Objective To evaluate the clinical features and various diagnostic methods for sarcoidosis.Methods The data of 28 cases with sarcoidosis confirmed by pathology were reviewed and analized,and different diagnostic methods were compared.The disease was evaluated by regular serological tests,chest X ray film,chest high resolution computed topography(HRCT),bronchofibroscopy,and pulmonary function test.Results These patients shared a typical clinical presentation,consisting of dyspnea,cough,subskin nodes,enlargement of peripheral lymphnodes and splenomegaly.Laboratory test revealed elevated serum blood sedimentation,alkali phosphatase,Angiotensin-converting,and urine calcium.The saricoidosis was confirmed by pathological biopsy for bronchial mucosa,lung tissues,peripheral lymphnodes,subskin nodes biopsies and spleen.HRCT showed its superiority to traditional X ray film examination in fingding early staging chest sarcoidosis.Conclusions Chest HRCT and bronchopulmonary biopsy through bronchofibroscopy possess significant clinical value for sarcoidosis diagnosing and staging.And extropulmonary lessions biopsy also plays a complementary role to some extent.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of Truview~(TM)EVO_2 optic laryngoscope by comparing it with the Macintosh laryngoscope in patients receiving cervical vertebral surgery.Methods:One hundred patients scheduled for elective cervical vertebral surgery were enrolled in this randomized crossover study.After induction,the patients'glottis in group A (n=50)was displayed by Macintosh laryngoscope and the Cormack-Lehane(C/L)grade was recorded,and then optic laryngoscope was employed to display the laryngeal structure.The order of laryngoscopy attempts was reversed in group B(n= 50).Parameters recorded included demographics,airway assessment feat ures(BMI,thyromental distance,mandibular size,mouth opening,mallampati oropharyngeal scale,and neck movement),C/L grade,laryngoscopic force applied,duration of intubation, difficulties of laryngeal view and injury of upper airway.Results:There were no significant difference in demographics,airway assessment features,C/L grade and duration of intubation between the 2 groups,whereas the laryngoscopic force in group A was significantly lower than that in group B(P

Objective To analyze the clinical features of patients with prostate adenocarcinoma under 50 years.Methods Between January 2008 and April 2014,we reviewed 21 cases with prostate cancer under 50 years old.The mean age in those patients was 48 years old (ranged 42-49 years old).Their tPSA level was elevated,including＞10 μg/L in 17 cases,4-10 μg/L in 4 cases.21 cases were all confirmed by pathology.The results Gleason score showed 6 scores in 3 cases,7 scores in 6 cases (3+4 scores in 5 cases and 4+3 scores in one case),8 scores in 7 cases and 9 scores in 5 cases.In the study,clinical stage was for T2N0M0 in 16 cases,T3N0M0 in 1 case,T4NxM0 in 1 case and T3-4N1M1 in 3 cases.The treatments were hormonal therapy was chosen in 5 cases and radical prostatectomy was performed in 16 cases,including 16 cases with T2N0M0 stage and one case with T3N0M0.Results In those patients who accepted the radical prostatectomy,the duration of follow-up ranged from 3 to 65 months (mean 23 months).During the follow-up,14 patients had a lower incidence of biochemical recurrence.1 patient (T2,PSA 82.8 μg/L,GS 9) had external beam radiotherapy one month after the radical prostatectomy because of tumor invasion into the prostatic capsule.Then his PSA level returned to the 0.2 μg/L.1 patient (T3,PSA 38.9 μg/L,GS 8) had external beam radiotherapy 18 months after the radical prostatectomy because of biochemical recurrence and the tPSA level returned to the 4.0 μg/L.All patients who underwent radical prostatectomy had favourable recovery of urinary continence.In 5 patients who had androgen deprivation therapy,2 patients died after 63 or 65 months and one patient was lost to follow-up.The PSA level in one patient decreased from 71.8 μg/L to 2 μg/L after four months treatment.One patient had castration resistant prostate cancer and the adjuvant external beam radiotherapy was considered,subsequently.Conclusions Men under the 50 years old,who are diagnosed with localised prostate cancer,usually demonstrated the early clinic stage and high Gleason scores.It should not be discouraged from RP.Young men with metastatic prostate cancer have a poor prognosis.

Objective To investigate the effect of catalpol from Radix Rehmanniae on A?25-35-induced apoptosis of PC12 cells.Methods PC12 cells were routinely cultivated and treated by A?25-35(final concentration,20 ?mol/L) 24 hours after the addition of catalpol or saline.Forty-eight hours later,cells were examined for viability and apoptosis by MTT method and TUNEL method,respectively,while Bax and Bcl-2 mRNA expression were analyzed by semi-quantitive RT-PCR. OBJECTIVETo establish a method for studying efficacious materials of traditional Chinese medicines from an overall perspective.

METHODCarthamus tinctorius was taken the example. Its major components were depleted by preparing liquid chromatography. Afterwards, the samples with major components depleted were evaluated for their antioxidant effect, so as to compare and analyze the major efficacious materials of C. tinctorius with antioxidant activity and the contributions.

RESULTSeven major components were depleted from C. tinctorius samples, and six of them were identified with MS data and control comparison. After all of the samples including depleted materials are compared and evaluated for their antioxidant effect, the findings showed that hydroxysafflor yellow A, anhydrosafflor yellow B and 6-hydroxykaempferol-3, 6-di-O-glucoside-7-O-glucuronide were the major efficacious materials.

