PURPOSE: This study was designed to examine existing research on service marketing in nursing and identify the results by analyzing research trends in medical and nursing service marketing over the last 15 years. METHODS: Electronic databases were searched, including RISS, Korea Citation Index. The papers were classified by criteria, focusing on research topics, research design and statistical analysis method. RESULTS: From 2002 to 2016, 221 research articles on medical or nursing service marketing were published in local academic journals. Most of the articles were about service quality and satisfaction. Generally questionnaire surveys were used. There were 34 papers related to nursing service marketing. Most of them were about satisfaction and had used a questionnaire survey. CONCLUSION: Further research needs to be done with nursing service marketing topics including a variety of themes such as personal services and customer behaviors.

Purpose: This study is a hypothetical model of the effect of the leader-member exchange relationship on psychological ownership, job engagement, and turnover intention. Methods: Data collection was conducted for general nurses who have worked for at least 6 months in a university hospital. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0, and AMOS 18.0 program was used to conduct confirmatory factor analysis as well as goodness of fit verification and hypothesis testing for the hypothetical model. Results: The leader-member exchange had a significant, static effect on psychological ownership. The leader-member exchange relationship did not have a significant effect on job engagement and psychological ownership had a significant, static effect on job engagement.The leader-member exchange relationship did not have a significant effect on turnover intention and psychological ownership and job engagement had significant, negative effects on turnover intention. Conclusion Intervention and the development of programs to increase the psychological ownership and job engagement of members are proposed to improve the leader-member exchange relationship through leadership education and training and reduce the turnover intention of nurses.

BACKGROUND: Although a history of febrile convulsion (FC) is common in epilepsy patients, the preferential associa-tion of febrile convulsion with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is not clear. METHODS:We obtained the FC data from "Paik and Bongsang hospital" epilepsy clinic. We classified epilepsy syndromes into generalized epilepsy (GE), temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), extratemporal epilepsy (ETLE), unclassified partial and undetermined epilepsy by standardized criteria. The incidence of antecedent FC was evaluated in relation to the epilepsy classifications. We calculated kappa values for inter and intra observer reliability for the classifications of epilepsy syndromes. RESULTS: The agreement of epilepsy classifications were reliable (intra-observer kappa value=0.78, inter-observer kappa value=0.77). Thirteen percent of the studied patients (72/537) had a history of FC and 38% of FC (27/72) were complex types of FC. TLE was more likely to be preceded by FC 25% (42/166) than ETLE 6% (12/189), p<0.05 or GE 13% (12/93), p<0.05 and 85% of complex FC (23/27) preceded TLE. GE however, was more likely to have non-complex FC 100% (12/12) than partial epilepsy 55% (32/58), p<0.05. CONCLUSIONS We therefore conclude and agree that FC should be preferentially associated with TLE.

BACKGROUND: Infectious complications frequently occur after cardiac arrest and may be even more frequent after therapeutic hypothermia. Pneumonia is the most common infectious complication associated with therapeutic hypothermia, and it is unclear whether prophylactic antibiotics administered during this intervention can decrease the development of early-onset pneumonia. We investigated the effect of antibiotic prophylaxis on the development of pneumonia in cardiac arrest patients treated with therapeutic hypothermia. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who were admitted for therapeutic hypothermia after resuscitation for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest between January 2010 and July 2015. Patients who died within the first 72 hours or presented with pneumonia at the time of admission were excluded. Early-onset pneumonia was defined as pneumonia that developed within 5 days of admission. Prophylactic antibiotic therapy was defined as the administration of any parenteral antibiotics within the first 24 hours without any evidence of infection. RESULTS: Of the 128 patients admitted after cardiac arrest, 68 were analyzed and 48 (70.6%) were treated with prophylactic antibiotics within 24 hours. The frequency of early-onset pneumonia was not significantly different between the prophylactic antibiotic group and the control group (29.2% vs 30.0%, respectively, p = 0.945). The most commonly used antibiotic was third-generation cephalosporin, and the class of prophylactic antibiotics did not influence early-onset pneumonia. CONCLUSION: Antibiotic prophylaxis in cardiac arrest patients treated with therapeutic hypothermia did not reduce the frequency of pneumonia.

