Colorectal cancer is the third high incidence of tumor in the world, and liver is one of the most common sites of distant metastasis.Liver metastasis accounts for 50%-75% in distant metastasis.Only about 10% -15% of patients are candidates for resection, and the recurrence is easy.Selective internal radiation therapy is a new type of radiotherapy. It is partial and liver-targeted.For unresectable colorectal liver metastasis, selective internal radiation therapy alone or in combination with other therapies can reduce cancer focus, prolong the survival, and maybe improve overall survival.

Objective To explore the relationship between HHIP gene with COPD patients in Xinjiang Uygur population. Methods DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples. HHIP gene (rs1828591 and rs12504628)polymorphic loci was detected by iMLDR technique in 233 cases and 292 controls in Uygur. Results There was no significant difference in the genotype, allele frequencies distribution of 2 haplotypes of HHIP (rs1828591 and rs12504628)between the disease group and the control group(P > 0.05). There was no differ? ence in 2 haplotypes of HHIP gene between the disease group and the control group(P > 0.05). Rs1828591 and rs12504628 gene showed significance with predicted FEV1%(P < 0.05). Conclusion Rs1828591 and rs12504628 gene are related with predicted FEV1%.

Objective To investigate whether the killer cell immunoglobulin like receptor (KIR) gene polymorphisms are associated with seronegative spondylarthropathies. Methods All 197 HLA B27 positive patients with seronegative spondyloarthro pathies (SpA) and 83 randomly ethnically matched healthy controls were enrolled to detect the KIR genotype using PCR SSP in Shanghai area. Results The KIR3DL1 gene frequency was significantly lower in the patient group (0 763) than in the control group (1 00) (RR=0 76, P =0 003).Meanwhile,the gene frequencies of two pseudogenes (KIR2DP1,KIR3DP1) were significantly higher in SpA group than in healthy control group (RR=1 1, P =0 004).Conclusion There may be a negative association between pathogenesis of SpA and KIR3DL1 gene. The function of KIR3DL1 molecule should be investigated deeply.

Objective To evaluate the impact of depression on 5-year survival rate of elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods From January 2002 to June 2004, a total of 401 elderly inpatients with COPD were enrolled. They were assigned into two groups according to their HAD-D scores: depression group (HAD-D scores≥8) and non-depression group (HAD-D scores<8).The follow-up time was 5 years. Results The 5-year survival rate was lower in depression group than in non-depression group (log-rank test, χ~2 = 6.94, P<0.01).Depression was independently associated with mortality in elderly patients with COPD (HR: 1.84, 95% CI: 1.08 to 3.11).Conclusions Depression in elderly COPD patients is associated with poor 5-year survival rate, and it is an independent influencing factor of 5-year mortality.

Dihydroflavanol-4-reductase (Dfr) is a key enzyme that regulates the synthesis of anthocyanin and proanthocyanidin in the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway. To investigate the difference of dfr gene in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi with different colors in the same ecological environment, three complete full-length sequences of dfr gene were cloned from the cDNA of S. baicalensis with white, purple-red and purple colors using homologous cloning and RACE techniques. The three genes were named Sbdfr1, Sbdfr2 and Sbdfr3, respectively, and their corresponding structures were analyzed. The results showed that all three Dfr proteins have highly conserved NADPH binding sites and substrate-specific binding sites. Phylogenetic analysis showed that they are closely related to that of the known S. viscidula (ACV49882.1). Analysis of key structural domains and 3D models revealed differences in the catalytically active regions on the surface of all three Dfr proteins, and their unique structural characteristics may provide favorable conditions for studying the substrate specificity of different Dfr proteins. qRT-PCR analysis shows that dfr was expressed at different level in all tissues except the roots of S. baicalensis in full-bloom. During floral development, the expression level of dfr in white and purple-flowered Scutellaria showed an overall upward trend. In purple-red-flowered Scutellaria, the expression first slowly increased, followed by a decrease, and then rapidly increased to the maximum. This research provides a theoretical basis for further exploring the mechanism and function of Dfr substrate selectivity, and are of great scientific value for elucidating the molecular mechanism of floral color variation in S. baicalensis.
