Objective To explore distally-based the interal ankle perforator saphenou neuro-veno-fasciocutaneous flap has been universally adopted for the repairment of the foot and the ankle soft-tissue defects.Methods Lay a foundation of anatomic studying,using the interal ankle perforator saphenous neuro-venofasciocutaneous flap 10 cases, the flap axis point was 1-3 cm above the pink of the interal ankle, average 2 cm. The scope of the flap were 4.0 cm× 3.0 cm-8.0 cm× 6.0 cm. Results All the perforator saphenous neuro-veno-fasciocutaneous flap were lively. About all, 2 cases had the small distant part necrosis, 1 case accompanying with subcutaneous tissue heels after change dressings, another heels after skin grating. All case can walk as usual, the flap had wear-resisting and keenly feel. Conclusion Distally-based the interal ankle perforator saphenous neuro-veno-fasciocutaneous flap, near ankle, donner area exiting fine, utlizing scope large, skin nice, grating easy, no hurting important blood vessle, alive rate high, it is an good donner area in repairing the foot and the ankle soft-tissue defects.

Objective To analyze the effect of Noggin silencing on the BMP and Wnt signaling pathways in hair follicle development.Methods The expression of BMP-2, BMP-4, BMPR-IA, BMP-6, BMP-7, LEF-1 andβ-catenin in Noggin silencing MC3T3-E1 stable cell line was detected by RT-PCR and western blot.Results RT-PCR results showed that the expressions of five genes in BMP signaling pathway were all significantly influenced by Noggin silencing, the ex-pressions of BMP-2 (P<0.001), BMP-4 (P<0.01), BMP-6 (P<0.001) and BMP-7 (P<0.001) were all increased and the expression of BMPR-IA (P<0.01) was decreased.While the expressions of the two genes LEF-1 (P<0.001) and β-catenin ( P<0.001) in Wnt signaling pathway were significantly decreased.Western blot results showed that the ex-pressions of these proteins in the two signaling pathways were also affected.The expressions of BMP-2 (P<0.05), BMP-4 (P<0.05), BMP-6 (P<0.05) and BMP-7 (P<0.05) were all increased, while the expressions of BMPR-IA (P<0.05), LEF-1 (P<0.01) andβ-catenin (P<0.001) were decreased.Conclusions There may be a negative feedback regulation of Noggin on the BMP signaling pathway in vitro, but a positive feedback regulation on the Wnt signaling pathway in vitro.It provides certain evidence for studies on the effect of Noggin gene on BMP and Wnt signaling pathways in vivo. There may be an interaction between hair follicle development-related signaling pathways, which still needs further experi-ments to prove.

In this paper, we reviewed the brain imaging studies of male sexual function in recent years from three aspects: the brain mechanism of normal sexual function, the brain mechanism of sexual dysfunction, and the mechanism of drug therapy for sexual dysfunction. Studies show that the development stages of male sexual activities, such as the excitement phase, plateau phase and orgasm phase, are controlled by different neural networks. The mesodiencephalic transition zone may play an important role in the start up of male ejaculation. There are significant differences between sexual dysfunction males and normal males in activation patterns of the brain in sexual arousal. The medial orbitofrontal cortex and inferior frontal gyrus in the abnormal activation pattern are correlated with sexual dysfunction males in sexual arousal. Serum testosterone and morphine are commonly used drugs for male sexual dysfunction, whose mechanisms are to alter the activating levels of the medial orbitofrontal cortex, insula, claustrum and inferior temporal gyrus.

Objective To study the dynamic changes of cytokines including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-?),interleukin-6 (IL-6),IL-8 in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of asphyxia neonates,and to analyze the relationship between cytokines levels and severity of brain damage and neurological outcome. Methods The concentrations of TNF-?,IL-6,IL-8 in serum and CSF were measured by radioimmunoassay in 63 asphyxia neonates. Neurological development was evaluated at 12 months by children′s developmental scale of china.Results The serum concentrations of TNF-?, IL-6,IL-8 were significantly higher in asphyxiated neonates than those in the controls,and they were correlated with the degree of encephalopathy. The level of serum TNF-? was hig-(hest) at the first day and IL-6 was highest at the third day. There was no marked dynamic changes within 5 days in serum IL-8 level. The concentrations of TNF-?,IL-8 in CSF were higher at the first and the third day.The dynamic changes of IL-6 in CSF were similar in serum and they were positively correlated. The serum concentration of IL-6 in severe brain injury group was much higher than those of normal and mild group.The CSF concentration of IL-6 in severe brain injury group was much higher than that of normal group. The CSF concentration of IL-8 in severe brain injury group was much higher than those of the normal and mild group. Conclusions The concentrations of TNF-?,IL-6 and IL-8 are increased both in serum and CSF in asphyxiated neonates which are correlated with severity of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Cytokine-mediated inflammatory reactions may participate in the mechanism of hypoxic-ischemic brain injury after asphyxiaion.The concentration of IL-6 in serum and IL-6, IL-8 in CSF are correlated with the neurological outcome.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the vertical bone height and the bone density of the palate for implants placement using cone beam CT(CBCT) and to provide references to the safe and stable placement of palatal implants.

METHODSThree-dimensional reformatting images were reconstructed with the selected CBCT scanning data of 34 patients aged 18 to 35 yeras, by means of EZ implant software. The vertical bone height was measured at 20 interesting sites of palate. Bone density was measured at 10 sites that could support 3.0 mm long implants. The data of the vertical bone height and bone density were analyzed by K-means cluster analysis.