CONCLUSIONThis study explored a novel and effective method for studying efficacious materials of traditional Chinese medicines. Through this method, we could explain the direct and indirect contributions of different components to the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicines, and make the efficacious material expression of traditional Chinese medicines clearer.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a complex chronic progressive disease attacked by biological and mechanical factors and a result from the anabolic and catabolic imbalance in chondrocyte, subchondral bone and extracellular matrix(ECM). Etiology and pathological of OA are not yet entirely clear. The degradation and destruction of collagen II caused by matrix metalloproteinase -13 (MMP-13) is considered the core factor in the occurrence and development of OA. The research of MMP-13 inhibitor provide ideas and methods for the treatment of OA. In this article,the role and determination of MMP-13 in OA and the development prospect of MMP-13 inhibitor in the treatment of OA research progress were reviewed.

Objective To evaluate the possible association between RFC-1 polymorphism and cervix carcinoma.as well as the interaction between polymorphism and human papilloma virusl6(HPV16).Methods Based on a hospital-based case-control study.107 cases which were diagnosed as cervical cancer pathematologically and 107 controls with hysteromyoma,were selected by frequency,matched with age and habitation.HPV16 and RFC-1 A80G polymorphism were detected by special PCR and RFLP Results (1)HPV16 infection rate in CaseS(56.07%)Was higherthan that in controls(31.78%)with the adjusted OR with RFC-1 AA,RFC-1 GG had higher risk for cervical cancer with OR of2.42(95%CI:1.01-5.81).(4)No statistical significance was noticed regarding the interaction between RFC-l polymorphism and HPV16 in logistic regression method.Conclusion The introduction of RFC-1 80GG gene type could increase the risk of cervical cancer.

OBJECTIVETo establish an assay method for detecting the migration of transferred apoptotic cells into the recipient using flow cytometry.

METHODSSpleen lymphocytes were isolated and labeled with an intracellular amine dye, carboxyfluorescein diacetate succinimidyl ester (CFSE), to allow discrimination. The labeled cells were induced with dexamethasone to undergo apoptosis and transferred into recipient mice via tail venous transfusion. Flow cytometry and histological examination of different tissues were performed at different time points. The stability of CFSE labeling for apoptotic cells was also tested.

RESULTSThe CFSE-labeled apoptotic cells were highly fluorescent with a positive labeling rate of (98.0+/-1.9)%. The stability of CFSE-labeling was testified, and the CFSE-labeled apoptotic cells entering different tissues at different time points were detected by flow cytometry and verified by histological examination.

CONCLUSIONFlow cytometry using CFSE labeling is reliable, sensitive, precise and convenient for apoptotic cell tracing in vivo and in vitro.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the roles of expression and early protein E2 and E6 load of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) on cervical cancer in order to explore the relation between disruption of E2 and development of cervical cancer.

METHODSA case-control study was conducted, including 141 cervical cancer patients as cases who had been diagnosed by cytological approaches and histological approaches in Shanxi province Tumor Hospital, China. Two type of controls including 137 hospital controls with hysteromyoma by cytology or histology and eligible 129 controls from 1582 healthy women in the community who took part in community-organized physical examination with neither CIN2-3 nor invasive cancer, nor other gynecologic diseases were recruited. HPV16 E2 and E6 oncogenes were detected by multiple polymerase chain reaction (multi-PCR). The levels of E2 and E6 were analyzed used Bio-1D+ + software provided by VILBER pattern formatter.

RESULTSThe positive rates of HPV16 E6 in cancer cases (46.8%) were significantly higher than that in hysteromyoma group (24.1%) or healthy control group (2.3%) and accounted for 2.77 of OR (95% CI: 1.66-4.63) and 36.96 of OR(95% CI: 11.22-121.71) respectively. The expressions and loads of HPV16 E6 and E2 in cases were significantly higher than that in two control groups. Meanwhile, the expression or level of E6 was higher than that of E2 in each group. Disruption rate of E2 was 22.73% and the ratio of E6 to E2 was 1.24 in cervical cancer group.

CONCLUSIONThe positive rates and levels of HPV16 E6 or E2 found in cervical cancer were higher than that in hysteromyoma and healthy women. High expression of E6 and disruption of E2 might play an important role in the development of HPV-induced cervical cancer.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between contraceptive use behaviors and related knowledge and cognition among vocational high school students.

METHODSA computer-administrated anonymous cross-sectional survey was conducted among grade one students from three vocational high schools in a district of Shanghai. Based on Health Belief Model, four cognition indexes including perceived benefits, barriers, sex behavior related risks and self-efficacy were applied.

RESULTSAmong 1612 respondents, the students who had sexual experience accounted for 7.01% (113/1612). At first sex, 56.64% (64/113) of respondents reported contraceptives use; and the methods most reported were condom (58.70%, 27/46) and oral contraceptive (27.78%, 5/18) respectively for male and female. Most reasons for non-use were feeling shy to buy it (26.53%, 13/49) and the opposite sex's unwillingness to use (18.37%, 9/49). Among those who had experienced sex, 68.35% (54/79) and 68.42% (52/76) of respondents thought withdrawal and rhythm were effective methods. Only 23.26% (10/43) of subjects who had ever used condom could gain the full score of knowledge on how to use condom. A few respondents (22.86%, 24/105) who had sex experience knew that "If a person is infected with STD, he/she may not have noticeable symptoms". And 40.63% (26/64) of respondents who had not use contraceptive at first sex considered that "Infrequent intercourse cannot cause a girl pregnant even she has experienced her menstruation". The level of perceived risks was lowest among four cognition indexes. Contraceptive related knowledge and cognition may contribute to respondents' contraceptive use behaviors at first sex, and only related cognition contribute to contraceptive use behaviors at recent sex.

CONCLUSIONIt should be urgent to improve contraception knowledge and cognition among vocational high school students and provide youth-friendly contraceptive services.
