Epidermodysplasia verruciformis(EV) is a rare, often familial disease, associated with human papilloma virus. It is characterized by long-lasting, wide-spread wart-like or pityriasis versicolor-like lesions from early childhood and in about one-third patients, cutaneous carcinomas develop in adult life. We report a case of 57-year-old male with EV, with lesions only on the left forearm and the hand, who had been exposed to Agent Orange during Vietnam War.

3.A Case of Epidermodysplasia Verruciformis.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1975;13(2):119-123
We reported a case of epidermodysplasia verruciformis which occurred in a 15 year-old girl. She had an extensive eruption of plane warts on the face, neck, upper trunk, and extremities, especially on the dorsa of the hands and feet, with symmetrical diatribution. The skin lesions appeared initially on the forehead and gradually generalized. all over the body for 10 years duration. Skin biopsy showed hyperkeratosis with basket-weave pattern, thickened granular layer, vacuolization of many celIs in the upper stratum malpighii and the granular layer and acanthosis.

Epidermodysplasia vertuciformis (E.V.) is a generalized viral infection due to the wart virus, which is chacterized by wartlike papules often distributed over the entire body and generally starting in infancy, of which a high percetage develops into cancer. We present a case of E.V. in a 31 year old male with typical skin lesions resembling flat warts and tinea versicolor-like lesions that eventuated in malignancy, i.e., Bowens disease and squamous cell carcinoma on the forehead. The skin lesions appeared initially on the foerhead at the age of 6 and gradualIy generalized all over the whole bcdy thereafter. The light brown scaling papules on erythernatous hase and walnut sized ulcerative lesion on the forehead had been noticed for 4 to 6 years and identified as Bowens disease and squamous cell carcinoma.

We present a case of epidermodysplasia verruciformis a.ssociated with Bowen's disease. Patient was 33 year-old male and his skin lesions showed diffuse flat papules on face and neck, many brownish papules on trunk and papillomatous tumors also appeared un scalp and post auricular area, Skin biopsy findings from the flat papular lesion showed histopathologic features of verruca plana and from the papillomatous lesion showed the feature of Bowen's disease. Electron microscopic finding from the flat papular lesion showed marked aggregates of viral particles around the nuclei of epidermal keratinocytes.

Epidermodysplasia verruciformis(EV) is a rare, sometimes familial disorder characterized by chronic infection with EV-specific HPV types. It manifests itself as numerous flat warts, red and brownish macules, and pityriasis versicolor-like lesions. Immunodeficient staies such as AIDS renal transplantation, Hodgkins dis ase, and systemic lupus erythematosus, have been associated with EV. We report a case of a 42-year old female with EV, with lesions on the chest, shoulders, and back, For about the past 2, years, she had been treated with prednisolone for systemic lupus erythematosus. Histopathological findings revealed loose basket-weave-like hyperkeratosis and there were clear large cells arranged in nests in the granular and spinous layers. Their nuclei were shrunken and pyknotic, and the clear cytoplasm was dotted with dispersed keratohyaline granules of different sizes anr shapes. Electron microscopic findings showed aggregates of many viral particles in the nuclei of displastic epidermal keratinocytes. Pan papilloma virus monoclonal Antibody positive nuclei were shown by immunoperoxidase staining. She has been treated with CO, laser and Tretinoin(0.1% ) oin ment. The patient is being monitored for any signs of recurrence for a period of 5months.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2008;46(10):1432-1434
Epidermodysplasia verruciformis is a very rare, chronic disease that's characterized by persistent human papillomavirus infection. This type of lesion may transform into malignant skin tumors, usually after the age of 30 years. We report here on a 33-year-old woman who presented with squamous cell carcinoma and actinic keratosis that developed from epidermodysplasia verruciformis. Her malignant skin lesions were effectively treated by surgical excision, cryotherapy and topical application of imiquimod.

Epidermodysplasia verruciformis(EV) is a rare disease characterized by a unique susceptibility to widespread infection with human papilloma virus. It induces flat papular skin lesions, characterized by large vacuolated cells in the upper epithelial layers. We report a patient of EV in association with non-Hodgkin"s lymphoma(NHL) improved with systemic acitretin treatment. A 69-year-old man presented multiple red flat-topped papules and plaques on his face and upper extremities for 12 years. Past various therapeutic modalities including DPCP sensitization were entirely ineffective. Several years ago, NHL of cervical lymph node was diagnosed. With the treatments with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he is now in remission state. His skin biopsy specimen showed extensive vacuolation of upper malpighian layer. Bleomycin IL trial showed no response. Only 1 week after oral acitretin administration, his lesions began to exfoliate and became much flatter. Acitretin was effective but not suitable for maintenance therapy.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1981;19(2):227-231
A case of epidermodysplasia verruciformis associated with squamous cell carcinoma occurred in 21 years old male. He had extensive flat-topped papules on the face, neck and the upper trunk, and verrucous lesions on the extremities, especially on the dorsa of hands and feet for 15 years. Several peanut sized ulcerative lesions on the forehead were noticed for 1 year and identified as squarnous cell carcinomi. The akin test with dinitrochlorobenzene, tuberculin, phytohemagglutinin, candidin and dermatophytin showed alI negative. T and B-cell counts were within norrnal limits, but IgG and IgD levels in serurn were incresed.

Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2009;31(1):93-96
Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV), a rare inherited disease, is believed to be associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. EVER1/2 genes, dendritic cells, T lymphocytes, and the biological characteristics of HPV itself may play roles in the pathogenesis of HPV infection.
