In order to assess colonic motility of chronic constipation, colonic transit test was carried out in 34 patients with chronic constipation and in 20 healthy subjects. 20 radiopaque markers are ingested at 8 am before the day test, and plain abdominal films were obtained at 24 h, 48 h and 72 h. The normal value of colonic transit test was 16(80%), or more markers passed after 72 h. By means of transit time study, 34 constipated patients were classified into 2 groups: 12 normal transit patients and 22 slow transit patients. There was no difference in colonic transit time between normal transit patients and controls (P>0.05). Patients with slow transit had more markers left in right colon, left colon and rectosigmoid colon at 48 h (P<0.01, respectively) and 72 h (P<0.01, respectively). According to the transit index, 22 slow transit patients were divided into 3 types: 10 cases colonic stasis, 8 cases outlet obstruction and 4 cases colorectal stasis. The study suggests that chronic constipated patients have abnormalbilities of colonic transit.

4.WIF-1 and the diagnose and treatment of lung cancer
International Journal of Surgery 2013;40(12):835-837
Wingless type protein (Wnt protein) is a group of protein which plays an important role in the process of animal growth and hemopoiesis, the signaling pathway they conducted was called Wnt signaling pathway, and its abnormal activation can lead to many tumors, include lung caner. As a tumor suppressor gene,WIF-1 can restrain the activation of Wnt signaling pathway, which can avoid lung cancer.WIF-l's methylation can downregulate the expression of WIF-1,which can activate Wnt signaling pathway and cause lung cancer. So the detection of WIF-1's methylation may contribute to clinical diagnose of lung cancer, and therapy of WIF-1 's methylation may be one of the treatment metheds of lung cancer.

Objective To explore the causes and management of delayed un ion and non-union of long bone fracture of the leg. Methods 13 cases of delayed union and non-union of long bone fracture of the leg were treated with interlo cking intramedullary nails. 2 cases were given close implanting, and 11 cases we re managed with open reduction, of whom 9 were also grafted with autogenous bone . All patients were given early static interlocking, and 4 cases were given late dynamic interlocking. Results X-rays and follow-up showed that all patients h ealed up after an average of 14.5 months. Conclusions Interlocking intramedullary nails are a satisfactory method to treat delayed union and non-union of long b one fracture of the leg. The key points of the operation are reaming, selecting suitable nails and dynamic interlocking when necessary.

Study the immunological adjuvant function of biodegradable microspheres for DNA immunization. Empty poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolic acid) microspheres were prepared using the water-inoil-in-water(w-o-w)technique; A plasmid DNA pRc-CMV encoding hepatitis B virus S antigen was constructed; The mixture of the microspheres and the plasmid DNA was prepared by incubation method. The mixture was administered to Balb/c mice by intramuscular injection. Result: The high antibody titer (1:1600) of intramuscular injection of the mixture of microspheres and the plasmid DNA was obtained, similar to that of intramuscular injection of the mixture of AL(OH)3 and hepatitis B virus S antigen; while intramuscular injection the plasmid DNA elicited no serum antibody respones. Conclusion: biodegradable microspheres may be used as an good adjuvant for DNA immunization.

Objective To investigate the protective role of dexmedetomidine in rats with endotoxin-induced acute lung injury (ALI).Methods Forty-eight adult male SD rats were divided into four groups (n=12 each) according to the random number table: control group, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) group, dexmedetomidine (DEX) treatment group and DEX pretreatment group.ALI was induced in rats by femoral intravenous injection of LPS (8 mg/kg).Rats in DEX treatment group was given DEX (50 μg/kg) for 2 minutes via the femoral intravenous injection 0.5 hour after LPS injection, followed by maintenance pump injection of DEX (5 μg·kg-1·h-1).Analogously, rats in DEX pretreatment group was given DEX (50 μg/kg) for 2 min via the femoral intravenous injection 0.5 hour before LPS injection, followed by maintenance pump injection of DEX (5 μg·kg-1·h-1).By contrast, control group received the same amount of normal saline intravenously. All rats were sentenced to death and their carotid blood samples were collected6 hours after all injections.Superior lobe of the right lung was examined under light microscope and the histologic findings were tested using the difusse alveolar damage (DAD) score.Middle lobe of the right lung was used to calculate the lung tissue wet/dry weight (W/D) ratio.Samples of collected carotid blood were taken to measure levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6.Bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) obtained from bronchoalveolar lavage was collected to measure levels of TNF-α and IL-6.Results Lung tissue injury was obvious after LPS injection and DAS score was improved as well. However DEX therapy reduced the lung damage as well as the DAD score, especially obvious in DEX pretreatment group (P<0.05).W/D ratio was obviously increased in other three groups compared to control group, but further comparison showed that W/D ratio was lowered in DEX treatment and pretreatment groups compared to LPS group, especially obvious in DEX pretreatment group (P<0.05).Levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were higher in other three groups than control group, but further comparison showed that levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were decreased in DEX treatment and pretreatment groups compared to LPS group, especially obvious in DEX pretreatment group (P<0.05).Levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in BALF were higher in LPS and DEX treatment groups than control group and were higher in LPS group than DEX treatment(P<0.05).Further comparison showed level of TNF-α in BALF similar between DEX treatment and pretreatment groups (P>0.05), but IL-6 in BALF was significantly lower in DEX pretreatment group than DEX treatment group (P<0.05).Level of total protein in BALF was increased in LPS group compared to control group and was decreased in DEX treatment and pretreatment groups compared to LPS group, but there were no significant differences between DEX treatment and pretreatment groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Either preoperative injection of DEX or DEX treatment has protective effect in rats with LPS-induced ALI, while preoperative injection of DEX has been proved to be more effective.
