1.Efficacy of a newly designed modular flexible ureteroscope with holmium laser lithotripsy in the treatment of renal calculi

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of a newly designed modular flexible ureteroscope with holmium laser lithotripsy for the treatment of renal calculi based. Methods 40 patients were treated with modular flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy (German Polydiagnost) with holmium laser. 40 patients were treated by traditional flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy. Their therapeutic effects were compared. Results For modular flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy group, 37 patients underwent successful operation, with lithotripsy with operation time of (86.0 ± 34.4) min and postoperative hospital stay of (5.3 ± 1.6) days. No severe complication including ureteral perforation, high fever or severe bleeding occurred. One month after the operation, KUB and B-ultrasonography showed complete stone free in 35 patients. Residual calculi (0. 4 cm in diameter) in the calyces were found in 2 patients. Medication and postural drainage therapy were applied. Two weeks later , KUB and B-ultrasonography showed that the residual stones have been removed completely. There was no significant differences in stone size , operation time, rate of calculus clearance, the incidence of postoperative complications, operating time and duration of postoperative hospitalization between the traditional flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy group and modular ureteroscopic lithotripsy group. Conclusions The modular flexible ureteroscope is effective and safe in treating reanl calculi. It has similar surgical efficacy as traditional flexible ureteroscope , but is more costly effective in terms of maintenance costs.
2.Bond strength of seventh generation adhesives to normal and caries-affected dentine

BACKGROUND: Researchers in China and abroad have done a lot of experiments to study the bond strength of dentine adhesives from generation one to six,which have received satisfied results. However,there are still no reports about the bond strength of the seventh generation adhesive (Adper EasyTM one). OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the bond strength of the Adper EasyTM one to normal dentine and caries-affected dentine,and to compare the results with total-etching adhesives. METHODS: A total of 12 healthy posterior teeth were randomly divided into group A and B; 12 posterior teeth with chronic occlusal caries were divided into group C and D. Adper EasyTM one was applied for group A and C,while Single bond 2 for group B and D. The modes of group A,B,C,D were subjected to microtensile bond strength test. Interfacial morphologies were analyzed by Stereo-Microscopy. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The microtensile bond strength of group A and B was (21.84±3.98),(27.10±4.85) MPa,which was (16.44±3.46) and (21.48±4.85) MPa in the group C and D. The differences between group A and B,group C and D,group A and C,as well as group B and D were statistical significant (P < 0.05). Failures mostly occur along the resin-dentine interface. The total-etching adhesives performed more effectively to both normal dentine and caries-affected dentine than Adper EasyTM one. For the same adhesive,the healthy dentine yielded higher bond strength than the caries-affected dentine.
3.Determination of residual cross-linker vinyl sulfone in sodium hyaluronate injection

Objective To establish a method to quantify the residual cross-linker vinyl sulfone and its hydration product 1 ,4-Thioxane-1 ,1-Dioxide.Methods The polysaccharide was precipitated by ethanol,however vinyl sulfone and its hydration product were soluble,and can be analyzed by direct injection.The analysis was carried on Agilent DB-wax capillary column (30m ×0.53 mm,1.0 μm).The flame ionization detector (FID)and flame photometric detector (FPD)were used to detect samples and the efficiency were compared. Results The linear range of vinyl sulfone and its hydration product were separately 0.5 ~20μg/mL and 2~100μg/mL detected by FID.The Limit of Quantity (LOQ)were 0.8μg/mL and 2.3μg/mL, respctively.The Limit of Detection (LOD)were 2.6μg/mLand 7.6μg/mL,respectively,and the average recoveries (n=9)of them were 104.3%and 92.4%,respectively.Conclusion FID could meet the needs of the test,and this method is simple and accurate with high sensitivity and good repeatability,which can be used for quality control of trace vinyl sulfone and its hydration products 1 ,4-Thioxane-1 ,1-Dioxide in cross-linked sodium hyaluronate injection.
4.Risk Factors and Infection Prevention measures for Bone Marrow Transplanted Patients

OBJECTIVE To reduce the nosocomial infection rate among bone marrow transplanted patients.METHODS The related factors of infection among bone marrow transplanted patients were analyzed.RESULTS The environmental microbiology pollution,carrying opportunistic pathogens,oral mucosa damage,deep venous catheterization and others were the main related factors of infection.CONCLUSIONS The proposed control of endogenous and exogenous infection and strengthening the counter measures in the oral care and deep venous catherization care could effectively prevent nosocomial infection among bone marrow transplanted patients.
5.The Role of Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Center in Hospital Infection Control

OBJECTIVE To advocate the establishment of a hospital center for intravenous drug preparation,in order to control infection caused by intravenous infusion.METHODS The unsafe factors brought by traditional distributed intravenous drug preparation were analyzed and propose the necessity and importance of the establishment of pharmacy intravenous admixture center.RESULTS Without any case of transfusion reaction occurred for 3 years,the Pharmacy intravenous admixture center could ensure the safety of patients.CONCLUSIONS Pharmacy intravenous admixture center plays an important role in providing the aseptic environment,shortening the preparatory time after the liquid stored and ensuring that the liquid is not contaminated.

7.Hospital Infection in Intensive Care Unit: Analysis and Nursing Control Measure

OBJECTIVE To decrease the infection rate in intensive care unit(ICU) effectively. METHODS To analyze the reason of infection in ICU,such as the infection of respiratory tract,the infection of urinary system,the vascular infection after therapy,and the infection of alimentary tract,and to raise the control measure of nursing. RESULTS To pay attention to the arrangement and setting in ICU,the implementation of the regulation of nursing strictly, the intravascular therapy,the correct realizing of nursing procedure,and the reinforcement of nursing management,in order to keep the low infection rate. CONCLUSIONS All nursing measure raised/above is very useful for the hospital infection control in ICU.

10.Preparation and identification of polyclonal antibody against CMTM1-v17/CKLFSF-v17

Objective:To analyze a novel antigenic determinant of Homo sapiens CMTM1-v17 protein and prepare polyclonal antibody.Methods:By means of DNA recombination method, the C-terminal(The coding sequences of 118-149 residues) of CMTM1-v17 gene was inserted into pGEX-4T-2 vector. The recombinant plasmid was transformed into E.coli XL-1 Blue to express the fusion protein of GST/CMTM1-v17. The GST tag of the purified fusion protein was removed by enzymatic cleavage with thrombin. The polyclonal anti-CMTM1-v17 antibody were prepared by immunizing rabbits with the purified protein. Highly-specific, polyclonal anti-CMTM1-v17 antibodies was purified by affinity chromatographic column matrix coupled with antigen. The specificity of the anti-CMTM1-v17 antibody was identified by Western blot and immunohistochemistry.Results:The polyclonal antibody showed specific response to CMTM1-v17 by Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry. These results suggested that the polyclonal antibody can be used for further studies of CMTM1-v17 function.Conclusion:A polyclonal anti-CMTM1-v17 antibody has been synthesized successfully.
