1.Effects of Chinese Drugs for Nourishing Yin and Clearing the Heat on Sex Hormone Regulation and Clinical Efficacy in Systemic Lupus Erythema tosus

Objective To investigate the effects of Chinese drugs for nourishing Yin and clearing the heat on regulation of sex hormones and clinical efficacy patients with SLE.Methods Fifty four active SLE patients with Yin deficiency were randomly divided into 2groups.Thirty patients in tr eatment group were treated with Pill of Wind-weed Phellodendron and Rehman nia(Zhibai Dihuang Wan)and Bolus for Replenishing Vital Ess ence(Da Buyin Wan)combined with western medicine for 2months,while 24patients in control group were treated with western medicine alone.Before and a fter treatment,the serum levels of f ollicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone,estradiol,pr ogesterone,testosterone,prolactin were measured by ELISA in 54patien ts,respec-tively.Before treatment the serum l evels of FSH,luteinizing hormone,estradiol,progesterone,testosterone,prolactin were measured in 30active SLEpatien ts without Yin deficiency and 25age-matched healthy controls simultaneously.Results The mean levels of FSH,luteinizing h ormone,estradiol were significant ly higher in patients with Yin de-ficiency than those without Yin deficiency and those in heathy controls(P

Objective To investigate the risk factors of flare in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods In this retrospective cohort study132cases of SLE were followed up for1~5years.The risk factors of SLE flare were analyzed by univariate and multivariate logistic regression with computer software,SPSS.Results Of the132patients,82cases had more than one flare,the total number of flares was115.The incidence of flare was0.22per patient-year.The frequency of flares within5years after diagnosis of SLE was higher than that in more than5years.By univariate logistic regression analysis the age younger than40years at the beginning of the study,age of disease onset younger than32years,stress,depression,overwork,pregnancy,suffering from infectious disease,and quick decreasing of prednisone dosage significantly increased the risk of flare(P
3.Optimization of fiber reconstituted technology for preparation of nasopore using fish scale collagen

BACKGROUND: Nowadays, fish collagen biomedical materials still exhibit obvious deficiency in thermal stability,in vivo degradation stability and in vivo material morphology stability. To expand the application of fish source collagen, it is urgent to improve the material performance by increasing the density and collagen molecule tightness of freshwater fish collagen sponge materials using technique methods.OBJECTIVE: To optimize the reconstitute process for nasopore preparation using fish scale collagen.METHODS: The optimal process for nasopore preparation through the reconstitution of fish scale collagen was ascertained by taking tilapia fish skin as a raw material to extract enzymatic soluble collagen at a temperature lower than the collagen denaturation temperature and recombinant rate of collagen fibers as index. Optimization of the conditions for nasopore preparation was carried out using single factor test and orthogonal test. The prepared nasopore was analyzed through infrared spectroscopy and microstructure analysis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The optimal conditions for nasopore preparation were determined through the single factor test and orthogonal test as follows: 20 ℃ for 10 hours at pH 7.4 using a mixture of 65 mmol/L NaCl and 1 g/L collagen, by which the reconstitute rate of collagen fibers was up to 68.6%. The prepared nasopore is characterized by a refined porous structure constituted by threadlike collagen fibers, and has complete three-dimensional spiral structure,which is a potential intracavitary hemostatic material with fine properties.

AIM: To set up a fingerprint analysis of Xintongning Capsules (Radix Notogenseng......) by TLC. METHODS: Silica gel G plate was adopted with developing underlayer of chloroform ethylacetate methanol water (15:40:22:10) under 10℃ resting overnight, 10% solution of H 2SO 4 in ethanol sprayed with and ginsenosides Rb 3 was used as standard substance. RESULTS: The result had 5 common spots. CONCLUSION: This method is accurate, reliable and provides a means for controlling the qualities of Xintongning Capsules.
5.Safety analysis of ultrasound guided percutaneous 125I radioactive seed interstitial implantation for treatment of pancreatic cancer

Objective To make clear the clinical safety of ultrasound guided percutaneous 125I radioactive seed interstitial implantation for treatment of pancreatic cancer.Methods 92 cases of pancreatic cancer treated with ultrasound guided percutaneous 125I radioactive seed interstitial implantation were retrospectively ana lyzed.Results All the 92 cases were performed successfully according to the preoperative plan.25 cases suffered puncture-hemorrhage and blood loss about 2 to 20 ml,and all got hemostasis successfully.2 cases had pancreatic duct injury during puncture,but no pancreatic fistula was found after conservative treatment.No case had bile duct injury.No digestive tract perforation occurred in the 55 cases whose puncture path was through the gastrointestinal tract.No serious complications occurred during the surgery.Conclusions Ultrasound guided percutaneous 125I radioactive seed interstitial implantation for treatment of pancreatic cancer is safe and reliable.
6.Sexual Behavior of High School Students and Its Relationship with Attachment to Parents and Peers

