PURPOSE: This study was aimed to identify the effect of self-foot reflexology on the relief of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea in high school girls. METHOD: Study subjects was 236 women residing in the community, teachers and nurses who were older than 45 were recruited. Data was collected with self administered questionnaires from July 1st to August 31st, 2003 and analysed using SPSS/WIN 10.0 with Xtest, t-test, and stepwise multiple logistic regression at a significant level of =.05. RESULT: The breast cancer screening rate was 57.2%, and repeat screening rate was 15.3%. With the multiple logistic regression analysis, factors associated with mammography screening were age and perceived barriers of action, and factors related to the repeat mammography screening were education level and other cancer screening experience. CONCLUSION: Based on the results, we recommend the development of an intervention program to decrease the perceived barrier of action, to regard mammography as an essential test in regular check-up, and to giveactive advertisement and education to the public to improve the rates of breast cancer screening and repeat screening.

PURPOSE: This study was done to develop a death education program for nursing students and evaluate the effects of the program. METHODS: The education program was developed based on ADDIE model. The death education program was developed on the base of educational needs, a comprehensive review of the literature and focus group interviews and then evaluated with 53 nursing students, 27 in the experimental and 26 in the control group. Measurement was done for the meaning of life using the tool by Choi et al (2005) for attitudes concerning death, the tool Thorson and Powell (1998) revised by Kim (2006) and for attitude to end-of-life patient care, the Attitudes toward Nursing Care of the Dying Scale by Frommelt (1991) translated by Cho and Kim (2005). RESULTS: The program consisted of five sessions: Understanding of death, Family bereavement care, Communication and End-of-life patient care, Professional role, and Ethics and legal issues There was a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest for the meaning of life in the experimental group compared to the control group. About 82% of students in the experimental group were satisfied with the program. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that this program can be used to educate nursing students.

The cystoscopic manipulation was done in 52 cases of ureteral stones who visited the Department of Urology, Soon-Chun-Hyang College Hospital during the period of 18 months from May. 1979 to August. 1980 using Dormia stone disloger and the following results were obtained. 1. With the Dormia stone dislodger, 27 cases of ureteral stone were removed successfully. 2. The ureteral stone passed in 8 cases within 72 hours after manipulation. 3. Of the 27 cases, 2 cases were middle ureteral stone and 25 cases were lower ureteral stone. 4. The largest stone measured 6.5 x 13 mm. 5. There were no major complication but minor complication occurred such as fever, pain and gross hematuria.

Recent improvements in gray scale ultrasonic imaging and the development of real time ultrasound made it useful in directing the diagnostic examination and in determining which patients should undergo further, more invasive diagnostic procedures. Ultrasound scanning is cheaper and quicker than computed tomography and angiography, is not invasive and causes little discomfort to the patient. No intravenous contrast medium is used so that reactions to iodine and the difficulty in obtaining venous puncture, frequently a problem in children, are circumvented. There is no ionizing radiation or problem with breath holding. So we made a brief review of the clinical experience and value of ultrasound of renal diseases.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors on health behavior among patients with coronary artery disease. METHOD: The subjects were 95 patients who visited the out-patient department of a university hospital for follow-up. The four health belief concepts (motivation, benefit, barrier, seriousness), general self-efficacy, health behaviors on medication, diet, exercise, stress management, smoking, and drinking were measured. RESULT: There were significant differences in the health behavior scores of subjects according to family support and the experience of surgical procedure. Subjects were found to have a high degree of compliance in taking medication. However subjects reported the lowest degree of compliance in regular exercise. In the multiple regression analysis, surgical procedure and motivation were significant predictors to explain diet. Motivation and barrier were significant predictors to explain exercise. Self-efficacy, motivation and family support were significant predictors to explain stress management. Family support and seriousness explained 16% of variance in drinking. Also, family support explained 30% of variance in smoking. CONCLUSION: Since predicting factors on each health behavior indicator were different, then nurses should consider these differences to construct strategy enhancing patient's recovery.
