Objective To investigate the expression of glutamine synthetase ( GS ) in prostate cancer and the utility of 13 N?NH3 PET/CT in detecting prostate cancer. Methods The uptake ratio of 13 N?NH3 and the expression of GS in PC3 and DU145 cells were measured by Western blot and PCR methods. A total of 34 patients with suspected prostate cancer underwent 13 N?NH3 PET/CT imaging and prostate biopsy. Immunohistochemistry staining of GS was performed and Gleason scores of tumors were evaluated. One?way analysis of variance, the least significant difference?t test and Spearman correlation analysis were used to an?alyze data. Results The uptake of 13 N?ammonia in PC3 and DU145 cells elevated along with the decrease of glutamine in medium. The expression of GS mRNA and protein also increased when glutamine was de?creased. In biopsy samples, the mean GS expression scores of prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostatitis were 7.76±2.57, 3.98±2.60, 3.34±0.36, respectively (F=36.85, t1=7.97, t2=4?45, all P<0.05), which had a weak correlation with Gleason scores (rs=0.52, P<0.05). In 34 patients, the mean SUVmax of prostate cancer segments (1.56±0.58 and 1.14±0.22;F=5.966, t1=2.63, t2=2.65, all P<0.05). There was a weak correlation between GS expression scores and the uptake of 13 N?ammonia in prostate cancer (rs=0.47, P<0.05). Conclusions Up?regulated expression of GS is common in prostate cancer cells. GS is the main reason for the uptake of 13 N?ammonia, which is a useful tracer for prostate cancer imaging.

Atherosclerosis is the common basic pathophysiology progresses of acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Atherosclerotic plaque rupture and consequently thrombosis are the major cause of mobility and mortality in atherosclerosis, and treatment aimed at stabilizing vulnerable plaques is of great clinical importance. However, an ideal drug for stabilizing vulnerable plaques is still lacking. Although Statins are considered as the most potent drugs for stabilizing plaques, their side effects are serious. Traditional Chinese medicine have multi-targets and less side effect, it might be the potential candidate for atherosclerosis treatment. This article reviewed the latest progresses on the stabilizing vulnerable plaques treatments.

Objective To compare the difference of cutpoint and clinical significance of HbA1C for the diagnosis of abnormal glucose metabolism in two population groups with different ages. Methods According to oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT),the cutpoint and clinical significance of HbA1C for the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and impaired glucose regulation(IGR)were investigated in the two population groups. Results The mean HbA1C of 1 064 young subjects in an academy and 1 671 aged subjects in a community were 5.31% ±0.41% and 5.79% ±0.71%,respectively.The cutpoints of HbA1C for diagnosis of diabetes were 5.7%(specificity 86.7%,sensitivity 66.7%)and 5.9%(specificity 73.8%,sensitivity 80.1%)in the two population groups, and 5.6% for diagnosis of IGR (specificity 82.8%,sensitivity 55.8%)and 5.7%(specificity 60.9%,sensitivity 64.3%),respectively.87.8%,78.7%,and 38.5% were diagnosed diabetes by current OGTT criteria at HbA1C levels of ≥5.7%,≥5.9%,and≥6.5%,IGR being 61.6%,39.6%,and 4.1%,and normal glucose tolerance being 24.4%,10.0%,and 0.4%.Conclusion The cutpoints of HbA1C for diagnosis of diabetes and IGR are different in populations with different ages and HbA1C levels. As one of diagnostic criteria for diabetes,HbA1C 6.5% with relatively higher specificity and lower sensitivity must be combined with fasting blood glucose, random blood glucose, and OGTT.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(2):229-232
Objective:
The study aimed to explore the relationship between childhood maltreatment (CM) and the Big Five personality traits of middle school students, so as to provide scientific evidence for promoting the healthy development of middle school students personality.
Methods:
A total of 5 724 middle school students from Xuancheng, Hefei and Huaibei of Anhui Province were selected by using a multi stage stratified cluster sampling method to conduct a questionnaire survey, including demographic characteristics, CM experience and Big Five personality traits. Linear regression analysis and canonical correlation analysis were used to explore the associations between CM and the Big Five personality traits.
Results:
Physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical neglect, and emotional neglect of middle school students were significantly associated with conscientiousness ( β = -1.71 --2.55) and neuroticism ( β =1.93-3.87) personality traits( P <0.05). Except physical abuse, all other types of CM were significantly associated with extraversion ( β =-1.04--2.32) and agreeableness ( β =-1.07--1.37) personality traits( P <0.05), and only sexual abuse was associated with openness personality trait( β=-0.70, P <0.05). Except for openness personality trait, the relationship between the number of CM experience and the personality traits of middle school students was statistically significant; there was a dose response relationship between the number of CM experiences and the scores of personality traits each dimension( P < 0.05). In the canonical correlation analysis, the canonical correlation coefficient was -0.375( P <0.05). CM experiences were mainly reflected by emotional abuse, emotional neglect and physical neglect (canonical load coefficient was 0.556-0.951). The Big Five personality traits were mainly reflected by neuroticism, conscientiousness and extraversion (canonical load coefficient was -0.702 -0.639).
Conclusion
There is a correlation between CM and the personality traits of middle school students, and prevention of CM is of great significance for promoting the healthy development of middle school students personality.

Objective:
To make etiological diagnosis and evaluate the protective effects of post-exposure prophylaxis(PEP) in an event of one dog injured seven persons.
Methods:
Direct immunofluorescence assay (DFA) and nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were employed to detect nucleoprotein and nucleoprotein(N) gene of rabies virus in the brain tissues of the dog, the positive samples were sequenced for the full length of N gene of rabies virus, then the homology of the N gene of rabies virus was analyzed after the phylogenetic tree was constructed. Rapid fluorescent focus inhibition test (RFFIT) was applied to detect the rabies virus neutralizing antibodies(RVNA) on day 0, 14 and 40 after PEP.
Results:
The cerebral, cerebellar and hippocampal tissues were positive by DFA and nested PCR. The phylogenetic tree indicated the rabies virus belonged to the rabies virus genotype I. The homology of the nucleotide and amino acid of the rabies virus N gene were over 86% with the vaccine strains. The titer of the RVNA increased significantly from the day 0 to day 14 after PEP, the lowest was 5.78 IU/ml and the highest was 26.15 IU/ml. On the day 40, the highest RVNA titer was 51.96 IU/ml. No rabies cases occurred in a one year follow-up visit.
Conclusions
Normative PEP can effectively prevent the occurrence of rabies cases.