RESULTSAccording to the cluster analysis results, the 10 sites were classified into 3 clusters. There were statistical differences among these three clusters in bone height and bone density (P < 0.05). The LSD result showed that the greatest mean value of vertical bone height was obtained in cluster 2, followed by cluster 1 and cluster 3; the highest bone density was founded in cluster 3, followed by cluster 1 and cluster 2.

CONCLUSIONSEvaluation of the sites for palatal implant placement with cone beam CT would be helpful in safe and stable implantation.

BACKGROUNDThere were only 3 multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines established in China. In this study, we succeeded in establishing a novel MM cell line and analyzed its biological characteristics.

METHODSMononuclear cells isolated from the peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow (BM) of a patient with advanced MM (lambda light chain type) were cultured in medium. Cell morphology was analyzed by Wright-Giemsa-staining and cytochemical staining, immunophenotyping by flow cytometry and cytogenetic analysis by chromosome RHG-banding technique. Quantitative fluorescent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect Epstein - Barr virus (EBV) DNA.

RESULTSThe established cell line could survive and proliferate in the presence of feeder cells or conditioned medium. The cells secreted lambda light chain and were negative for EBV. The Wright-Giemsa-staining showed typical plasmablast or plasma cell morphology. The cytochemical staining of the cells showed the following reactivity patterns: positive for acid phosphatase, negative for myeloperoxidase. The immunoprofile of the cells was concordant with that of MM cells: positive for CD10, CD28, CD38, CD138, CD56, CD49d, CD44, CD54 and CD58, negative for CD19, CD40, CD95, CD95L, CD34, CD2 and CD5. The cytogenetic analysis showed complex chromosome abnormality of i (1q+), 8q+, 13q+, i (17q), i (18q) and +M. There was no difference in morphology, immunophenotype and cytogenetics between cells from PB and BM.

CONCLUSIONSAn MM cell line secreting lambda light chain named CZ-1 was established. The cells from both PB and BM have the same biological characteristics.

OBJECTIVETo discuss the reasons for the operation performed on 13 patients with upper cervical disease and to explore the management and prevention of upper cervical disease.

METHODSThirteen patients with upper cervical disease were retrospectively reviewed. The reason for of reoperations on these patients were analyzed. The measures to reduce upper cervical operational complication and bad prognosis were discussed to avoid reoperations.

RESULTSThe reasons for reoperations included 9 cases with unstable or re-dislocated atlantoaxial joint, 10 cases with residual spinal cord compression, 1 case with malposition of odontoid screw, 1 case with adjacent cervical spine regression, 1 case with occipital-cervical fusion failure, 1 case with spinal cord injury during operation, 1 case with bone-plant slipped into canales spinalis, and 1 case with demand to take out internal fixation for aggravated symptom.

CONCLUSIONSThe common reasons for upper cervical reoperations were due to instability or redislocation of atlantoaxial joint and residual of spinal cord compression. Some measures such as reducing operate miss, using firm internal fixation and decompressing were advisable to decrease the incidence of reoperations.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the gene mutation in two pedigrees of inherited coagulation factor VII (FVII) deficiency, and investigate the relationship between the genotype and phenotype.

METHODThe coagulation function and coagulation factors activity of probands were detected for phenotype diagnosis, all exons and junctions of FVII gene from the family members' genomic DNA were amplified using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and detected the gene mutation by direct sequencing. Mutations were confirmed by reverse sequencing.

RESULTThe prothrombin time (PT) of proband 1 was 265.2 s, FVII:C was 22% and the PT of proband 2 was > 120 s, FVII:C was 1%. Homozygous 17844G→A mutation in No. 8 exon of FVII gene was identified in the proband 1 resulting in Gly343Ser, and heterozygosity for the same mutations were confirmed in his parents and a sister. The proband 2 was compound heterozygous, one mutation was the same as the proband 1 but was a heterozygosity that can also found in his mother and brother; the other heterozygosity mutation was located on No. 8 exon 18055G→A that resulted in Gln413Arg which was inherited from his father.

CONCLUSIONNo. 8 exon of FVII gene encodes catalytic domain. Mutation found in those domain could change the FVII catalytic domain spatial structure, affected FVII function and stability, and the sufferer of homozygote and compound heterozygous may have clinical bleeding tendency. Almost no clinical findings in simple heterozygotes, however, a few of heterozygotes could have a tendency of bleeding because of genetic polymorphism which would reduce the FVII:C.

Objective To evaluate the effect of serum chromium on oral cancer after adjusting the covarite between groups based on propensity score matching (PSM). Methods We performed a case-control study in 395 cases of newly diagnosed primary oral cancer from the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University and 1 240 controls from the same community from January 2010 to February 2018. Using the PSM to select 309 controls randomly which were matched with the cases by 1 ∶1 matching. Conditional Logistic regression model was used to explore the association between chromium and oral cancer. Results The level of serum chromium was 178.91 (121.83-284.19) μg/L in the case group, which was lower than 324.27 (264.82-397.69) μg/L in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.001). Dose-response analysis showed that the risk of oral cancer gradually decreased with the increase of serum chromium, which presented a negative correlation. There was a negative correlation between serum chromium level and the risk for oral cancer by conditional Logistic regression,the aOR of serum chromium in the Q2, Q3 and Q4 compared with the Q1 were 0.14 (0.08-0.26), 0.15 (0.08-0.28) and 0.10 (0.05-0.20),with significant trend (Ptrend＜0.001). Stratified analysis showed the negative correlation between serum chromium and oral cancer by smoking, drinking tea, not drinking alcohol status and fish, fruits and green vegetables intake frequencies. Conclusions The high level of serum chromium is a protective factor for the incidence of oral cancer, and the higher of serum chromium, the lower risk of developing oral cancer.
