Inhalation injury is caused by inhalation of heat, toxic or irritating gases which lead to respiratory and pulmonary parenchyma damage. At present, the clinical understanding about it is still limited and lack of effective diagnosis and treatment standard. Based on the experience of diagnosis and treatment of domestic inhalation injury, combined with reports of international researches, criteria (expert consensus) for inhalation injury were systematically discussed from pathological and pathophysiological changes, clinical diagnosis and evaluation, and clinical treatment, which provides reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients inflicted with inhalation injury.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of fertilizers with the different proportional of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on growth and active ingredient of Astragalus membranaceus.
METHODField experiment was conducted based on the D-saturation optimal design with three factors of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The effects on growth and active ingredient of A. membranaceus were analyzed.
RESULTFertilization promoted the seedling growth and provided abundant supply of nutrition for growth of root, yield and accumulation of active ingredient at the later growth stage, and increased the accumulation of dry matter of stem-leaf and root system. The effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium application on the total dry matter accumulation of A. membranaceus was as following: nitrogen > potassium > phosphorus; the effect on the stem-leaf dry matter accumulation was as following: nitrogen > phosphorus > potassium; the effect on the root dry matter accumulation was as following: nitrogen > potassium > phosphorus. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer increased the root yield of A. membranaceus. Obviously, the effect on the root yield was as following: nitrogen > potassium > phosphorus. The application of different proportional with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium increased the content of polysaccharide and astragaloside, but had no distinct effect on the content of total flavonoids. The effect on the content of polysaccharide was as following: potassium > phosphorus > nitrogen, but the effect on the conten,t of astragaloside was as following: nitrogen > potassium > phosphorus.
CONCLUSIONNitrogen and potassium fertilizer application had more important effect on growth, yield and the contents of polysaccharide and astragaloside in A. membranaceus. During medicinal plants cultivation process, it should pay attention to the application of nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer and make balance application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

Gibberellin is an essential plant hormone that plays an important regulatory role throughout the life cycle of higher plants. A total of 23 genes involved in gibberellin action were identified from Phyllostachys edulis genome, including 8 GA20ox and 1 GA3ox genes involved in the gibberellin biosynthesis, 8 GA2ox genes involved in the metabolism of gibberellin, 2 GID1 genes involved in gibberellin perception, 2 GID2 genes and 2 DELLA genes involved in gibberellin signal transduction. Phylogenetic analysis of these genes from Arabidopsis, Oryza sativa and Phyllostachys edulis revealed that gibberellin biosynthesis, metabolism, and signaling pathways are conserved in these species. Treatment of seeds and seedlings of bamboo with exogenous gibberellin revealed that gibberellin significantly increased seed germination rate and stem elongation of seedlings, and had the best concentration of action. The expression levels of GA20ox and GA3ox genes in the bamboo seedlings were down-regulated and the expression of the active gibberellin-degrading gene GA2ox was up-regulated after GA3 treatment, and the transcriptional level of the gibberellin receptor GID1 and the positive regulatory gene GID2 was significantly increased while the expression of the negative regulatory gene DELLA was decreased. These genes have significant differences in the expression of different spatial locations of bamboo shoot stems, GA20ox, GA3ox, GA2ox, GID1 and GID2 are all expressed in the upper part of bamboo shoots, while the repressor gene DELLA accumulates at the bottom of the shoots and is hardly expressed at the top.

Insect larvae and adult insects found on human corpses can provide important
forensic evidence however it is useful to be able to prove evidence of association. Without
this, it could be claimed that the insect evidence was a contaminant or had been planted on
the body. This paper describes how mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and STR analysis of the crop
contents of larvae of the blowfly Aldrichina grahami collected from separated body parts
was used to provide evidence of association.

In order to accelerate the breeding of the excellent seedlings of Polygonatum cyrtonema, tissue culture system of P. cyrtonema was established through the comprehensive regulation of key factors( leaf age, leaf location, basic media and plant growth regulators) and cytological basis of callus formation and differentiation was analyzed through paraffin section. The results showed that the 30-day-old leaf base explanton medium MS+6-BA 1. 50 mg·L~(-1)+2,4-D 0. 20 mg·L~(-1) had the highest induction rate( 80. 00%). The callus was initiated from cells on leaf base epidermis and near cortex, formed by the differentiation of middle vascular bundle cells. The optimal medium for adventitious bud differentiation was MS+ 6-BA 4. 00 mg·L~(-1)+ 2,4-D 0. 20 mg·L~(-1) with the differentiation rate of90. 33%,and the average number of buds was 5. 16. The adventitious buds had two origin types: exogenous and endogenous origin, formed by callus proximal cells and callus internal meristemoid. The adventitious bud proliferation medium was screened by orthogonal design, which determined the optimum combination was MS+ 6-BA 2. 00 mg·L~(-1)+NAA 0. 10 mg·L~(-1) and MS+ 6-BA 2. 00 mg·L~(-1)+NAA 0. 20 mg·L~(-1). The tubers with three leaves were cut and inoculated in the medium 1/2 MS+IBA 2. 00 mg·L~(-1),showing the highest rooting rate of 94. 00%. The rooting seedlings transplanted into the peat-vermiculite( 1 ∶ 1) matrix grew healthy and the survival rate was over 85. 00%. This research provided a novel solution for large-scale cultivation of P. cyrtonema seedling.

Chinese Medical Journal 2013;126(11):2120-2124
BACKGROUNDElective radiation of lower neck is controversial for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) without lymph node metastasis (N0 disease). Tumor volume is an important prognostic indicator. The objective of this study is to explore the potential impact of tumor volume on the indication of the lower neck irradiation for N0-NPC, by a qualitative evaluation of the relationship between tumor volume and nodal metastasis.
METHODSMagnetic resonance (MR) images of 99 consecutive patients with NPC who underwent treatment were retrospectively reviewed. Primary tumor volumes of NPC were semi-automatically measured, nodal metastases were N-classified and neck level involvements were examined. Distributions of tumor volumes among N-category-based groups and distributions of N-categories among tumor volume-based groups were analyzed, respectively.
RESULTSThe numbers of patients with N0 to N3 disease were 12, 39, 32, and 16, respectively. The volumes of primary tumor were from 3.3 to 89.6 ml, with a median of 17.1 ml. For patients with nodal metastasis, tumor volume did not increase significantly with the advancing of N-category (P > 0.05). No significant difference was found for the distribution of N1, N2, and N3 categories among tumor volume-based groups (P > 0.05). Nevertheless patients with nodal metastasis had significantly larger tumor volumes than those without metastasis (P < 0.05). Patients with larger tumor volumes were associated with an increased incidence of nodal metastasis.
CONCLUSIONSCertain positive correlations existed between tumor volume and the presence of nodal metastasis. The tumor volume (>10 ml) is a potential indicator for the lower neck irradiation for N0-NPC.
