AIM To investigate the effect of ke tamine on ATP-sensitive K + currents (I K ATP ) in single airway smooth muscle (ASM) cells of asthmatic rat. METHODS Single ASM cells of asthmatic rat were isolated with enzymatic dissociation technique. Effect of ketamine on I K ATP in single ASM cells was studied using the whole-cell configu ration of patch clamp technique. RESULTS Ketamine opened the ATP -sensitive K + channel (K ATP channel) in a dose-dependent manner. When the concentrations of ketamine were 1?10 -7 ,1?10 -6 ,1?10 -5 and 1?10 -4 mol?L -1 , the amplitude values of I K ATP were increased to 63 86?19 33 pA/pF(n=8,P

Objective To identify high?risk factors of white matter damage ( WMD ) in premature infants,in order to reduce the incidence and improve the prognosis of brain injury? Methods Five hundred and seventy?seven cases of preterm infants treated from January 2012 to December 2013 in the Pediatrics Department of Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University were slecteted?According to MRI of the brain at 2 weeks after birth, all the patients were divided into WMD group(133 cases) and the control group(444 cases)?Single?factor and multifactor logistic regression were used for the analyses of the high?risk factors of WMD?Results WMD incidence was 23?05%( 133/577) in 577 cases of premature infants, with 108 cases( 81?2%) of focal injury,5 cases(3?8%) of diffuse injury and 20 cases(15?0%) of periventricular leukomalacia(PVL) injury? There was significant statistically difference in different gestational age( P=0?017)?Multi factor Logistic regression analysis showed that metabolic acidosis(OR=4?489,P=0?000),asphyxia(OR=3?519,P=0?000),perinatal infection ( OR=2?650,P=0?003) were independent risk factors for WMD,while cesarean( OR=0?293,P=0?000) was protective factor for WMD?Conclusion WMD is a complex interaction outcome of multiple risk factors in premature infant?Perinatal hypoxia and infection are the main risk factors of WMD in premature infants.

Objective To investigate clinical features of chronic actinic dermatitis (CAD) in Kunming of Yunnan Province. Methods From October 2008 to October 2013,CAD in-patients in our hospital were selected and their general conditions, outcomes of photo-sensitive test and photo-patch test were analyzed in details. Results (1) Among 169 CAD patients, gender ratio (male:female) was 8.9:1.The lesions were mainly distributed on the exposed areas.(2) Photo-sensitive tests of 93 patients showed that the average value of UVA-MPPDwas 7.39 JPcm2 and that of UVB-MED was 20.91 mJPcm2.(3) The results of photo-patch test in 83 patients showed that 48 patients (67.8%) had positive reactions in patch test, and the most common contactant was balsam peru.Fifty-eight patients (69.9%) had positive reactions in photo-patch test indicating that the most common contactant in photo-patch test was balsam peru. Conclusions CAD appears mostly in the middle aged and the aged males and the lesions are mainly distributed on exposed areas. The most common contactants in photo-patch test are balsam peru and perfumed compounds.

Dysphagia is one of the widespread diseases in the aged which can lead to severe complications, such as aspiration pneumonia, even asphyxia. Therefore, early screening of dysphagia is vital for the aged. This paper reviewed the dysphagia screening scale for the aged at home and abroad so as to provide a reference for clinical workers to select the dysphagia screening scale and a thinking for the development of dysphagia risk assessment tools for the aged in China.

Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 2 (IGF2BP2, also called IMP2) plays an essential role in the development and maturation of germ cells and embryos and is a candidate gene for goat litter size, based on a previous genome-wide selective sweep analysis. In this study, the mRNA expression level of IGF2BP2 was found to be significantly higher in a single-lamb group than in a multi-lamb group. Insertions/deletions (indels) within the goat IGF2BP2 gene, including P4-Ins-13bp and P5-Del-12bp, were verified in 918 Shaanbei White Cashmere (SBWC) female goats. The minor allelic frequencies (MAFs) of P4-Ins-13bp and P5-Del-12bp loci were 0.349 and 0.295, respectively. Analysis using the Chi-square (χ2) test showed that the genotype (χ2=14.479, P=0.006) distribution of P4-Ins-13bp was significantly different between the single-lamb and multi-lamb groups. Correlation analysis demonstrated that P4-Ins-13bp was significantly associated with goat litter size (P=0.022), and individual goats with the homozygous deletion/deletion (DD) genotype produced more litters than other goats. Therefore, considered as a potential molecular marker significantly related to lambing traits, the P4-Ins-13bp mutation of the goat IGF2BP2 gene can be used in goat breeding with practical molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) to optimize female reproduction and improve economic efficiency in the goat industry.
