1.Multiple Perifollicular Fibromas.
Annals of Dermatology 1990;2(1):68-69
We report a case of multiple perifollicular fibromas. The patient was a 23-year-old female who had numerous skin colored perifollicular papules of 10 years' duration on her left cheek without any symptoms. Some of the perifollicular papules had a central comedo. A skin biopsy specimen of a perifollicular papule showed dense concentric fibrous sheaths surrounding the hair follicles.

An 8-year-old girl had a rice sized erythematous nodule secreting mucoid fluid situated above the right sternoclavicular joint area since birth. Histopathological findings of the lesion revealed predominant mucous acini, serous acini, demilunes of mixed acini and excretory ducts in the deep dermis compatible with salivary gland. Electron microscopic findings revealed a lumen and serous cells containing serous granules and rough endoplasmic reticulurn. Recurrence has not been noted following total excision of the nodule.

A case of multiple trichilemmal cysts (TC) is presented. TC is known to be a kind of keratinous cyst with lining cells showing trichilemmal keratiniration. A 63-year-old female patient presented with a 30 year duration of increasing in size and number of twenty five nodular lesions on the scalp. All twenty five TC on the scalp were totally excised and examined microscopically. However, the evidence of proliferation or malignant change like the previous case reports was not found in our case.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(5):871-876
BACKGROUND: Acne is a relatively common disorder, especially in the adolescent. The condition is characterizecl by comedones, papules and pusi:ules. Acne patients frequently wash their face. Cleansing with an effective agent is therapeutic and preventive for patients suffering from acne vulgaris. OBJECTIVE: The study was designed to compare thc efficacy and safety of a facial clemser consisting of 1% triclosan and 0.5% Ku Shen and a in in the treatment of facial acne vulgaris. METHODS: The study was camed out on two groups of people: a treatment and a control group. Efficacy and safety were assessed at baseline and at weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. Efficacy was determined by investigating counts of non-inflamatory open and closed comedones, and inflamatory papules and pustules. Global improvement was also assessed. RESULTS: At week 12, the mean counts in the differe,nt lesions were as follows; 11.2 versus 17.2 for total lesions (p<0.05); 9.4 versus 11.3 for non-inflammatory lesions (p<0.05); 1.8 versus 5.9 for inflammatory lesions (p<0.05) in the treatment and control group, respectively. A Statistically significant difference was observed in patients overall self-assessment (p<0.05). The Group applying the facial cleanser with 1% triclosan and 0.5% Ku Shen felt significantly better than the one applying the control facial cleanser. Some patients developed mild and transient local side effects. CONCLUSION: Cleansing three times a day with a facial cleanser consisting of l% triclosan and 0.5% Ku Shen was found to be effective ancl safe for patients suffering from acne vulgaris.

To cover soft tissue defect, various types of flaps have been used. Although lateral supramalleolar flap has been used as rotation flaps or reversed island flaps to cover defects around the foot and ankle, there has been no report about its application as a free flap. The lateral supramalleolar island flap has proves to be supplied constantly by the terminal branch of the peroneal arterys perforating branch. The free lateral supramalleolar flap has the same skin territory. Its vascular pedicle can be extended to the main peroneal artery and vena comitans, which can be obtained by dissecting the peroneal vessels between the distal tibia and fibula through the interosseous membrane. We have successfully transferred this free flap in eight patients from April 1994 to February 1995. All of the patients had full thickness skin defects which were caused by contact thermal burn, electrical burn, flame burn or traffic accident. There were no complications. From our experience, we feel that this new free flap have some advantages, induding vascular anatomy and long pedicle with large diameter and a relatively thin flap with minimal morbidity of donor site.

10.A Clinical Observation on the Renal Pelvis and Ureteral Tumors.
Korean Journal of Urology 1984;25(4):458-462
A clinical observation was made on 14 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis and ureter whose diagnosis was confirmed pathologically at Kyung Hee University Hospital during the period tom November, 1971 to June, 1984. The results were as follows 1. The age of patient at the time of the diagnosis ranged from 42 to 75 years (mean 57.9 years), with highest incidence during the 6th decade. 11 tumors occurred in male patients and 3 in female patients, for a ratio of 3.7 : 1. 2. Common presenting symptoms were gross hematuria (92.8 %) and pain (28.5 %). 3. IVP was performed in all patients. A filling defect in the renal pelvis or ureter was found in 6 cases, and non-visualized kidney in 6 cases. RGP was performed in 9 patients and was useful to demonstrate a filling defect. 4. Urine cytology was positive in 6 of 13 patients. 5. Nephroureterectomy including a cuff of bladder was performed in 13 patients and simple nephrectomy was done in 1 patient who was misdiagnosed as hydronephrosis due to UPJ obstruction. 6. The tumors were staged into 4 Stages postoperatively. 5 patients had Stage A tumors, 2 Stage B, 5 Stage C and 2 Stage D. 1 patient had Grade I tumor, 6 Grade II, 4 Grade III and 3 Grade IV. In 3 patients, there were synchronous tumors in renal pelvis and ureter. Three patients subsequently developed bladder tumor. 7. 7 patients were died in 3 to 18 months (average 7.8 months) after initial treatment and all were categorized into Stage C and D.
