1.One of academic thoughts of Professor LU Zhi-zheng in spleen and stomach——The pathogenic factor for internal damage of spleen and stomach in modern times
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(05):-
On inheriting the doctrines of Li Dong-yuan's'Internal damage of spleen and stomach causes diverse illnesses'and YE Gui's moistening stomach-yin etc.,Professor LU Zhi-zheng elaborates their academic thoughts further and proposes the core of spleen and stomach regulation in modern times——'cotrolling the center, operating four sides, keeping happy emotion, regulating ascending and descending, considering moistening and dryness, normalizing food and drink'.He does not only apply spleen and stomach to treat spleen and stomach illness but also treat vertigo, thoracic obstruction, cardialgia, apoplexy, liver and kidney diseases, rheumatosis and so on,which are all effective. However,as times, diets and living habits are changing,as well as social environment is different, the spleen and stomach diseases, which are caused by people's unhealthy diet, irregular work and rest, overworking and high spiritual pressure of work in this modern society with profound food and clothing and highly developed material civilization, has changed greatly from the spleen and stomach theory in Dongyuan times. In this case,Professor LU experiences that the reason for injured spleen and stomach in modern society has its unique pathogenic factor, thus sets up the etiology and pathogenesis for spleen and stomach of internal injury in the new times.
2.Biostimulation feedback treatment improves surface electromyography value of pelvic floor muscle during contraction in women with mild and moderate stress urinary incontinence
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(33):5346-5350
BACKGROUND:Biostimulation feedback treatment has been widely used for female stress urinary incontinence. The treatment principle is based on the electromyographic signal measured and the combination of biofeedback technique and electrotherapy technique.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of biofeedback electrical stimulation in treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.
METHODS:Thirty female patients suffering from light or moderate stress urinary incontinence received biofeedback electrical stimulation for 4-8 weeks. The stimulation parameters were 60 Hz, 20-60 mA, 12-second feedback. The patients were instructed to contract pelvic floor muscle. The peak value of surface electromyography in pelvic floor muscular 2-second-rapid-contraction, mean value of pelvic floor muscular 10-second-contraction, mean value of the pelvic floor muscular 60-second-tolerance-contraction, and the rate of urine leakage were observed before and after treatment.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The peak value of surface electromyography in pelvic floor muscular 2-second-rapid-contraction, mean value of pelvic floor muscular 10-second-contraction, and mean value of the pelvic floor muscular 60-second-tolerance-contraction were significantly increased after treatment, compared with before treatment (P<0.05). The rate of urine leakage was decreased obviously after treatment (P<0.05). Biofeedback electrical stimulation can significantly increase surface electromyography value of pelvic floor muscles during contraction, and is an effective treatment for female stress urinary incontinence.

10.Effects of oxidized low density lipoprotein and lysophosphatidylcholine on cholesterol efflux from mouse peritoneal macrophage foam cells
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1999;0(09):-
AIM: To explore the effects of oxidized low density lipoprotein (OxLDL) and one of its component— lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) on cholesterol efflux from mouse macrophage foam cells. METHODS: (1) Cholesterol efflux induced by apoAI from mouse peritoneal macrophage foam cells loaded with OxLDL or acylated LDL(AcLDL) was measured. (2) Cholesterol efflux induced by LPC and apoAI from macrophage foam cells separated from normal or apoE gene deficient (E 0) mouse loaded with AcLDL were measured. RESULTS: (1) When the macrophage foam cells were incubated with apoAI, cholesterol efflux from AcLDL-induced macrophage foam cells increased significantly compared to that of OxLDL-induced macrophage foam cells. (2) LPC promoted cholesterol efflux from macrophage foam cells in relation to both dosage and time. When LPC was incubated with E 0 mouse macrophage foam cells, the released cholesterol mass was significantly lower than that of normal mouse macrophage foam cells. It was also found that cholesterol efflux induced by apoAI normally occurred in E 0 mouse macrophage foam cells. CONCLUSIONS: (1) OxLDL accumulated cholesterol in macrophages and impair cholesterol efflux. (2) LPC induced cholesterol efflux from macrophage foam cells, which may occur via apoE pathway.
