1.The Mechanisms of Arsenic Trioxide-induced Apoptosis in Human Gastric Adenocarcinoma SGC7901 Cells

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the possible role of the alteration of mitochondrial transmembrane potentials(Δ Ψ m) in arsenic trioxide(As2O3)-induced apoptosis of human gastric adenocarcinoma cells(SGC7901).METHODS: Cell apoptosis was assessed through morphology, cell viability, the percentage of sub-G1 cells and phosphatidylserine(PS) externalization.the Δ Ψ m was detected on flow cytometry through double staining of Rhodamine 123 (Rh123) and propidium iodide(PI).RESULTS: The As2O3-induced apoptosis was associated closely with the disruption of the Δ Ψ m.CONCLUSION: The disruption of the Δ Ψ m is one of the mechanisms of As2O3-induced apoptosis.

OBJECTIVE: To study the mechanism of intestinal absorption of protocatechualdehyde .METHODS: Using invivo rat intestinal absorption model and HPLC, the apparent small intestine absorption rate of protocatechualdehyde was mea-sured. RESULTS: Under low, medium and high concentrations of drug, the apparent small intestine absorption rates of proto-catechualdehyde were 1.1 341/h, 1.1 637/h and 1.0 847/h respectively .CONCLUSION: The protocatechualdehyde absorptionmechanism is passive diffusion.
4.Effects of Common Surfactants on the Dissolution of Dioctyl Phthalate when Flowed through the Polyvinyl Chloride Infusion Sets

lecithin. No dissolution of DEHP was noted in lecithin. In a certain kind of surfactant, the dissolution of DEHP was positively correlated with the concentration of surfactant and the infusion time and the length of the infusion tube. CONCLUSIONS: The results serve as reference for the choice of safe infusion set when surfactants is contained in the injection and the choice of surfactant in the production of injection in pharmaceutical facoties.

6.Investigation of the pathway of apoptosis induced by arsenic trioxide in cancer cells

AIM To investigate the possible role of the mitochondrial transmembrane potential (??m) and caspase 3 in arsenic trioxide(As 2O 3)-induced apoptosis of cancer cells. METHOD Namalwa, SGC7901 and Bcap37 cell lines were used as in vitro models. Apoptosis was confirmed by sub-G 1 cells content as well as phosphatidylserine(PS) externalization. The ??m was detected on flow cytometry through double staining of Rhodamine 123(Rh123) and popidium iodide(PI). In addition, the effect of DEVD-CHO, a selective inhibitor of Caspase 3, on As 2O 3-induced apoptosis was studied. RESULT The As 2O 3-induced apoptosis closely associated with the externalization of the ??m and the activation of Caspase 3. As 2O 3 induced cells necrosis when Caspase 3 was inhibited. CONCLUSION As 2O 3 may selectively activates Caspase 3 after it induces externalization of ??m, which causes cancer cells apoptosis.
7.Tentative Discussion on Ensuring Patients' Rights of Knowing the Fact in Medication

OBJECTIVE:To ensure patients'rights of knowing the fact of medication.METHODS:The characteristics of medical care and the chief problems existed at present were analyzed.The significance and the necessity of ensuring patients'rights of knowing the fact in medication in hospital were discussed and some specific measures were proposed.RESULTS&CONCLUSION:Ensuring patients'rights of knowing the fact in medication embodies hospital's demand for"taking people as top priority",building a harmonious society,upgrading hospital's image and promoting rational drug use,which deserves great attention from the relevant hygiene authorities and hospital leaders.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the thoughts over the event of“armillarisin A”produced by Qiqihar No.2Pharmaceut ical Co.Ltd.METHODS:Citing the event of“armillarisin A”produced by Qiqihar No.2Pharmaceutical Co.Ltd.as example,we analyzed problems occurred in the process of production and management of pharmaceuticals and traced the root causes.RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS:Pharmaceutical enterprises should bear in mind their social responsibility and leave no loophole in the control and supervision of drugs,they should draw lessons from this event and prevent the similar event from happening again by working out effective measures to tighten controls on the quality of drug production,registering and approval,circulation,ADR reporting,etc.
10.Investigation of Dissolution of DEHP in Packaged Infusion Sets of Paclitaxel Injection

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the dissolution of DEHP in PVC infusion set and the packaged infusion sets of the Paclitaxel injection so as to evaluate the safety of clinical infusion sets for paclitaxel.METHODS:The packaged infusion sets of Paclitaxel injection were collected from 9 Three-A grade hospitals in Chongqing.Paclitaxel injections were prepared as per actual concentration needed by the clinic and dripped through eight different infusion sets(in which 7 were packaged infusion sets) for 3 h.The peak area of the collected solution was measured and its content was determined by HPLC,and the effect of infusion time on the dissolution of DEHP was investigated as well.RESULTS:The dissolution of DEHP dripped through eight infusion sets were 1 408,9 393,6 576.5,2 412.6,8 194.4,0,8 477.2,and 8 037.4 ?g,respectively.The dissolution increased with the prolonging of infusion time.CONCLUSION:At present,the majority of packaged infusion sets of Paclitaxel injection were made form PVC materials.The safe medication of Paclitaxel can't be ensured for the dissolved DEHP can enter the blood directly,thus its hazardness should be given great attention.
