1.Analysis of success rate and safety of artery blood-collection in 600 cases

Objective:To analyze the success rate and safety of artery blood-collection from related artery and provide reference for clinical work.Methods:A total of 600 patients in need of artery blood-collection ,who visited to our hospital from Jul 2013 to Sep 2013,were selected.They were randomly divided into femoral artery blood-collection group (n=120,femoral group),radial artery blood-collection group (n= 240,radial group)and brachial artery blood-collection group (n=240,brachial group).Success rate of puncture and incidence rate of adverse reactions were compared among three groups.Results:Success rates of puncture in femoral group and brachial group were sig-nificantly higher than that of radial group (95.00%,92.92% vs.86.67%,P <0.01 all),there was no significant difference between femoral group and brachial group,P >0.05;incidence rate of adverse reactions in femoral group was significantly higher than those of radial group and brachial group (11.67% vs.5.83%,5.00%),there was no significant difference between radial group and brachial group,P >0.05. Conclusion:Synthetic judgment:Success rate of puncture is higher and incidence rate of adverse reactions is lower for brachial artery blood-collection,so it may be regarded as preferred.
2.Effect of sevoflurane anesthesia in the neonatal period on cognitive function and acetylcholinesterase activity in hippocampus in developmental stages in rats

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of sevoflurane anesthesia in the neonatal period on cognitive function and acetylcholinesterase(AChE) activity in hippocampus in developmental stages in rats.Methods Eighty 7 day-old SD rats weighing 12-16 g were randomly divided into 5 groups( n = 16 each):groups A and B inhaled 3 % sevoflurane in oxygen for 6 and 2 h respectively; groups C and D inhaled 1.5 % sevoflurane in oxygen for 6 and 2 h respectively; group E inhaled oxygen only.The cognitive function was assessed using Morris water maze test in weaning period(16-21 day-old) and sexual maturity period (55-60 day-old) respectively.The rats were sacrificed at 30 min after Morris water maze test was finished at 21 and 60 d after birth,and the hippecampus were removed for determination of AChE activity using colorimetry method.ResultsCompared with group E,escape latency was prolonged during 17-20 d after birth in group A,and at 18,19 d after birth in groups B and C,and at 18 d after birth in group C,and AChE activity increased at 21 d after birth in group A( P < 0.05 or 0.01 ).Compared with group A,escape latency was shortened at 19,20 d after birth,and AChE activity decreased at 21 d after birth in groups B and C( P < 0.05 or 0.01).Compared with groups B and C,escape latency was shortened at 19,20 d after birth in group D( P < 0.05).There were no significantly differences in probe time in original platform quadrant,frequency of crossing the original platform and AChE activity at 60 d after birth and escape latency during sexual maturity period among the 5 groups( P > 0.05).ConclusionSevoflurane anesthesia in the neonatal period can reversible decrease the congnitive function in developmental stages in rats in concentration and time dependent manners,and the mechanism may be related to increasing the AChE activity in hippocampus.

4.Revision of the Chinese Version of the FACT-B for Patients with Breast Cancer

Objective: To revise and evaluate the Chinese version of the FACT-B. Method: The Chinese version of the FACT-B was translated from the original one, after back-translated and culture adaptation, it was applied to 165 patients with breast cancer. Result: The test-retest reliability of five domains, such as physical well-being, social/family well-being, emotional well-being, functional well-being, additional concerns and the overall scale were 0.82~0.89. The internal consistency alpha for the five domains were 0.61~0.84. After admission to hospital 2-4 weeks, the quality of life of patients showed some change in this scale. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the FACT-B has good psychometric quality and can be used to assess the quality of life of Chinese patients with breast cancer.
5.Dynamic monitoring of leukocytes in patients undergoing renal transplantation

BACKGROUND: Changes of leukocytes are related with some postoperative complications after renal transplantation. OBJECTIVE: To observe dynamically the level of white blood cell (WBC) and its morphological changes using automatic blood cell analyzer to evaluate its relationship with infection, immunosuppressive intoxation and acute rejection. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: Observation and controlled trial was performed at Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University from June 2004 to October 2005. PARTICIPANTS: Sixty-eight patients who received renal transplantation were selected. According to clinical symptoms and laboratory biochemical indexes, X-ray, B ultrasound, and renal puncture biopsy, the patients were divided into stable group (n=36), infection group (n=9), intoxation group (n=6) and acute rejection group (n=13). METHODS: The blood routine was tested with Sysmex XE-2100 automatic blood analyzer following renal transplantation and WBC manual differentiation was done to observe peripheral blood morphology, their liver function. In addition, renal and liver functions were detected by automatic biochemical system 7600A. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: WBC count and its morphological changes in peripheral blood and liver and renal function after renal transplantation. 6.Logistic Regression Analysis of Gallbladder Lesions of≥1 cm in Diameter Diagnosed by Ultrasound

