Esophageal perforation is a rare but serious complication of anterior cervical spine surgery. Various methods have been developed for it's repair, and due to its multifocal blood supply, considerable length in the neck, and proximity to many important cervical structures, a sternocleidomastoid muscle flap has, in particular, been successfully utilized. The authors report two cases of cervical esophago-cutaneous fistula treated with sternocleidomastoid muscle flap.

9.Enteral stents in the management of gastrointestinal leaks, perforations and fistulae.
Gastrointestinal Intervention 2016;5(2):116-123
Gastrointestinal leaks and fistulae are grave conditions associated with substantial morbidity and mortality. Expandable stents have shown significant success in the management of leaks and fistulae, providing an efficacious minimally invasive approach in patients who are frequently poor surgical candidates. Most reports, however, are limited by their small size or the pooling of different stents, techniques and locations of leaks and fistulae. Despite the numerous alterations in stent design, migration remains the pivotal drawback of this technique. In this article, we review the current status of expandable stents in the management of gastrointestinal leaks and fistulae, available anti-migration techniques and evolving innovations in stent design.

10.Congenital Esophageal Atresia Associated with a Tracheobronchial Remnant
The Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 2019;52(3):170-173
A rare case of esophageal atresia/tracheo-esophageal fistula (EA-TEF) with an associated tracheobronchial remnant (TBR) is reported and discussed herein. A 13-month-old patient was seen with a complaint of vomiting of solid food 1 year after EA-TEF repair. An esophagogram showed a tapered narrowing in the lower segment of the esophagus. A re-operation was carried out and a pathologic examination of the resected stenotic segment revealed the presence of a TBR.
