Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(4):13-15
In recent years, many versions of international standard terminologies on TCM have been established and enacted by different authoritative organizations worldwide. However, infantile tuina acupoints have never been included in them. The article illustrated the necessity of including infantile tuina acupoints in the international standard terminologies on TCM from the aspects of history, present state and specificity of these points. It also pointed out some problems of infantile tuina acupoints, such as different records of acupoints numbers, applications in the clinic and strategies applied in their English translation, and suggestions were provided accordingly, hoping that the infantile tuina acupoints can be included in the further revised versions of international standard terminologies on TCM.

3.Synthesis of Resveratrol Dimer Induced by Pheophorbide and Its Enhancing Effects on Free Radical Elimination and Analgesic Activity
Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2015;(8):582-586
Objective] To explore a new method of synthesis of resveratrol oligmer induced by photosensitizers, further analyze its free radical scavenging activity and analgesic activity. [Method] Resveratrol was dispersed in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer solution, mixed with pheophorbide, then illuminated by laser at 630nm. The oligmers in the filtrate were analyzed by HPLC-MS and isolated by preparative liquid chromatography. Free radical scavenging activity was determined by DPPH and ABTS method, and the analgesic effect was measured by hot plate test and acetic acid writhing test in mice. [Result] A new peak occurred and reached stable in reactive solution after 20 min illumination. It was identified as the dimer of resveratrol with conversion of 35%. Its concentrations on inhibition of 50% DPPH and ABTS radical were respectively 230 μg·mL-1 and 273 μg·mL-1. It reached maximum pain threshold at 180 min, and the inhibition rate of writhing number was 62.6% with better effects than resveratrol. [Conclusion] Reseratrol can be polymerized to the dimer after pheophorbide excited by red light, the resveratrol and its dimer both have the ability of eliminating free radicals and analgesic effects, but the dimer has the stronger activity.

p38 signaling pathway is an important branch of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)-mediated signal transduction pathway. It plays pivotal roles in various physiological and pathological events, such as inflammation, cell stress, apoptosis, cell cycle and growth. Previous research in osteoarthritis, p38 participation was found in the inflammatory factors activate, cartilage cell apoptosis etc. Disc degeneration, also associated with inflammatory response, apoptosis and pathological changes which p38 MAPK signaling pathways role is not clear. Some reports about this area are reviewed in this article.

Objective To investigate endplate shape in low lumbar spine in patients with herniated nucleus pulposus, and analyze the relationshipbetween endplate shape and herniation of intervertebral disc, Modic changes. Methods The preoperative MRI of 110 patients wasreviewed. The endplate shape was divided into 3 types. Disc degeneration was classified with the Pfirrmann's way. Results Concave typewas the most common in the lower lumbar spine. Flat was more prevalent in lower than in upper. The L5~S1 segment was flat in most cases.Irregular type was the least and mainly appeared at the L5~S1 segment. Disc degeneration worsened from concave, flat, to irregular. Herniatedintervertebral disc dominated with flat and irregular endplates, and no-herniated ones dominated with concave. Modic changes more associatedwith irregular endplates. Conclusion Endplate shape may respond to the disc degeneration. Modic changes associate with irregularendplate.

Objective To study the effects of extracellular-signal regulated kinase mitogenactivated protein kinase (ERK-MAPK) signaling pathway inhibition on histone phosphorylation and the related gene expression in human colorectal cancer cells. Methods Two human colorectal cancer cell lines (SW1116 and HCT116) were cultured and treated with gradient(0,20,40/μmol/L) doses of ERK-MAPK signaling pathway inhibitor U0126.Cell viability was determined by cell counting kit 8 (CCK-8) assay.Cell cycle distribution was assessed by flow cytometry. The expression levels of histone H3 kinases including ribosomal S6 serine-threonine kinase (RSK-2) and mitogen-and stressactivated protein kinase 1 and 2 (MSK1 and MSK2),and the levels of histone H3 (Ser10) phosphorylation and c-Fos protein were detected using Western blotting. Results Treatment of these two human colorectal cancer cell lines with ERK-MAPK inhibitor resulted in a time and dose-dependent inhibition of cell proliferation significantly. Proliferation rate of HCT116 was reduced to 47% at 72 hours after 40/μmol/L U0126 treatment. Cell cycle analysis showed that the percentage of phase G0/G1 cells significantly increased (P<0. 01) and the percentage of phase S cells decreased (P<0.01) after treatment with ERK-MAPK inhibitor. The expression of MSK1 and RSK2 reduced obviously in both of human colorectal cancer cell lines treated with U0126, which resulted in a 28% and 40% reduction of levels of MSK1 and RSK2 as compared with control HCT116 cells respectively, while no detectable change in the expression of MSK2 was found. Consistent with this, the expression level of histone H3 (ser10) phosphorylation was markedly down-regulated by ERK-MAPK inhibitor, and the related protein c-Fos expression decreased accordantly. Conclusions Decreased ERK-MAPK signaling pathway may reduce histone H3 (Ser10) phosphorylation via suppression of the activity of histone H3 kinase including MSK1 and RSK2, but not MSK2, consequently decrease the expression of c-Fos protein, which results in the inhibition of colorectal cancer cells proliferation.

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to observe and compare the influences of the casting alloy post and cores on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
METHODSSix casting alloy post and sores were fabricated for the experimental groups, and zirconia post and core served as the control. The seven types of post and cores were of the same size and shape. Each post and core was orally fastened to a volunteer and then imaged with sequences of T1-weighted spin echo imaging (SE-T1WI), T2-weighted turbo spin-echo imaging (TSE-T2WI), and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI).
RESULTSCobalt chromium alloy post and core generated severe artifacts, whereas gold palladium alloy post and core generated no obvious artifacts, and no difference was observed between the zirconia and the gold palladium alloy post and cores (P > 0.05). The pure titanium alloy post and core produced mild artifacts. The post and cores of the titanium, nickel-cadmium, and gold platinum alloys generated moderate artifacts with no significant differences (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONDifferent metal post and cores have different influences on MRI. With the exception of that generated by cobalt chromium alloy, the artifact generated by the single-alloy post and core does not influence the image of the normal head and neck.