To study the site of release and factors affecting the release of the atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) in the pediatric patients, we measured the plasma ANP concentrations in 23 normal healthy children, 19 patients with congestive heat failure and 16 patients with cardiac disease undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization. The following results were obtained. 1) The plasma ANP concentrations of the vein(226.3(74.9pg/ml)in patients with congestive heart failure were significantly higher than those(p<0.01)of the mormal healthy children(13.4 (7.9pg/ml)and those(43.3 40(.7pg/ml)in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. The plasma ANP concentrations of the femoral vein in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization were also significantly higher than that of the peripheral vein in the normal healthy children(p<0.01). 2) The plasma ANP concentrations of the pulmonary artery(110.9( 80.7pg/ml)were 2 to 3 times higher than that of the femoral vein(43.3( 40.3pg/ml, p<0.01). However there were no significant differences of the plasma ANP concentrations between pulmonary artery and aorta(65.4 (36.1pg/ml),and between aorta and femoral vein. 3) There was a significant correlations of the plasma ANP concentrations vetween pulmonary artery and femoral vein, and pulmonary artery and aorta, but no correlation of those between femoral vein and aorta. 4) The plasma ANP concentrations of the vein were over 3 times more higher in cases of left atrial area over 20 cm2/M2 measured by 2-dimensional echocardiography(213.2 (292.9pg/ml)than those in cases of left atrial area under 20(65.0 66.9pg/ml, p<0.05). The plasma ANP concentrations of the vein were over 3 times more highger in cases of left atrial area over 20 cm2/M2(88.6(19.1pg/ml) than those in cases of left atrial area under 14(57.1 (39.5pg/ml,p<0.05), and in cases of the sum of both atrial mean pressure over 11mmHg(189.5( 42.8pg/ml) than those in cases of the sum under 11(79.3 (52.3pg/ml, p<0.01). The plasma ANP cocentrations of the aorta were significantly higher in cases of left atrial area over 14 cm2/M2(88.6 (19.1pg/ml)than those in cases of left atrial area under 14(57.1 (39.5pg/ml;p 0.05), in cases of the sum of both atrial area over 25cm2/M2(93.9 (21.7pg/ml)those in cases of the sum under 25(46.6 (33.8pg/ml, p<0.01), in cases of sum of mean atrial pressure over 11 mmHg(90.5 (30.3pg/ml)than those in cases of under 11(53.8( 24.6pg/ml, p<0.05),in cases of the sum of both atrial wall stress over 190 mmHg.cm2/M2(101.4 (23.5pg/ml) than those in cases of the sumunder 190(57.5 (26.4pg/ml, p<0.01), and also in cases of pulmonary artery mean pressure over 20mmHg(83.3( 18.2pg/ml) than those in cases o pulmonary artery under 20(47.8( 39.8pg/ml, p<0.05). In conclusion, the plasma ANP concentrations of the pulmonary artery were significantly higher than those of the frmoral vein and the aorta, which indicater that the ANP is predominantly secreted via coronary sinus into the right atrium. The plasma ANP concentrations of the peripheral and femoral vein, the pulmonary artery and the aorta, especially that of the aorta, correlated well with the atrial pressure, the area and the wall stress. This suggests that the arterial blood may be the most appropriate sample for measurement of the ANP.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the college and university student's perception on the brand awareness of contract foodservice management company in Incheon area. The developed questionnaires were distributed to the college and university students in Incheon area from September 20 to September 24 in 2004. Total 198 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis with response rate of 82.5%. The results showed that 85 % of the students has known that the foodservice operation was managed by contracted management company, only 56.5% of them have known the exact name of contract foodservice management company managing their cafeteria. It was recommended therefore that contract foodservice management company need more efforts for widening public activities for their company's name.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) can be used as palliative therapy to reduce obstructive symptoms in patients with advanced lung cancer. Herein, we report on the case of a patient with fatal broncho-mediastinal fistula after PDT. A 57-year-old woman was diagnosed as non-small cell lung cancer (squamous cell carcinoma, cT4N3). She received PDT on the endobronchial mass obstructing her right main bronchus twice in 48 hours interval. Two weeks later, concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT) with weekly Paclitaxel/Carboplatin was started. During maintenance chemotherapy, a new nodule in her scalp developed and turned out to be a metastatic nodule. A broncho-mediastinal fistula was suspicious on follow-up chest computed tomography and a broncoscopy revealed an extensively damaged medial right main bronchial wall. On the day following bronchoscopy, the patient died of sudden massive hemoptysis.

