1.The development of theory of "Seven kinds of prescriptions" and "Ten formulas of materia medica" in the Song Dynasty
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(05):-
"Seven kinds of prescriptions" and "Ten formulas of materia medica" were important classifications of prescription. According to textual research, the title of"Seven kinds of prescriptions" appeared fi rst in XU Shu-wei’s Shang han jiu shi lun (Ninety Essays on Cold Pathogenic Diseases), which was applied in medical education in the Song Dynasty. The title of "Ten formulas of materia medica" was beginning from CHEN Cang-qi’s ten kinds of "general drugs", and its concept was expanded from "kind" of drugs into "prescription" in Sheng ji jing (Classic of Holy Universal Relief) of the Song Dynasty. These two classif ications had great influence on classif ication of prescription based on functions in later time. The development of "Seven kinds of prescriptions" and "Ten formulas of materia medica" in the Song Dynasty was discussed, and the reasons was analyzed in this paper.

Objective To investigate the effect of Shuluo Injection on cerebral water volume, cerebral index ,LDH,NOS and SOD in the brain. Methods The model of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in mice is set up by separating the bilateral common carotid artery (CCA) of the mice, blocking the blood stream by straining the thread and by reperfusion loosing the thread. After 3 times of ischemia-reperfusion,brain samples were prepared to observe the cerebral injury. Results High-dose Shuluo Injection significantly reduced the cerebral water volume and decreased the cerebral index and the activity of LDH and NOS(P

Objective To investigate the protective mechanism of Salvianolic acid B (Sal B) on experimental in-vivo myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI)in rats. Methods Rats model of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced by ischemia for 60 min and then reperfusion for 60 min. After treatment, endothelin (ET) levels in plasma and the homogenate of myocardial tissue, and serum levels of nitric oxide (NO) and NO synthase were measured. Meanwhile, the pathological changes of myocardial tissue were also observed. Results Compared with the model group,middle-dose and high-dose Sal B could depress the ET levels in the plasma and the myocardial tissue, and increase the content of serum NO and NOS (P

Objective:To evaluate the effect of shikonin on the expression of RANTES and chemotactic activity of monocyte in endometriosis. Methods:Established SCID endometriosis models and cultured U937 cells were treated by a series of concentration of shikonin.RANTES transcriptive expression was determined by Real-time PCR,and RANTES secretion was determined by ELISA.Furthermore,Chemotaxis assay in vitro was conducted to elucidate the effect of shikonin on chemotaxis of U937 cells by RANTES.Results:Shikonin improved the RANTES transcription of human endometrium transplanted to SCID mouse(P

The paper is focused on a kind of portable monitor that is widely used in military hospitals. In order to study the electromagnetic radiation immunity of the monitor, the experiments of electromagnetic radiation caused by radio frequency continuous wave in reverberation chamber and by ultra wide band (UWB) electromagnetic pulse have been done. The study results show that UWB electromagnetic pulse interferes observably the operating state of the monitor. It should be paid high attention to take protective measures. The monitor tested has some electromagnetic immunity ability for radio frequency continuous wave radiation. The frequent abnormal phenomena are baseline drift and waveform distortion. The electromagnetic sensitivity of the monitor is related to the frequency of interference source. The monitor tested is most sensitive to the frequency of 390 MHz.

Objective To explore the feasibility using aluminum tripolyphosphate as the synthesis of aspirin model instead of sulfuric acid catalyst. Methods The thermodynamic functions of the reaction system of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride were calculated according to the Benson group contribution method and Joback group contribution method. The enthalpy change, entropy and Gibbs free energy along with the change of temperature as well as the influence of the molar rate of reactants on the equilibrium conversation rate were also studied. Results In the temperature range of 298.15 K to 358.15 K,the reaction enthalpy was less than zero, and was exothermic reaction, and increase of temperature was not conducive to the reaction. The improvement of mole ratio of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride was helpful to improve the equilibrium conversation rate. The theoretical conversion rate could reach 99.58% when the mole ratio of salicylic acid and acetic anhydride was 3.Conclusion From the viewpoint of thermodynamics, the reaction is practical and feasible.

Objective To study the mRNA expressions of Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2 and 4 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients with leprosy. Methods SYBR Green fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR was conducted to detect the mRNA expressions of TLR2 and 4 in PBMCs from 30 patients with cured leprosy, 30 patients with active leprosy and 30 normal human controls. Results The expression of TLR2 mRNA in patients with active leprosy was significantly higher than that in those with cured leprosy and in controls (both P < 0.01 ), but there was no significant difference between the latter two groups (P > 0.05). The expression of TLR4 mRNA was of no significant difference between patients with active leprosy and those with cured leprosy orthe controls (both P> 0.05). Conclusion The expression of TLR2 mRNA is decreased in PBMCs from leprosy patients, suggesting that TLR2 may be a specific recognition receptor in patients with leprosy.

AIM: To explore the molecular mechanism of anti-shock effect of Shenmai (SM) injection and to observe its influence on TLR4 and I?B mRNA expression in hemorrhagic shock (HS) plus LPS rat lung. METHODS: Rats were divided into HS, HS+LPS, HS+LPS+ dexamethasone (DEX), HS+LPS+SM group, respectively. HS+LPS injury model of rats were induced by hemorrhagic shock (MAP 40 mmHg for 10 min) followed by intravenous administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 1.5 mg/kg). Four hours later, the TNF-? contents in lung tissue were measured by ELISA, TLR4 mRNA and I?B? mRNA expression were assayed by RT-PCR, ultrastructural changes of the type Ⅱ alveolar cell were observed by electron microscope. RESULTS: The TLR4 mRNA expression level in HS+LPS+SM group was significantly decreased as compared to HS+LPS group (P

Objective To investigate the characteristic of movement disorders,so as to improve their diagnosis and treatment. Methods The clini?cal data of patients with movement disorders that admitted in the dystonia and Botox outpatient department were analyzed. Results Cases of involun?tary movement were significantly more than the primary dystonia, and case of primary hemifacial spasm was dominant(163 cases,61.05%). Among the 66 cases of primary dystonia, blepharospasm was ranked the first(19 cases),the second was spasmodic torticollis(18 cases),and the third was Meige syndrome(12 cases). There was no statistical significance in the gender distribution among primary hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, spas?modic torticollis and Meige syndrome. Instead, there was statistical significance in the treatment methods(P<0.05),and there was statistical signifi?cance in the mean treatment and onset age(P<0.05). Of the 163 cases with primary hemifacial spasm, the mean onset age was 44.22±12.22 years, and the ratio of men to women was 1∶2.4. There were statistical significances in the mean onset age and duration among the patients with different severity degrees(all P<0.05). Conclusion Primary hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, spasmodic torticollis and Meige syndrome are the com?mon disease in outpatient department. The primary hemifacial spasm is dominant, women are more than men,and the onset age and/or duration are proportional to the severity degree.
