Objective To establish a HPLC method for determining the content of oleanolic acid in Radix araliae armatae.Methods Stationary phase was Lichrospher-C18(4.6 mm?250 mm,5 ?m),mobile phase was methanol-0.2% phosphoric(85:15),detection wavelength was 210 nm,flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and column temperature was 30 ℃.Results There was good linearity in the range of 0.059～0.59 ?g for oleanolic acid.The average recovery of oleanolic acid were 95.4% with RSD=0.67%(n=6).Conclusion This method is rapid and accurate.It can be applied to control the quality of Radix araliae armatae effectively.

Methods Stationary phase was Agilent Eclipse XDB-C18 (4.6 mm?150 mm, 5 ?m), mobile phase was methanol-0.1%phosphoric (75∶25), detection wavelength was 285 nm, flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and column temperature was 30 ℃. Results There was good linearity in the range of 0.006 3～0.063 ?g for emodin (r=0.999 9). The average recovery of emodin was 102.0% with RSD=1.58%. Conclusion This method is rapid and accurate. It can be applied to control the quality of Radix et Caulis Ventilaginis leiocarpae.

Objective To explore the effect of body-weight support treadmill training (BWSTT)on ambulatory capacity in individuals following incomplete spinal cord injury (ISCI).Methods 36 cases of incomplete SCI patients were divided randomly into control and BWSTT groups who were classified as ASIA C or D.All received comprehensive rehabilitation, and patients in BWSTT group also received BWSTT for 3 months when the physical condition was permitted.They were assessed before and after treatment.The evaluation items included measurement of ASIA lower-extremity motor assessment, functional independence measure (FIM) ambulatory function measure, 10meter ambulatory velocity and modified Barthel Index.Results The scores of ASIA lower-extremity motor assessment, FIM ambulatory function, the ambulatory 10-meter velocity in BWSTT group improved significantly when compared with the control group (P<0.05).The scores of modified Barthel Index were no difference between two groups before and after treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion BWSTT could improve ambulatory capacity for incomplete SCI patients

In the respects of an-ti-endotoxin, anti-bacterial activities and insulin resistance that was related to the treatment of diabetes, the pharmacodynamic type was studied and the relationship was comprehensively analyzed . The quality evaluation of geo-authentic medicinal materials was preliminarily established based on ecotype , genotype chemitype and phar-macodynamic type of Rhizoma Coptidis . Simultaneously, quality standards of Rhizoma Coptidis were set up in combination with genuine character , which provided the scientific basis for establishing Chinese medicine char-acteristic methods of quality evaluation of Rhizoma Coptidis .

P210(bcr/abl) fusion gene is indispensable for generation and progression of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Small molecule inhibitors, such as imatinib, are effective for P210(bcr/abl) gene mediated CML, but drug resistance may occur. The unique fusion junction of P210(bcr/abl) gene is an attractive target for therapeutic intervention using RNA interference (RNAi). This study was purposed to constructed the BaF3 cell line by viral vector which can stably express P210(bcr/abl) shRNA and P210(bcr/abl) mRNA at the same time, and investigate the effect of lentiviral-victor-delivered shRNA on P210(bcr/abl) gene expression. The infective rate of lentiviral vector on BaF3 cells with P210(bcr/abl) gene was assayed by fluorescent microscopy; the cell proliferation ability was determined by trypan blue exclusion; the P210(bcr/abl) mRNA and protein expressions were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot respectively. The results found that stable expression of the P210(bcr/abl) shRNA resulted in obvious inhibition of P210(bcr/abl) mRNA and protein expression and increased sensitivity of these P210(bcr/abl) gene transformed Ba/F3 cells to imatinib. The IC(50) to imatinib in these cells decreased < 50% as compared with Ba/F3-P210(bcr/abl) cells which did not express P210(bcr/abl) mRNA. The survival time of the lethal dose irradiated mice induced by intravenous injection of these Ba/F3 cells was longer than the other group induced by Ba/F3-P210(bcr/abl). It is concluded that stable expression of shRNA targeting the P210(bcr/abl) gene fusion junction may potentiate the effects of conventional therapy for CML.

Transgenic animal model provide a good platform to research the pathogenesis and therapy of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). To date, a number of BCR/ABL transgenic animal models have been established using different promoter or tetracycline-controlling system. Some of them appear the characteristics of human CML, which have contributed greatly to research the pathogenesis and therapy of CML. In this article, the researching progress, advantage and drawback, application of BCR/ABL transgenic animal model are reviewed.

In this article we built formula database of health food containing Gardeniae Fructus with Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Support System (V2.0). And on this basis, use data mining method such as association rules of the software, to analyze commonly used formula raw materials or materials combination of formula containing Gardeniae Fructus and raw material application having assisted function formula to protect chemical liver injury. The result shows that of the 71 health food formulas containing Gardeniae Fructus, most used materials are Gardeniae Fructus, Lycii Fructus, Angelica Sinensis Radix, Poria and so on. Commonly used materials combination mostly are Gardeniae Fructus and Lycii Fructus, Gardeniae Fructus and Angelica Sinensis Radix, Gardeniae Fructus and Poria, Gardeniae Fructus and Paeonia. There are nearly 18 healthcare functions of the health food containing Gardeniae Fructus, and most of these are assisted functions to protect chemical liver injury, and then immune modulating function. Of 23 formulas containing Gardeniae Fructus having assisted function formula to protect chemical liver injury, Gardeniae Fructus usually combined with traditional Chinese medicine which nourishs blood and liver such as Pueraria, Lycii Fructus, Hawthorn, Paeonia and Turnjujube. Analyzing formula raw materials application of health food containing Gardeniae Fructus contributes a lot to the further development and utilization.

Objective To evaluate the short term effect of bipolar arthroplasties in aged cases with intertrochanteric fractures.Methods There were 23 males and 15 females(at age of 70-93 years, average 76 years)with unstable intertrochanteric fractures treated with the third generation cementing techniques and bipolar arthroplasties that were followed up for average 2.4 years.The clinical effect was evaluate with Harris scale,X-ray films and complications.Results Of all,34 cases(89.5%)could walk freely.The average Harris scale was 84.2 points.The average period until walk with full-weight load was 5.6 weeks.The greater trochanters was united in 35 cases(92%)during average 4.2 months.No peri-prothetic ossteolysis and loosening or subsidence occurred.Conclusions Cemented bipolar arthro- plasty has good advantages of reduced laying up period and few complications.The short-term outcome is satisfactory hut the long-term outcome needs deeper observation.

Imatinib mesylate has been commonly used in the treatment of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). However, a significant number of CML patients treated with imatinib developed thrombocytopenia. Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)/platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) plays a significant role in the regulation of thrombopoiesis. It is suggested that imatinib may block the PDGF/PDGFR and PI3-K/Akt pathway, then inducing the apoptosis of megakaryocytes and developing thrombocytopenia in these patients. In this review, the potential molecular mechanism of imatinib-induced thrombocytopenia in the treatment of CML patients is discussed, including imatinib and thrombocytopenia, PDGF/PDGFR and thrombopoiesis, potential mechanism of imatinib-induced thrombocytopenia in treatment of patients with CML and so on.