The purposes of this study were 1) to analyze the relationship between brand equity factors ie brand awareness, brand image, brand preference and brand loyalty and 2) to suggest the strategy for brand management of contract food service management company. The developed questionnaires were distributed to the college and university students in Incheon area from September 20 to September 24 in 2004. Total 198 questionnaires were used for the final data analysis with response rate of 82.5%. For the statistical analysis, the descriptive analysis, factor analysis, pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted by using SPSS Win (10.0). The results of this study showed that the following 5 hypotheses were supported. Hypothesis 1: The brand awareness of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand image of that. Hypothesis 2: The brand image of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand preference of that. Hypothesis 3: The brand awareness of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand preference of that. Hypothesis 4: The brand preference of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand royalty of that. Hypothesis 5: The brand image of the contract foodservice company affects positively the brand loyalty of that. As a conclusion, the brand awareness has a positive effect on the brand image and brand preference significantly, so it is recommended that the contract foodservice company should focus on improving the brand awareness as a brand strategy. And the brand preference and brand image have the significant effect on the brand loyalty. Therefore the company should strive to strengthen the brand loyalty though building brand preference and brand image, because the brand loyalty brings about the customer's more visiting the foodservices, which is directly related to the profitabilities of the contract foodservice management company.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to assess hospital nurses' knowledge, importance and performance in keeping nursing records.METHODS: The research design was a descriptive study. The sample for this study was 186 nurses with at least one year of work experience at a hospital with more than 800 beds in Seoul. Knowledge was self-reported using the Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale. Importance and performance were rated on a 4-point scale of 26 items. Data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 program and IPA.RESULTS: This study showed significant results that knowledge, importance and performance for keeping record are related to each other. The importance and performance of nurse's records were relatively higher than the mean. In the IPA Matrix, there were 2 items requiring improvement, 13 items requiring maintenance, and 11 items with low priority.CONCLUSION: Therefore, awareness of the importance of record keeping and continuous education on nursing record knowledge should be provided so that nurses can improve their record keeping skills.

Purpose: Preterm infants are known to be at a risk of neurodevelopmental delay; however, limited data are available on the outcomes of moderate-to-late preterm (MLPT) infants (born at 32 to 36 weeks’ gestation). The Korean Developmental Screening Test (K-DST) for infants and children is a recently designed screening test for Korean infants and children. The current study aimed to evaluate the neurodevelopmental outcomes of MLPT infants and investigate the risk factors associated with neurodevelopmental delay. Methods: A total of 119 MLPT infants admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of a tertiary hospital in Korea were enrolled. The infants were assessed during two follow-up periods (first: 16 to 24 months of corrected age; second: 24 to 41 months of corrected age). The perinatal factors in the NICU that were associated with delayed development were analyzed. Results: In all sections of the K-DST, the proportion of infants with developmental delay was higher in the second period (5.6% to 9.3%) than in the first period (0.9% to 5.4%). A total of 10% to 17% of the infants presented with persistent delay throughout the two periods based on five sections of the K-DST. Male sex, oxygen therapy duration, and younger maternal age were the risk factors affecting at least one section during the second period. Conclusion MLPT infants showed greater developmental delay than the general infant population. Considering that early intervention is important for good longterm outcomes, close observation of male MLPT infants and MLPT infants who received oxygen therapy is warranted.
