Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(12):1257-1259
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of cervical cancer. Methods A total of 32 patients,of which 12 cases of Ⅰ b2,8 cases of Ⅱ a,5 case of Ⅱ b and 7 cases of Ⅲ, were all treated with 2 - 3 cycles of PF chemotherapy before treatment with cisplatin 100 mg/m2, d 1;5-fluorouracil 1000 mg/m2 ,d1-5. The chemotherapy was performed for 3 weeks followed by three weeks rest as one cycle. Results Short-term effect was 81.3% (26/32), with 3 cases of Ⅰ b2 and 1 cases of Ⅱ a had been completely relieved after 2 - 3 cycles of chemotherapies. Simultaneously, chemotherapy improved the removal rate of surgery. Among these 32 patients, there were 4 cases achieved complete response (CR) ,22 cases achieved partial response (PR) ,5 case of stable disease ( SD), 1 cases of progressive disease(PD). The overall response rate( CR +PR) was 81.3% (26/32) ,and the control rate ( CR + PR + SD) was 96. 9% (31/32). The main adverse events included myelosuppression and gastrointestinal response, which were all tolerable. Conclusions The neo-adjuvant chemotherapy reduced the size of cancer, which can improve removal rate of surgery and the quality of life.

Sulfur dioxide (SO_2) is an ordinary air pollutant globally and harm to human health. L-cysteine is the major sulfur-containing amino acid and its normal metabolism can produce hydrogen sulfur (H_2S) and SO_2. It is realized that H_2S has various bioactivities and is the third gasotransmitter after nitric oxide (NO) and carbon monoxide (CO). Recently, attention has been paid to the physiologic effects of endogenous SO_2 and its derivatives (bisulfite and sulfite) in vivo, and recognized that SO_2 and its derivatives can lower blood pressure, change heart rates, participate in inflammatory reactions, and so on, suggesting that endogenous SO_2 may modulate the physiologic functions in vivo as a bioactive molecule.

Clinical Medicine of China 2016;32(9):850-853
Early portal vein thrombosis is a rare but serious complication after liver transplantation, also is one of the main causes which lead to graft loss and receptor death. We collected domestic and foreign relevant data, and summarized and discussed the causes, clinical manifestation, imaging diagnosis of early portal vein thrombosis after liver transplantation. Early portal vein thrombosis after liver transplantation caused by multiple risk factors synergy. It was reported incidence of 1% to 2%. Clinical manifestations were concealment and lacked of specificity. Abdominal ultrasound and computed tomography angiography ( CTA) imaging methods of combi?ning could help early clinical findings,When necessary magnetic resonance angiography( MRA) . If each check negative, portal vein angiography could make a definitive diagnosis. Intravascular interventional therapy with small trauma, less complications and high success rate for advantages gradually became first?line treat?ments. Surgical treatment is not only as traditional effective treatments, but also an effective remedial measures after interventional treatment failure.

Objective To compare the T cell receptor recombination excision cycle (TREC) levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with normal age- and gender- matched controls. To investigate the correlations between TREC levels of SLE patients and their clinical features. Methods We studied TREC levels in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of 21 SLE patients and 22 normal age- and sex- matched controls. TREC concentration was determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (real-time qPCR) as the number of TREC copies/1000 PBMCs. The clinical features of the SLE patients such as systemic lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI) , ESR, C reaction protein (CRP) , ANA, anti-dsDNA and complement levels and organ involvement were recorded and assessed. Results SLE patients had lower TREC levels [ (9.6 ± 7.5 )copies/1000 PBMC] than controls[ (16.1 ±11.1) copies/1000 PBMC,P = 0.033]. There was an inverse correlation between age and TREC levels in controls (r =- 0. 614, P = 0. 002) but not in SLE patients. There was an inverse correlation between SLEDAI and TREC levels in SLE patients(r =-0. 656, P =0. 001) and TREC levels seemed to have relations to skin lesions ( r = - 0. 620, P = 0. 003 ). No other clinical association was observed between TREC levels and clinical and laboratory SLE manifestations. Conclusion SLE patients had lower TREC levels than normal controls and there is a tendency that TREC level is reversely correlated with disease activity. The decrease PBMC TREC level is indicative of a low proportion of recent thymic emigrant (RTE) in SLE and could be caused by decreased RTE output and/or by increased peripheral T cell proliferation in this disease. The under-representation of RTE in the peripheral T cell pool may play a role in the immune tolerance abnormalities observed in SLE.