Objective:To explore the sexual behavior of high school students of Beijing and its relationship to parent and peer attachment.Methods:847 students of two high schools in Beijing were investigated with self-designed inventory on sexual behavior and Inventory of Parental and Peer Attachment.Results:The age of first menstruation among girl was 12.7,that of first semen loss of boys was 13.2.3.3% students had sex intercourse(in boys 16/350,in girls 12/497),the average age of them was 16.0.39.1% students had dating experience.The source of sex information came mainly from friends(38.8%),books and newspaper(24.5%),and school education(15.8%).Boys had more positive attitude to sex behavior of peers than girls.Students with safe attachment to parents were more conservative to sex behavior than those with unsafe attachment to parents.They also had less sexual behaviors.Conclusion:Sex behavior and attitude of high school students in Beijing have week association with attachment pattern.
7.Low salt induces the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 in a mouse macula densa cells through the activation of ERK、AP-1 pathways

Objective To identify the effect of low salt medium on P44/42 kinase(ERK)、AP-1 in the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in a mouse macula densa derived cell line (MMDD1 cells). Methods MMDD1 cells were transfected with luciferase reporter plasmid containing AP-1. Luciferase reporter assay were studied in normal salt(NS) and low salt(LS) medium; the expression of C-JUN、C-FOS were analyzed as well by Western Blotting. RT-PCR and Western Blotting were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression of COX-2. Expression of total and phosphorylated ERK was analyzed by Western Blotting in LS solution. The content of PGE2 in the supernatant was examined by ELISA. Results Phosphorylated ERK were markedly increased by LS treatment. The up-regulated COX-2 protein expression with LS was reduced with PD-98059 (ERK inhibitiors) at 20 ?mmol/L, PGE2 release was down-regulated as well. Luciferase activity of AP-1 was stimulated in LS, the up-regulated luciferase activity of AP-1 was attenuated by curcumin at 20 ?mmol/L (AP-1 inhibitor). The expression of C-JUN、C-FOS were increased as well. Low salt medium changed COX-2 mRNA abundance and protein expression was decreasedin medium with curcumin at 20 ?mmol/L.Conclusion Low salt induces the expression of COX-2 in MMDD1 cells through the activation of ERK、AP-1 pathways.
8.Interstitial implantation of 125I seeds for local and pelvic recurrence of rectal cancer

objective To clarify the significance and puncture path of 125I radioactive seeds implantation in treatment of postoperative local recurrence and pelvic metastasis in patients with rectal cancer.Methods Clinical data of 8 rectal cancer patients with postoperative local recurrence and pelvic metastasis treated by ultrasound guided 125I radioactive seed implantation were retrospectively analyzed and the therapeutic effects were observed.Results After the treatment,the symptoms of 5 cases suffering from hematochezia and 2 cases with vaginal bleeding disappeared within 21 to 30 days.7 patients with preoperative pain relieved after treatment.There was no tumor progression from postoperative imaging examination.Conclusion 125I radioactive seed implantation can effectively improve the life quality of rectal cancer patients with postoperative local recurrence and pelvic metastasis.
9.17β-estradiol protects cortical neurons from ketamine-induced apoptosis

Aim To investigate the effects of 17β-es-tradiol on the apoptosis induced by ketamine in primary cultured cortical neurons. Methods Primary cultured cortical neurons were treated with different concentra-tions of ketamine or 17β-estradiol respectively. 24 hours after various treatments, neuron viability was measured by MTT assay. The structure of neurons was analyzed using microscope. Apoptotic neurons were de-termined by the TUNEL assay. The level of pAkt ex-pression was analyzed by Western blot. ResultsCompared with the control group, ketamine decreased neuron viability in a dose-dependent manner. Com-pared with ketamine group, 17β-estradiol increased neuron viability in a dose-dependent manner. Lack of three-dimensional sense,faded color,uncleared outline
were observed, and fractured neuron axons or neurons death were also observed in neurons treated by 100μmol · L-1 ketamine. 100 μmol · L-1 ketamine in-creased the number of apoptotic neurons and decreased the expression of pAkt. 0.1 μmol · L-1 17β-estradiol decreased the number of apoptotic neurons and in-creased the expression of pAkt. LY294002 inhibited the protective effects of 17β-estradiol, the number of apoptotic neurons increased, and the level of pAkt de-creased significantly. Conclusion 17β-estradiol ex-erts the neuroprotective effects against ketamine-in-duced neuroapoptosis by activating the PI3 K/Akt sig-naling pathway.

Simultaneous distillation-extractor was used for extracting the volatile substances in Phellodendron chinense Schneid.41 Volatile components were identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method. Of them the main components are ketones(16.38%),aldehydes(13.94%),alcohols(8.27%),phenols(50.38%),esters(3.02%),acids(2.18%).The content of the 41 identified compounds makes up 97.50% of the total volatile substances detected
