propylene glycol (P < 0.01). Azone combined with propylene glycol showed the greatest ability to enhance the flux of indomethacin(125.91 μg · cm-2 · h-1) and salbutamol(155.94 μg · cm-2 · h-1). Conclusion: Azone combined with Propylene glycol, Azone, N-methylpyrrolidone, Oleic acid, and Peppermint oil can be used as penetration enhancers in the transdermal preparation of compound indomethacin.
4. Protective effect of gastrodin preconditioning against myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury in rats
Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 2012;47(23):1905-1910
OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of gastrodin preconditioning on the myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI) in rats and to study the mechanism. METHODS: SD rats were randomized into six groups including sham group, NS group, gastrodin groups of low middle and high concentrations and verapamil group. The rats were treated with gastrodin via intragastric administration for one week. Then the rats were treated by closing the left anterior descending coronary artery for 30 min and then releasing it for 2 h under anesthesia. The changes of the arrhythmia, myocardial histological structure and serological tests including SOD, LDH, CK-MB and MDA were examined. Furthermore, the effect of gastrodin on store-operated Ca2+ influx was also investigated. RESULTS: It was found that gastrodin significantly enhanced SOD production and suppressed the incidences of arrhythmia and LDH, CK-MB and MDA concentrations. Additionally, gastrodin inhibited store-operated Ca2+ influx. CONCLUSION: Gastrodin has protective effect on myocardium against ischemia reperfusion injury in rats through several pathways including cleaning oxygen radicals and reducing the overload of Ca2+.
5.Clinical study on acupuncture plus auricular point sticking for tension-type headache
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2021;19(1):49-55
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point sticking for tension-type headache (TTH). Methods: A total of 90 TTH patients were divided into an acupuncture group, an auricular point sticking group and an observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group received acupuncture plus auricular point sticking for treatment, while those in the acupuncture group only received acupuncture and those in the auricular point sticking group only received auricular point sticking for treatment. The headache attack frequency and the scores of visual analog scale (VAS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were observed before treatment, after treatment and 3 months after treatment. The clinical efficacy was evaluated at the follow-up of 3 months after treatment. Results: At follow-up, there were significant differences in clinical efficacy among the three groups (P<0.01 or P<0.05), and the clinical efficacy ranking from high to low was the observation group, the acupuncture group and the auricular point sticking group. After treatment and at follow-up, the VAS score, headache attack frequency, SAS and SDS scores in the three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (all P<0.01). The above four results in the observation group were lower than those in the acupuncture group and the auricular point sticking group at the same time point (all P<0.01); VAS score in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the auricular point sticking group (both P<0.05). At follow-up, the headache frequency in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the auricular point sticking group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Either using acupuncture and auricular point sticking together or separately can reduce the headache degree of TTH patients, reduce the number of headache attacks, and relieve anxiety and depression. The efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point sticking is most significant.

10.Research progress on Caveolin-1 in pancreatic cancer
International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(11):770-774
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death, with a 5- year survival rate of less than 5%.The management and prognosis of the patients have remained dismal due to higher resistance of cancer cells to conventional approaches including surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Therefore, there is a need for development of specific and sensitive tumor marker for pancreatic cancer.Caveolin- 1 is an essential constituent of caveolae and interacts with a variety of cellular proteins and regulates cell- signaling events. In this review,we survey the functional roles of caveolin- 1 in pancreatic cancer and argue that caveolin-1 regulates multiple cancer-associated processes including tumor growth, cell invasion, metastasis, cell apeptosis.However,Caveolin-1 has been reported to impact both positively and negatively on various aspects of pancreatic cancer progression. The function of caveolin- 1 is interdependent on tumor stage and the expression of some signaling pathways that impact on its role during tumor progression.
