The paper sums up experience in offering medical assistance to earthquake and tsunami victims in Algeria,Iran and Indonesia and discusses ways of strengthening cooperation between various rescuing teams and enhancing the efficiency and level of medical assistance, including exchanging medical assistance information in a timely and fast manner, jointly setting up emergency care stations in areas that could make use of the functions of the field hospitals, jointly conducting sanitation and anti-epidemic activities, resuming the treatment functions of clinics,grass-roots hospitals and large hospitals, and training medical workers.By strengthening cooperation between various international rescue teams,it is possible to bring into full play the advantages of each team, effectively use medical resources, and speed up the reconstruction of the medical systems in the disaster-stricken areas.

High cell density culture of Lactobacillus plantaru is a significant step of the preparation of lactic acid bacteria starter.Firstly, this experiment is designed to analyze the effects of different dissolved oxygen and pH on the batch fermentation of Lactobacillus plantarum. And then,on the base of the batch fermentation,fed-batch fermentation was studied, companied by chemic neutralization in the experiment to achieve the aim of high cell density cultivation. Finally,in the comparison of two kinds of feeding mode for fed-batch operation in 10L fermentor,it was demonstrated that two kinds of feeding mode made cell concentration increase differently,in which pH feedback feeding can control sucrose concentration within a certain lower range, therefore obtaining the maximum cell concentration. With the pH feedback feeding, the dry cell weight was up to 13.56g/L,which increased 90.05% over that of batch culture.

Objective To evaluate the role of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 ( SOCS3) in the spinal cord of chronic sciatic constriction injury ( CCI) mice. Methods Part one:four Kunming mice were selected to receive the CCI operation by sciatic nerve ligation. Seven days after operation the mice were sac-rificed and L4~6 segments of the spinal cord were removed. The co-expression of SOCS3 with NeuN ( for neurons),GFAP (for astrocytes),or IBA1 (for microglia) in spinal were detected by immunohistofluores-cence. Part two:thirty-two Kunming mice were divided into 4 groups according to random number table:sham operation group (group SH),CCI group (group BP),CCI+Lenti-SOCS3 group (group BS),CCI +Lenti-vector group (group BV). Group BS were intrathcal injected of Lenti-SOCS3 (2 μl) and group BV were intrathcal injected of Lenti-vector (2 μl) on 7 d,8 d,9 d after operation. Paw withdrawal latency ( PWL) and paw withdrawal threshold ( PWT) were measured at 1 d before operation and 5,7,10,12,14 d after operation. Mice were then sacrificed and L4~6 segments of the spinal cord were removed for determina-tion of GFAP,IBA-1 by Western blot and IL-6,IL-1β,TNF-α by Elisa on 14 d. Results SOCS3 was dis-tributed in dorsal horn, and expressed in astrocytes and microglia, but hardly colocalized with neurons. Com-pared with group SH,the PWL and PWT of group BP and BV were significantly decreased after operation (all P<0. 05),and the expression of GFAP,IBA-1,IL-6,IL-1β and TNF-α was significantly increased (all P<0. 05). Compared with group BV,the PWL (5. 1±0. 9,7. 5±0. 8,7. 2±1. 4) and PWT (6. 1±1. 4,8. 9± 1. 1,8. 2±2. 1) of group BS was significantly increased on 10,12,14 d (all P<0. 05),and the expression of GFAP (1. 69±0. 45),IBA-1(1. 76±0. 25),IL-6 (181±8),IL-1β (151±7),TNF-α (216±9) was signifi-cantly downregulated (P<0. 05) . Conclusion SOCS3 alleviates neuropathic pain by inhibiting the glial ac-tivation and the expression of proinflammatory cytokines IL-6,IL-1β,TNF-α.

Objective:To investigate the impact of elevated glucose-induced RNA oxidation on pancreatic β-cell function, activity, and underlying molecular mechanisms. Methods:Rat pancreatic islet β-cell tumour INS-1 cells were cultured in vitro and subjected to nucleic acid oxidation assessment using isotope dilution ultra-high performance liquid tandem mass spectrometry(ID LC MS/MS)following high glucose exposure. In vitro simulation of increased RNA oxidation in INS-1 cells was achieved using 8-oxoguanosine-5'-triphosphate(8-oxoGTP).Cell proliferation was evaluated through CCK-8 assay, apoptosis was measured via flow cytometry, and gene expression of insulin(INS), pancreatic-duodenal homologous cassette 1(PDX1), cysteine-aspartate proteinase 3(Casp3), and cysteine aspartate protease 6(Casp6)was analyzed at the mRNA level.Additionally, whole transcriptome sequencing was performed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the impact of RNA oxidation on INS-1 cells. Results:Elevated glucose levels induced an increase in RNA oxidation within INS-1 cells. This heightened RNA oxidation led to the inhibition of INS-1 cell proliferation, a reduction in mRNA levels of INS and PDX1 genes, and the promotion of apoptosis-related casp3 and casp6 gene mRNA synthesis.Transcriptome sequencing analysis unveiled that the elevated RNA oxidation caused differential expression of mRNA, lncRNA, miRNA, and circRNA in INS-1 cells. This included a significant down-regulation of transcription factors such as Mafa, Pdx1, Pax6, and Mnx1, alongside an up-regulation of various miRNAs like rno-miR-124-3p, rno-miR-133a-3p, rno-miR-3120, rno-miR-212-3p, and rno-miR-7a-2-3p.These molecular changes contributed to the altered expression of associated lncRNAs, ultimately hindering insulin synthesis and secretion, as well as β-cell proliferation. Conclusions:Increased RNA oxidation down-regulates the levels of key β-cell transcription factor mRNAs, contributes to the differential expression of related non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs), particularly lncRNAs, impacts β-cell insulin synthesis and secretion, hinders cell proliferation, and serves as a significant factor in β-cell dysfunction and decreased activity in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).

Nasal cancer has not been included in the current list of legal occupational diseases in China. There is also a lack of systematic and in-depth study on the relationship between nasal cancer and occupational exposure factors in China. In September 2018, the department for work and pensions of UK released the latest edition of the "List of diseases covered by industrial injuries disablement benefit", which lists nasal cancer and nasopharyngeal carcinoma associated with wood dust exposure on the UK's occupational disease list. In order to better protect the health of workers, the relationship between occupational wood dust exposure and nasal cancer is reviewed, which provides a reference for further revision and improvement of occupational disease catalogue.
