1.Publication Trends in the Pelvic Parameter Related Literature between 1992 and 2022 : A Bibliometric Review

Objective:
: This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis on pelvic parameter related research over the last 30 years, analyzing trends, hotspots, and influential works within this field.
Methods:
: A comprehensive Web of Science database search was performed. The search yielded 3249 results, focusing on articles and reviews published from 1992 to 2022 in English. Data was analyzed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer for keyword, authorship, and citation burst analysis, co-citation analysis, and clustering.
Results:
: The number of publications and citations related to pelvic parameters has increased exponentially over the last 30 years. The USA leads in publication count with 1003 articles. Top publishing journals include the European Spine Journal, Spine, and Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, with significant contributions by Schwab, Lafage V, and Protoptaltis. The most influential articles were identified using centrality and sigma values, indicating their role as key articles within the field. Research hotspots included spinal deformity, total hip arthroplasty, and sagittal alignment.
Conclusion
: Interest in pelvic parameter related research has grown significantly over the last three decades, indicating its relevance in modern orthopedics. The most influential works within this field have contributed to our understanding of spinal deformity, pelvic incidence, and their relation to total hip arthroplasty. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the trends and influential research in the field of pelvic parameters.
2.Anorexigenic peptide (leptin, obestatin, nesfatin-1) levels and their impact on assisted reproductive technology treatment outcomes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

In this study we aimed to assess anorexigenic peptide levels in patients with or without polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and their effects on assisted reproductive treatment (ART) outcomes. Methods: A prospective case-control study was conducted in a tertiary care university-based ART clinic. Eighty-three patients were included in the study. The PCOS group included 41 patients, and the non-PCOS group included 42 controls. The 2003 Rotterdam criteria were used for PCOS patient selection. The ART indications in the non-PCOS group were tubal factor or unexplained infertility. Venous blood samples were taken on the third day of the menstrual cycle to determine the serum anorexigenic peptide levels. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method was used for laboratory analyses. Results: In the PCOS group, serum obestatin levels were significantly lower than in the control group, but serum anorexigenic peptide levels were similar in PCOS patients with or without clinical pregnancy. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) was diagnosed only in PCOS patients, and the obestatin levels of OHSS patients were significantly lower than those of other PCOS patients. Conclusion: Baseline anorexigenic peptide levels did not affect the clinical pregnancy rate in ART cycles. Obestatin may play a role in the pathophysiology of OHSS. This possibility should be confirmed in further research.
3.Dual trigger in normally-responding assisted reproductive technology patients increases the number of top-quality embryos

Objective:
The feasibility of a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) trigger in normal responders is still a matter of debate. The aim of this study was to compare the number of mature oocytes, the number of good-quality embryos, and the live birth rate in normal responders triggered by GnRHa alone, GnRHa and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG; a dual trigger), and hCG alone.
Methods:
A retrospective cohort study was conducted at the infertility clinic of a university hospital. Data from 200 normal responders who underwent controlled ovarian hyperstimulation and intracytoplasmic sperm injection with a GnRH antagonist protocol between January 2016 and January 2017 were reviewed. The first study group consisted of patients with cycles triggered by GnRHa alone. The second study group consisted of patients with cycles triggered by both GnRHa and low-dose hCG (a dual trigger). The control group consisted of patients with cycles triggered by hCG alone.
Results:
The groups were comparable in terms of demographics and cycle characteristics. The numbers of total oocytes retrieved and metaphase II oocytes were similar between the groups. The total numbers of grade A embryos were 3.2±2.9 in the GnRHa group, 4.4±3.2 in the dual-trigger group, and 2.9±2.1 in the hCG group (p=0.014). The live birth rates were 21.4%, 30.5%, and 28.2% in those groups, respectively (p=0.126).
Conclusion
In normal responders, a dual-trigger approach appears superior to an hCG trigger alone with regard to the number of top-quality embryos produced. However, no clinical benefit was apparent in terms of live birth rates.
4.An Analysis of the Potential Relationship between Crowe Type and Lower Extremity Morphology in Patients with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip

Purpose:
To test whether Crowe type is related to femoral alignment and leg length discrepancy by evaluating the preoperative lengths and coronal alignment of femurs, pelvic parameters and hip morphology of patients who underwent primary hip arthroplasty due to coxarthrosis secondary to developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).
Materials and Methods:
Medical records of patients with coxarthrosis secondary to DDH who were treated with total hip arthroplasty at Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine between 2008 and 2017 were reviewed. The mechanical axis of lower limbs was analyzed; pelvic height and femoral and tibial lengths were measured. All femurs were classified according to the Dorr classification.
Results:
A total of 97 patients were eligible for analysis and were diagnosed with unilateral DDH (n=51) or bilateral DDH (n=46). In those diagnosed with unilateral DDH, the affected pelvis, femur, and tibia were often shorter than the unaffected side. In those diagnosed with bilateral DDH, femoral and pelvic lengths were unpredictable. In the femoral coronal alignment test, data varied widely but were within normal limits. The difference in the Dorr types of femurs was significant between dysplastic and normal sides of patients with unilateral DDH (P=0.001) but not those with bilateral DDH.
Conclusion
Especially in patients with unilateral DDH, pelvic heights and femoral and tibial lengths on the affected side may be shorter compared with unaffected side regardless of the Crowe type. Femoral coronal alignment is unpredictable for both groups. Careful preoperative analyses of femoral coronal alignment and pelvic length are advised.
