To explore the cause and pathology of hemifacial spasm and evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of butulin A, 240 HFS patients were studied for therapeutic efficacy of multifocal facial injections with botulin A. Symptomatic alleviations after the injection were graded in comparison with the symptoms in the pre-treatment stage. Electromyography (EMG) was performed in 68 patients at random. Following the treatment, 96% of the patients were relieved of symptomes, but in 80% of the patients the symptom relapsed about one half a year later. The results showed that the latent period of EMG was longer than normal facial muscle, and the amplitude of evoked movement potential of EMG of orbiticularis occuli muscle and orbiticularis oris muscle was decreased. The cause of hemifacial spasm was resulted from pathological stimulation of the facial nerve, producing abnormal nervous conduction. The therapeutic hemifacial spasm with botulin A is an easy and effective method.

Psoriasis is one of the most prevalent autoimmune skin diseases. However, its etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear. Over the last decade, omics-based technologies have been exten-sively utilized for biomarker discovery. As a result, some promising markers for psoriasis have been identified at the genome, transcriptome, proteome, and metabolome level. These discoveries have provided new insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways in psoriasis pathogenesis. More importantly, some of these markers may prove useful in the diagnosis of psoriasis and in the prediction of disease progression once they have been validated. In this review, we summarize the most recent findings in psoriasis biomarker discovery. In addition, we will discuss several emerging technologies and their potential for novel biomarker discovery and diagnostics for psoriasis.

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of constraint-induced movement therapy on hemiplegia in children.Methods30 hemiplegia children caused by cerebral palsy or trauma were divided into 2 groups.Treatment group accepts the Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) combined with Bobath approach. The control group accepts the Baboth approach only. Before after 12-week treatment, Ueda Test and the Brunnstrom's test were used to classify every stage of the recovery. ResultsBoth groups improved their motor function assessed either with Ueda Test or Brunnstrom's test, which was better in treatment group than in control group.ConclusionThe CIMT with Bobath approach together can remarkably raise the rate of utilization of the hemiplegia suffering limbs as well as improve the learned non-use of the suffering parts.
