Objective To study the relationship of microinflammation, nutrition and common carotid artery intima-media thickness(CCA-IMT) for the early prevention and interference of ischemic stroke. Methods(CCA-IMT was) measured by carotid arterial ultrasound in 250 elderly subjects. The levels of serum high-sensitivity C-(reactive) protein(hsCRP),ferritin,albumin,pre-albumin and transferrin were assayed at the same time.According to the results of CCA-IMT,all the subjects were divided into five groups:

Objective To identify various arteriographic manifestations and the curative effects of emergency embolization of renal hemorrhage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Methods Emergency arteriography was performed in 21 patients of renal hemor-rhage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy.Emergency embolotherapy was conducted by using different embolic agents such as gelat-in sponge, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)particles and coils after bleeding arteries were identified. The arteriographic manifestations and the curative effects of the treatment for renal hemorrhage were retrospectively analyzed. Results Contrast extravasations were con-firmed in 21 patients, among them,4 contrast extravasations with arteriovenous fistulas(AVF)of renal artery;3 pseudoaneurysms of renal artery. The hemorrhage completely stopped after emergent embolotherapy in 21 cases.During follow-up,no rebleedings and severe complications occurred. Conclusion Emergency arterial embolization for renal hemorrhage after percutaneous nephrolithotomy is a safe and effective treatment. The key to successful treatment is to select embolization agent reasonably and embolize the bleeding arteries thoroughly and completely.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of aminoguanidine(AG) on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion damage in rats. Methods The intravascular thread models with 2 h of occlusion and 22 h of reperfusion were made in the rats. The brain infarction size and the degree of blood brain barrier(BBB) disruption in the ischemic regions were evaluated by staining with 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride and observing with Evans blue fluorescence microscope.HE staining was utilized for observing neutrophil infiltration. Results The brain infarction(volume,) the area of BBB disruption and the degree of neutrophil infiltration were dramatically decreased in the treatment group as compared to the control group(P

Objective To study the relationship of carotid atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease and cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and forty patients were divided into three groups: coronary artery disease(CAD) group, cerebral infarction(CI) group and control(C) group. All the patients accepted carotid ultrasonograph. Results The incidence of multiple plaques in carotid artery was much higher in CI group than in C group and CAD group(P

Objective To investigate the effects of enhanced external counterpulsation on coronary heart diseas epatients who suffer from insomnia .Methods Ninety-two cases of coronary heart disease patients with insomnia were divided into observation group and control group randomly ,46 cases in each group .The cases in control group were given routine drug treatment and nursing for coronary heart disease and insomnia .On this base ,the cases in observation group were given EECP .Use the pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) to evaluate the sleep quality of two groups on day of admission and 30d after treatment .The dimensions score and total score of two groups in each time were compared and analyzed .Results After the intervention of 30 d ,PSQI scores in the observation group were lower than those before intervention ,and lower than that of control group ,and there was statistical signifi-cance(P<0 .05) .Conclusion The EECP can relieve the insomnia of coronary heart disease patients ,and improve there sleep quali-ty .

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
An immunopotentiating compound has been isolated from the metabolites of Bacillus mycoides under the bioassay-guided isolation and identification for its immunopotentiating effect and chemical structure. The isolation and purification of the compound were consisted of macroporous adsorptive resins, silicagel chromatographic column and Sephadex G-200 chromatographic column. The immunopotentiating effect was assayed in every step isolation. At last, the only substance having the strongest immunopotentiating effect had been isolated and purified. Through the procedure consisiting of Ultra-Violet spectroscopy (UV), IR (Infrared Radiation), Time of Flight Mass Spectrum (TOF-MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Element analysis, the possible structure of compound M had been identified as cyclic (Pro-Gly) dipeptide (C7H10O2N2) (Diketopiperazine). To be determined the immunopotentiating effect, the mice were treated by intraperitoneal injection of cyclic (Pro-Gly) dipeptide in the treatment group and physiologic saline in the control group. At the 14th day after the injection, the SOD activity and the phagocytosis activities reached the peak value and were significantly higher than those in control group. At the 21st day, the bactericidal activity reached peak value and was significantly higher than that in the control group. From the above results, we concluded that the main active component enhancing the immunity of mice was cyclic (Pro-Gly) dipeptide in the metabolism of Bacillus mycoides.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2005;40(1):39-42
AIMTo study the protein binding of glimepiride.
METHODSAn HPLC-FA method is performed by using Pinkerton GFF II-S5-80 internal-surface reversed-phase silica support (150 mm x 4.6 mm ID, 5 microm) at pH 7.4 in a 67 mmol x L(-1) isotonic sodium phosphate buffer at 37 degree C. Other conditions included flow rate of 0.2 mL x min(-1), UV detection at wavelength 230 nm and injection volume 900 microL.
RESULTSNonlinear regression parameter estimation was used for the association constant measurement of glimepiride to both primary and secondary sites, which were 5.1 (micromol x L(-1)-1 and 1 for K1 and n1, and 0.017 (micromol x L(-1))-1 and 7 for K2 and n2, respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe method is shown to be suitable for investigation of protein binding of glimepiride.
