1.MRI of portal vein and superior mesenteric venous thrombosis with intestinal ischemia

Objective To discuss the diagnostic value of MRI for portal vein(PV)and superior mesenteric venous(SMV)thrombosis.Methods Twelve patients with portal vein and superior mesenterie venous thrombosis proved by operation and pathology were examined with T_1WI,T_2WI,T_2-weighted fat suppression imaging,MR angiography(MRA)and Gd-DTPA enhanced dynamic MRI.Results Signals in PV and SMV were detected on T_1 WI and T2WI in 12 cases;3 acute thrombus presented hypo-or isointense on T_1 WI and hyperintense on T_2 WI.ttyperintense on T_1 WI and T_2WI were showed in 8 subacute thrombus; 1 chronic thrombus presented heterogenous intense on T_1W1 and hypointense on T_2W1.No enhancement within PV and SMV was found on Gd-DTPA enhanced images.Bowel dilatation was found in 10 cases,bowel hemorrhage in 6,bowel wall thickening in 12,intestinal pneumatosis in 3,ascites in 12,cavernous transformation of the portal vein in 3,hepatic perfusion disorder in 6.Conclusion MRI is an important and sensitive imaging method for the diagnosis and location of portal vein and superior mesenteric venous thrombosis with intestinal ischemia.
2.Coping strategy and its effect on occupational stress among rail freight dispatchers.

OBJECTIVETo analyse the relationship between coping strategy and occupational stress in rail freight dispatchers.
METHODS115 rail freight dispatchers were investigated by using group sampling method, investigation contents included coping strategies, occupational stressors, strains and personalities.
RESULTSThe proportion of using coping strategy in rail freight dispatchers is lower. The scores of job future ambiguity, type A behavior and work locus of control in workers with insufficient coping strategy were higher than those in workers with sufficient strategy (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), but the score of organization commitment score in workers with insufficient coping strategy was lower than those in workers with sufficient strategy (P < 0.05), the differences of scores of some occupational stressor, strain and personality variables between workers with insufficient and those with sufficient in social support, job-family balance, job involvement coping factors of coping strategy were remarkable significant (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), the differences of scores of occupational stressor, strain and personality variables between workers with insufficient and those with sufficient in ask, logic and time management factors of coping strategy weren't significant (P > 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that risk of being job dissatisfaction and daily life stress in workers with insufficient social support coping was three or four times than those with sufficient coping (OR = 3.06 or 4.38, respectively), risk of being daily life stress in workers with insufficient job involvement coping was three times than those with sufficient coping (OR = 3.26).
CONCLUSIONThe proportion of using coping strategy in rail freight dispatchers is lower. Coping strategy has influence on the individual's perception of occuaptional stressors, strains and personalities.

3.Studies on the Screening of a Cyanide-Degradation Strain and Its Cyanide-Transformation Characteristics*

A bacterial strain DN25, effective on cyanide-degradation, was isolated from contaminated soil and identified as Alcaligenes sp. on the basis of phenotype analysis and 16S rDNA sequence analysis. It showed great tolerance to the cyanide, which can grow in the medium containing 500mg CN -/L. The suitable condition for the cell growth and boitransformation was pH8.0 and 30oC and the transformation rate for 500mg CN - /L could achieve 99% in 10 h. It has also been found that the screened strain had the ability of K 4Fe(CN) 6 transformation with 96% of transformation rate at 12 h for the concentration of 500 mg CN /L.
4.Treatment of thoracolumbar fractures by rehabilitation exercise using knee pads on the orthopedic traction bed.

OBJECTIVETo discuss the clinical effectiveness in treating thoracolumbar fractures adopting the rehabilitation exercise utilizing knee pads on the orthopedic traction bed.
METHODSFrom June 1996 to June 2006, we studied the clinical effectiveness of thoracolumbar fractures utilizing knee pads on the orthopedic traction bed for rehabilitation exercise. The cases surveyed total 209, 163 of which had full data. There were 98 males and 65 females with the age from 17 to 74 years (mean, 14.5 years). Consulting time after injury from 30 min to 7 days. Fracture site in T11 had 8 cases, in T12 24 cases, in L1 73 cases, in L2 33 cases, in L3 8 cases, in L4 3 cases, in T12 and L1 14 cases. Compression degree of vertebral anterior border: full compression had 1 case,more than 4/5 had 23, more than 2/3 had 67, more than 1/2 had 40, in 1/3 had 46.
RESULTSAmong them, 8 cases with legs paresis no recovery in nerval function or stopping recovery changed methods, and underwent surgical treatment. Others 155 cases were followed up from 2 to 12 years with an average of 3 years and 4 months. The average height of vertebral anterior borders of the 169 injured compressed had increased from 1.55 cm before treatment to 2.70 cm after treatment with an average of 1.15 cm. The height of the injured vertebral anterior borders had recovered from 50.5% (1.55/3.07) before treatment to 89.4% (2.70/3.02) after treatment. Kyphosis angle of the injured vertebral bodies had recovered from 13.25 degrees to -1.6 degrees in average. Twenty-three cases associated with dislocation basic reduction.
CONCLUSIONRehabilitation exercise using knee pads on the orthopedic traction bed can obtain satisfactory clinical effect in treating thoracolumbar fractures, the method is easy. At 3, 7, 10 days after treatment, the height of bed should be adjusted according X-ray.

