1.Research progress in correlation between insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA binding protein 2 gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Chinese Journal of Biologicals 2023;36(3):363-
Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)was a chronic,non-communicable disease with a combination of multiple genetic and environmental factors,of which the main characteristics included insufficient insulin secretion and insulin resistance.Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA binding protein 2(IGF2BP2/IMP2),an important insulin secretion-related protein in human body,is mainly expressed in tissues and cells such as pancreas, fat and intestine. It has been confirmed that IGF2BP2 can down-regulate the expression of IGF2 and the function damage of the related islet β cell is an important cause of T2DM and vascular complications.Therefore,IGF2BP2 gene can be used as an important predictor for diabetes mellitus risk. This paper reviews the correlation between IGF2BP2 gene and T2DM.

Naive and chronically infected C57BL/6 mice were challenged percutaneously over the ear pinna with Schistosoma japonicum cercariae. After 15 hours, the number of EOS increased significantly in the skin of chronically infected mice. Inflammatory cells aggre-gated in the vicinity of schisto.somula or entrapped intact and disintegrated schistosomula, forming granulocytic micro-abscesses in both groups. Ultrastructure studies revealed that flattened EOS tightly attached to the schistosomulum surface and degranulated. Local tegument damage occurred in the area of attacbment. NEU adherence did not seem to be as intimate as EOS, and degranulation was not seen. The tegument of the attached schis-tosoniulum remained normal. The result suggested that EOS appeared to be the efficient killer cell against skin phase schistosomula of S. japonicum (Figs. 1-6).

This study provides the candidate sequences in the identification of Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis and its adulterants using DNA barcoding. We amplified and sequenced the region psbA-trnH, with the data of 284 sequences from GenBank, the differential intra- and inter-specific divergences, genetic distance, barcoding gap were used to evaluate five barcodes, and the identification efficiency was assessed using BLAST1 and Nearest Distance methods. The results showed that psbA-trnH barcodes performed high identification efficiency and inter-specific divergences among the five different DNA barcodes. Analysis of the barcoding gap and NJ tree showed psbA-trnH was superior to other barcodes. Based on the identification and PCR amplification efficiency, psbA-trnH can be the ideal barcode to identify Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis and its adulterants accurately.

Objective To assess the efficacy of Sevoflurane-Remifentanil anesthesia in pediatric fiberoptic bron-choscopy (FOB) compared with a Propofol-Remifentanil regimen. Methods 60 children scheduled for fiberoptic bronchoscopy were randomly divided into two groups ( = 30 in each group): In group S, patients received Sevoflu-rane inhalation and intravenous infusion with Remifentanil. In group P, patients received total intravenous anesthesia with Propofol and Remifentanil. Standard laryngeal mask airways (LMA) were inserted into all children in two groups after anesthesia and fiberoptic bronchoscopy was carried out via LPA. MAP, HR, SpO2, PETCO2 and BIS were record-ed before anesthesia (T0, baseline), before FOB (T1), 2 min after FOB (T2). Then assess the effect of general anesthe-sia. Procedure time, recovery time and incidence of adverse events were also recorded. Results HR, MAP and SpO2 at T1 and SpO2 at T2 in group P were significantly lower than those in group S. PETCO2 at T1 and MAP, HR, PETCO2 at T2 in group P were significantly higher than those in group S. Better quality of anesthesia, less respiratory depression, and less interruption needed during procedure were found in group S. Conclusion Compared with Propofol-based to-tal intravenous anesthesia, Sevoflurane inhalation via laryngeal mask combined with intravenous Remifentanil pro-vides a superior profile in pediatric fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
