Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
Low zinc (1.4-1.5 ppm) ration containing saturated fat (coconut oil) was fed to weanling rats, death occurred since second week. In third week, total death was 55%. The survivors manifested severe Zn-deficiency symptoms. When they were given Zn supplement in drinking water (100 ppm Zn), the deficient symptoms disappeared quickly and body weights increased rapidly. When coconut oil was replaced by safflower oil, the rats didn't show any Zn-deficiency symptom in 4 weeks. There was no difference in Zn contents of plasma and hair between Zn-deficient rats and the normals. Adjusting fatty acids composition of dietary fat to contain linoleic acid at 20% of total fatty acids, the rats manifested Zn-deficient symptoms after 2 weeks, and Zn contents of plasma and hair were significantly lower than that of normal rats(P

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
Zinc deficient rats were injected subcutaneously each day for 3 weeks with 250 ?l evening primrose oil (EPO, containing 10% Y-linolenic acid and 73% linoleic acid) or safflower oil (SFO, containing 77% linoleic acid only) and compared with zinc supplemented group (ZnS) and zinc deficient group (ZnD) without injections. At the end of the experiment, rats were killed under anaesthesia, organ weights, zinc content of kidneys, blood cholesterol and fatty acid compositions were determined. The results showed animals in EPO group had the best recoveries both in deficient symptoms and in body weights, the zinc content of kidneys was the highest, the serum cholesterol level was significantly lower than those of SFO and ZnD groups, but no difference from ZnS group. The total percentage of 22-C and above(?-6)polyunsatured fatty acids was the highest among those four groups. These results indicated that?-linolenic acid was beneficial to zinc deficient rats in growth, zinc utilization and the metabolism of essential fatty acids.

ve To establish a method for determination of arsenic in drinking water. Methods The contents of arsenic in water samples were determined directly by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotome-try with masking agent of palladium. The working conditions were defined as wave length of 193.7 nm, slit width of 1.3 nm, current of hollow cathode lamp of 12.0 mA; drying 40 sec at 80℃~140℃ ; ashing 20 sec at 1100℃~1200℃; atomizing 5 sec at 2 300℃; purifying 4 sec at 2 600℃ . Results The linear relationship was 10~200?g/ L ar-senic. The average recovery rates of water samples at concentrations of 50 ?g/ L and 150?g/ L arsenic after being added arsenic standard solutions were 100.7% and 103.6% respectively, and sensitivity reached 10?g/ L. The cor-relation coefficient were 0.9954~0.999 7 obtained from 6 randomly repeated determination of standard curve. The metal ions coexisting in determined water samples didn't interfere the determination of arsenic under the application of common uncoated graphite tube. The 0.2% aluminum didn't disturb the determination of arsenic also. Conclusion This method could be applied in the determination of arsenic in water, especially could be applied in the direct deter-mination of arsenic in more clear water samples.

OBJECTIVETo perform a transcriptomics study in differential genes after Xianglian External Lotion (XEL) induced the recovery of drug-resistant Candida albicans strains sensitive to Fluconazole.
METHODSBroth microdilution antifungal susceptibility test was used to detect minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of drug-resistant Candida albicans strains induced by XEL. Transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) was used to determine and compare the transcription of primary drug-resistant Candida aIbicans strains and sensitive strains induced by XEL. High expressed genes and signaling pathways strains were analyzed by gene ontology (GO) method.
RESULTSXEL could induce drug-resistant strains of the 6th generations to recover sensitivity. Transcriptome sequencing showed that, as compared with primary drug-resistant strains, there were 165 genes with up-regulated RPKM index and 144 genes with down-regulated RPKM index after XEL induction. GO analyses found that all genes were mainly classified as GO:0015903 (fluconazole transport).
CONCLUSIONSXEL could induce the recovery of drug-resistant Candida albicans strains sensitive to Fluconazole. By analyzing transcriptomes, authors speculated that XEL could recover strain sensitivity to fluconazole by opening fluconazole transport pathway.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2016;29(2):192-196
As an important indicator of total hip arthroplasty (THA) the rate and degree of offset reconstruction play an important role in improving the prognosis and life quality of patients. The reconstruction of femoral offset is closely related to reserved length of calcar femorale, the head and neck length of prosthesis, angle degree of neck shaft and whether lower limb is isometric. Reconstruction strategy includes making a meticulous and standard measurement before the surgery, predicting the reserved length of calcar femorale, selecting a prosthesis with approximate anatomical neck-shaft angle and reconstructing offset by adjusting the head and neck length of the prosthetic during the operation. The aim of this article was to introduce the research progress and influence of offset on hip function, prosthetic wear and postoperative complications such as pain, limp and unequal leg length, and to discuss the reconstruction strategy.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2017;19(7):608-616
Objective To investigate the conceptual feasibility and biomechanical advantages of our self-designed screw hole filler for a lateral bamboo-raft-type titanium locking plate in a digital model of proximal tibial fracture using linear statics finite element analysis. Methods A nut-type screw hole filler was designed.Four different idealized finite element models of proximal tibial fracture fixed by a lateral bamboo-raft-type anatomic locking plate were established on the basis of three-dimensional CT reconstruction and digital orthopedic techniques. The first one was assembled with the filler and stabilized fibula, the second with stabilized fibula but without the filler, the third with the filler and unstabilized fibula, and the fourth with unstabilized fibula but without the filler.Linear statics finite element analyses were conducted for the 4 models under the same 26 groups of loads. The 4 models were compared in terms of maximum relative displacement on fracture surface, average relative displacement on fracture surface, maximum Von Mises stress of internal fixation, maximum contact stress on fracture surface, maximum contact stress between plate and tibial surface, maximum contact pressure on fracture surface, and maximum contact pressure between plate and tibial surface.Outcomes of the analyses for the 4 models were harvested and treated with Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Results There were significant differences between using filler and not using filler in maximum relative displacement on fracture surface, average relative displacement on fracture surface, maximum Von Mises stress of internal fixation and maximum contact pressure between plate and tibial surface (P < 0.05),but no significant difference was found in maximum contact pressure on fracture surface (P > 0.05).The model assembled with the filler and unstabilized fibula led to the greatest improvement in maximum Von Mises stress of internal fixation (P < 0.05).Conclusions Since use of nut-type screw hole filler may increase the contact pressure between plate and bone surface, reduce the maximum Von Mises stress of internal fixation, the maximum displacement of the whole model, and the relative and average displacements on fracture surface, but has insignificant effect on the contact pressure on fracture surface,it improves the biomechanical performance of internal fixation. The filler deserves further study.