5.Trends and risk factors of overweight and obesity among Chinese middle school students

Objective To investigate the trends and risk factors of overweight and obesity in Chinese middle school students. Methods Data from the China Education Panel Survey conducted in 2014, 2015 and 2016 were used (8 616, 8 762, 7 614; age range 11-18 years old). Overweight and obesity were defined according to Chinese sex-age-specific body mass index (BMI) cutoffs. Relationships between risk factors and BMI, overweight and obesity were tested, using linear regression and logistic regression models. Results The overall prevalence of overweight and obesity in 2016 was 15.3% (17.9% in boys, 12.6% in girls). From 2014 to 2016, the prevalence of overweight and obesity was increasing steadily. After adjusting for age and sex in 2016, being only-child, self-perceived being overweight or obese, or living in urban area were associated with higher BMI (β(SE)=0.23(0.10), β(SE)=2.83(0.14), β(SE)=0.23(0.11), respectively). Self-perceived being overweight or obese was associated with overweight and obesity (OR=4.20, 95% CI: 2.97-5.40). Conclusions Overweight and obesity rates among Chinese middle school students increased steadily from 2014 to 2016. Efforts should be made on childhood obesity prevention and control, especially target at those being only-child, living in urban areas.
6.Prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents in Beijing in 2004.

OBJECTIVETo determine the current prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents (2-18 years) in Beijing and its distribution by age, gender and urban-rural residence.
METHODSAs part of the Beijing Child and Adolescent Metabolic Syndrome Study, a stratified cluster representative sample of 23,422 children aged 0-18 years was selected. Anthropometric measures including weight and height were collected from 21,198 subjects aged 2-18 years from April to October in 2004. Overweight and obesity were defined according to body mass index [BMI, weight(kg)/height(m2)] cutpoints. For national and international comparisons, three sex-age-specific BMI criteria were used:1) The BMI cutoffs recommended by the Chinese Working Group on Obesity for Children (WGOC) aged 7-18 years; 2) The US 2000 CDC Growth Charts (CDC 2000) frac 34, the 85th and 95th percentiles; 3) The International Obesity Task Force (IOTF) reference.
RESULTSThe overall combined prevalence of overweight and obesity was 18.6% with obesity as 8.1% based on the CDC 2000 criteria, The figures were 17.4% and 5.1% based on the IOTF criteria. According to the WGOC criteria, the combined prevalence of obesity was 20.9% and 8.9% in children aged 7-18 years. The combined prevalence was higher in school-age children (6-18 years) than in preschool-age children (19.8% vs. 14.8%, based on the CDC 2000 criteria). Among school-age children, the prevalence was higher in boys than in girls (26.7% vs. 16.5%), in urban than in rural areas (27.0% vs. 15.9%). However, these differences were not observed in preschool-age children. It was estimated that approximately 450 000 children from 2 through 18 years of age,were overweight or obesity in Beijing.
CONCLUSIONData from our study indicated that one fifth of the children and adolescents in Beijing were under overweight or obesity situation which was the highest in the nation. Obesity among children and adolescents in Beijing had already become a serious public health problem which deserved greater attention.

AIMTo study the synthesis and antibacterial activity of ciprofloxacin derivatives.
METHODSCiprofloxacin derivatives were synthesized primarily from 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazol and ciprofloxacin through nucleophilic substitution. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds were tested.
RESULTSNine new compounds were synthesized. The structure of the title compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, MS and element analysis.
CONCLUSIONCompounds II, IVC and IVD showed appreciable antibacterial activity, and were worth further studying.

8.An intracavitary convex array probe for detecting internal carotid artery disease.

OBJECTIVETo assess the value of an intracavitary convex array probe in detecting internal carotid artery (ICA) disease.
METHODSEighty-six carotid arteries in 43 cases were examined with intracavitary convex array probe, low-frequency convex array probe and high-frequency linear probe to collect the data including the ICA visible length, peak systolic velocity (PSV), internal diameter, blood vessel shape; common carotid artery (CCA) intimae-medial thickness (IMT), PSV, and internal diameter.
RESULTSSignificant differences were noted in the visible length, PSV of ICA, and internal diameter detected by different frequency ultrasound probes. Intracavitary probe and high-frequency probe produced significantly different findings of the blood vessel shape.
CONCLUSIONIntracavitary convex array probe has important clinical value in detecting of ICA disease.

9.Effect of Mac-1 deficiency on the tumor growth of melanoma in mice

Objective To explore the influence of Mac-1 deficiency on tumor growth of melanoma. Methods The population of Mac-1 gene knock-out ( Mac-1 -/ -) mice was expanded. B16-F10 cells were subcutaneously injected into the C57BL/6J mice (control group) and Mac-1 -/ -mice (experiment group), respectively. Subsequently,the survival rate, tumor volume and body weight were recorded. The proliferation and infiltration of macrophages were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The survival rate of Mac-1 -/ - mice was significantly improved compared with the C57BL/6J mice (P ﹤0. 001). The tumor volume and body weight were remarkably decreased in the Mac-1 -/ - mice compared with the control group (P﹤0. 001). Meanwhile, the tumor cell proliferation index was decreased in the Mac-1 -/ - mice compared with the control group (P﹤0. 01). Furthermore, the infiltration of macrophages in the tumor tissues was also decreased in Mac-1 -/ - tumor mice compared with control group. Conclusions Mac-1 gene deletion can significantly suppress melanoma growth.
10.Forensic pathological significance of immunohistochemical study with CX43 in rats on early myocardial ischaemia.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore one of evidence for pathologic diagnosis of early myocardial ischaemia.
METHODS:
Rats were ligated of the left coronary artery according to a previously documented technique, and heart tissue was sampled at different ischaemia time. The expression of CX43 in myocardial cell was detected by Immunohistochemistry.
RESULTS:
It is showed that the distribution and amount of CX43 positive staining in each group of the myocardial ischaemia was different from that of the control group.
CONCLUSION
The changes of CX43 detected by Immunohistochemical methods may be helpful for the diagnosis of early myocardial ischaemia, but further pathologic investigation and research is necessary.
