The translation methods of culture-laded words in TCM formula titles were discussed and analyzed in light of three-dimensional transformations of Eco-Translatology. Translation evaluation criterion was adopted as the degree of three-dimensional transformations including linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. This paper aimed to contribute to the translation study of TCM formula titles.

Podcast,a versatile web-based technology, has been widely employed in international nursing education. In China, however,it is only applied based on its video-related function. The other functions, such as subscribing, participating, mobile, and sharing learning option have not been fully exploited. The studies on application of podcast demonstrate that it can excite the learning interest, alleviate stress and anxiety, and enhance the preclinical educational experience. Moreover,it facilitates the self-study ability. Therefore the podcast is expected to be applied more widely in the domestic nursing education.

Objective To investigate the effects of oligochitosan on the humoral and cellular immunity in mice. Methods Divided the mice into four groups, test groups were given ip oligochitosan at doses of 60,120,240 mg?kg~(-1) for 14 days and the control group was given(0.9%) NS. The number of haemolytic empty spots, the level of serum hemolysin, the transform rate of T lymphocytes induced by ConA,delayed hypersensitivity were measured. Results Compared with the control group, indices including the number of haemolytic empty spots, the level of serum hemolysin, the transform rate of T lymphocytes induced by ConA,spleen ratio, ears swelling degree increased obviously in the dose of 120mg?kg~(-1) after two weeks of treatment. Conclusion Proper dose of oligochitosan can enhance the specific humoral and cellular immunity in mice.

Objective To systematically evaluate the effects of lidocaine on female patients during urinary catheterization. Methods A literature search was conducted in following databases as the Cochrane Library,EMbase,PubMed,CBM,CNKI,VIP,and Wanfang data. All included RCTs were screened and assessed according to the standard of Cochrane systematic review. The data were analyzed by RevMan 5.0 software. Results A total of 11 RCTs were included, involving 737 patients in the experimental group,666 patients in the control group. The results of Meta-analysis showed that there were significant differences between the two groups in the pain caused by intubation,one-time success rate of intubation, and agitation rate in anesthesia recovery period. Conclusions Using lidocaine for female patients before catheterization may reduce the pain, increase the one-time success rate of intubation, and reduce agitation rate in anesthesia recovery period. The results still need to be confirmed by more high-quality and large-sample RCTs.

Objective To assess the pituitary function in patients with pituitary adenoma after transsphenoidal ectomy of hypophysoma. Methods Data of 106 patients with pituitary adenoma who were admitted in endocrine department and underwent the operation in PLA General Hospital from January 1993 to January 2010 were collected.Assessments of pituitary function were made before and after surgery. Results Total 23.6% and 16.0% of 106 patients underwent pituitary function evaluation by 1 week and 3 months after surgery,respectively.23.5% and 5.9% of patients with hyopituitarism before surgery underwent pituitary function evaluation by 1 week and 3 months after surgery respectively, and the respective figures in those without hypopituitarism were 23.6% and 20.8%.The incidences of new onset of hypopituitarism among 106 patients that underwent surgical procedure were 48.0% within 1 week after surgery and 35.3% by 3 months after surgery. Conclusion The rate of re-evaluation of pituitary function by 1 week and 3 months after pituitary surgery was low.Probably, many patients were missed the diagnosis of hypopituitarism after pituitary surgery.

ObjectiveLoss-of-function mutation of p53,a tumor suppressor gene,is an important mechanism for the development of human cancers. In this study we tried to transfect p53N15-based fusion peptide into H1299,a lung cancer cell line, and evaluate the anti-tumor effects of the fusion peptide.MethodsAdeno-associated virus ( AAV) vectors were used for transfecting p53N15 fusion peptide into p53-null lung adenocarcinoma H1299 cells. The anti-replication effects of p53N15 fusion peptide were evaluated with inverted microscopy,MTT test for cell viability and flow cytometry.ResultsFusion peptides in H1299 cells was highly expressed and had detectable suppressive effects on cell proliferation.A large amount of dead cells were seen under microscope after the transfection of recombinant viruses for 72 hours.Cells activity was reduced significantly in the virus-transfecting groups as demonstrated by MTT test. The flow cytometry showed that a large number of dead cells were present in the virus-transfecting groups.ConclusionThe growth of H1299 lung adenocarcinoma cells could be inhibited in vitro by being transfected with p53N15 fusion peptide, which may be a potential gene therapy alone or as an adjuvant option in the treatment of lung cancer.

Objective To describe a case of female sexual abnormality with 46, XX caused by an androgen-producing adrenocortical tumor and to explore the mechanism of abnormal androgen secretion from the tumor. Methods The tumor tissues as the experimental group were compared with the normal adrenal tissue. The LH/human chorionic gonadotropin ( hCG) receptor was determined by immunohistochemisty, the activity of 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase ( 3β-HSD ) , 17α-hydroxylase ( CYP17 ) , and 17β-hydroxysteroid oxidoreductase ( 17β-HSD ) by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and the expression of mRNA of 3β-HSD2, 17β-HSDB3, CYP17, and LH/hCG receptor by real-quantitative polymerase chain reaction ( RQ-PCR ) . Results The immunohistochemisty results showed that the LH/hCG receptor was negative in the experiment group, but positive in control. The activity of 3β-HSD and CYP17 of the experiment group was higher than that in the control (P<0. 01), while the activity of 17β-HSD was lower(2 638. 798±70. 551 vs 9 148. 174±382. 836, P<0. 01) according to ELISA results. The relative contentof3β-HSD2mRNAoftheexperimentgroupwashigherthanthatinthecontrol(P<0.05),andtherelative content CYP17 mRNA of the experiment group was much higher than that in the control (P<0. 01). However, the relative content of 17β-HSDB3 mRNA and LH/hCG receptor mRNA were much lower than those in the control ( P<0. 01) by RQ-PCR. Conclusion Sexual abnormality and virilization could be caused by the excessive androgen secreted by androgen-producing adrenocortical tumor, which is an extremely rare disease. The mechanism of the secretion of androgen from the tumor remains unknown so far. It may be related to the increased activity of 3β-HSD and CYP17, but has no relationship with the expression of LH/hCG receptor.

Objective To screen down regulated genes and find down regulated novel genes in gastric cancer. Methods Genes mRNA expression were detected between gastric cancer and normal gastric mucous membrane of five patients using cDNA microarray. Genes mRNA expression signals on hybridization membranes were analysized with computer software. Down regulated genes in gastric cancer were screened. cDNA suppression subtraction library was established by counterpart normal gastric mucous membrane mRNA(Tester) subtracting gastric cancer tissues mRNA(Driver) of five patients. After identification of the subtraction library, positive clones choosen randomly were sequenced , and down regulated novel genes in gastric cancer were screened. Some of the genes were identified by RT PCR.Results Down regulated genes in gastric cancer consist of 60 genes including tumor suppressing genes, apoptosis related genes, DNA replication and transcript or translate related genes, cell cycle related genes, cell migration related genes, etc. Two unknown gene fragments in gastric cancer were cloned. Conclusions Sixty down regulated genes in gastric cancer are confirmed. They are involved in gastric tumorigenicity and metastasis. cDNA subtraction library of gastric cancer was constructed successfully. Two down regulated novel gene fragments in gastric cancer was found.
