To explore the cause and pathology of hemifacial spasm and evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of butulin A, 240 HFS patients were studied for therapeutic efficacy of multifocal facial injections with botulin A. Symptomatic alleviations after the injection were graded in comparison with the symptoms in the pre-treatment stage. Electromyography (EMG) was performed in 68 patients at random. Following the treatment, 96% of the patients were relieved of symptomes, but in 80% of the patients the symptom relapsed about one half a year later. The results showed that the latent period of EMG was longer than normal facial muscle, and the amplitude of evoked movement potential of EMG of orbiticularis occuli muscle and orbiticularis oris muscle was decreased. The cause of hemifacial spasm was resulted from pathological stimulation of the facial nerve, producing abnormal nervous conduction. The therapeutic hemifacial spasm with botulin A is an easy and effective method.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of constraint-induced movement therapy on hemiplegia in children.Methods30 hemiplegia children caused by cerebral palsy or trauma were divided into 2 groups.Treatment group accepts the Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) combined with Bobath approach. The control group accepts the Baboth approach only. Before after 12-week treatment, Ueda Test and the Brunnstrom's test were used to classify every stage of the recovery. ResultsBoth groups improved their motor function assessed either with Ueda Test or Brunnstrom's test, which was better in treatment group than in control group.ConclusionThe CIMT with Bobath approach together can remarkably raise the rate of utilization of the hemiplegia suffering limbs as well as improve the learned non-use of the suffering parts.

Psoriasis is one of the most prevalent autoimmune skin diseases. However, its etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear. Over the last decade, omics-based technologies have been exten-sively utilized for biomarker discovery. As a result, some promising markers for psoriasis have been identified at the genome, transcriptome, proteome, and metabolome level. These discoveries have provided new insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways in psoriasis pathogenesis. More importantly, some of these markers may prove useful in the diagnosis of psoriasis and in the prediction of disease progression once they have been validated. In this review, we summarize the most recent findings in psoriasis biomarker discovery. In addition, we will discuss several emerging technologies and their potential for novel biomarker discovery and diagnostics for psoriasis.

In this paper, the action of suet oil in the preparation of self-assembled micelles of the active flavonoids in Epimedium in the simulated human environment was researched. Twelve suet oil samples were collected from different growing areas and different positions of sheep or goat to simulate the formation of micelles. Then the effects of the fatty acids in suet oil on the preparation of self-assembled micelles were studied furthermore. The results showed that the micelles had a dispersed state and spherical smooth surface. To compare the diameter, potential, encapsulation efficiency and drug loading of the 12 batches micelles, the micelles prepared by the suet oil from Qinghai were more stable and had a higher encapsulation efficiency. The fatty acids in suet oil could promote the formation of self-assembled micelles, but the whole suet oil had a better effect. Above all the study, we confirmed that the suet oil promoted the formation of self-assembled micelles of the flavonoids in Epimedium, it laid foundation for further research about increasing the efficacy of Epimedium and improved the absorption of the active flavonoids in Epimedium.

Objective To compare the curative effect of high ligation+exfoliation and subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery(SEPS)for superficial varicose veins in calf+invagination spot-striping surgery in great venous varicosity. Methods Study group(42 patients)accepted SEPS+invagination spot-striping surgery and control group (42 patients)accepted traditional surgeries.Operation duration, bleeding volume in operation, the time of beginning movement away from bed after operation, hospitalization duration, the degree of pain, the scar, the recrudescence af- ter operation and the instance of the ulcer heals of two groups were compared. Results Operation duration, bleeding volume in operation, the time of begin movement away from bed after operation and hospitalization durations of study group were significantly lower than those of control group(P0.05).All of the patients in study group recovered without severe syndromes such as venous thrombosis, skin necrosis, lower limb functional disorder etc. They had no recrudesce after 4~16 months and were satisfied with the curative effect.Con- elusions The clinical curative effect of SEPS+invagination spot-striping surgery in great venous varicosity is superi- or to that of traditional operation and it has the advantages such as minor wound, few scars, light pains, short hospi- talization duration, without recrudescence, the ulcer heals quickly and so on.