Purpose To establish Logistic regression model of gallbladder lesions of≥1 cm in diameter diagnosed by ultrasound, and to filter benign and malignant sonographic features. Materials and Methods The sonographic features were retrospectively analyzed in 165 patients with gallbladde apophysis lesions of≥1 cm in diameter which confirmed by pathology, including the number of lesions, size, shape and basal width, gallstones, continuous gallbladder wall continuous, blood flow signals detected by color Doppler flow imaging. Logistic regression model with bipartition was established by multivariate Logistic regression analysis, and the efficiency of Logistic regression model was evaluated to predict benign or malignant of these lesions. Results Three characteristic variables, including lesion morphology, basal width and flow signals, were took into the Logistic regression model by binary Logistic regression analysis, which was the sensitive indicators can differentiate the benign or malignant gallbladder lesions. The accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of this model were 97.0%, 93.8%and 97.3%for predicting the benign or malignant gallbladder apophysis lesions≥1 cm in diameter, respectively. Area under ROC was 0.979. Conclusion Binary Logistic regression analysis can filter the sonographic features which can differentiate the benign or malignant gallbladder apophysis lesions≥1 cm in diameter, and lesion morphology, basal width and flow signals are of important differential diagnosis value of benign lesions or malignant lesions.
7.Clinical characteristics of 42 cases of malignant endometrial polyps

Objective To investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics of premalignant and malignant endometrial polyps (EP) in premenopausal and postmenopausal women.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted in 42 cases of premalignant and malignant EP from 1993 to 2012.Polyps were classified into premenopausal (group A,10 cases) and menopausal (group B,32 cases),including 26 cases of endometrioid adenocarcinoma,4 of clear cell carcinoma,9 of serous adenocarcinoma,and 3 of atypical hyperplasia.Results The prevalence rate of premalignant and malignant EP was 1.42% (42/2 965),the prevalence rate of malignancy in postmenopausal and postmenopausal women was 0.48% (10/2 064) and 3.55% (32/901),respectively.The mean size of EP was (1.6 ± 0.8) cm,abnormal uterine bleeding was positive in 90% (38/42) of cases.The EP pathological diagnosis showed all were endometrioid adenocarcinoma in group A,while there were 4 of clear cell carcinoma,9 of serous adenocarcinoma in group B.The mean size of EP was (1.1 ± 0.6) and (1.7 ± 0.9) cm in group A and B respectively (P <0.05).According to immunohistochemistry,all cases of group A were ER positive,but 41% (11/27) of group B were ER negative (P =0.059).The PR positive rate was 8/9 and 56% (15/27) in group A and B,respectively (P =0.169).Conclusions The risk of the EP malignancy rate is higher,while ER,PR positive rate are lower in postmenopausal womcn.Postmenopausal EP,especially accompanied by abnormal uterine bleeding and large polyps should be removed as soon as possible.
8.The EvaIuation of Auditory and VerbaI AbiIity in 107 Pre-LinguaIIy Deaf ChiIdren with CochIear ImpIantation

Objective To evaluate the auditory and verbal abilities of cochlear implantees using question_naires ,to explore basic rules of the development of auditory and verbal abilities ,and to analyze their relationships with some influencing factors .Methods A retrospective analysis of 107 cases of pre-lingually deaf children with cochlear implantation was conducted with Infant-Toddler Meaningful Auditory Integration Scale/Meaningful Audi_tory Integration Scale (IT -MAIS/MAIS) ,categories of auditory performance (CAP) and speech intelligibility rat_ing (SIR) for the evaluation of auditory and verbal abilities .An analysis was performed to assess influencing fac_tors ,such as postoperative time ,age at implantation ,physical age at follow -up ,time with hearing aids before im_plantation .SAS 9 .1 .3 was used in statistical analysis .ResuIts A total of 107 pre-lingually deaf children (48 males and 59 females) participated in this study .The postoperative time ranged from 0 to 49 months ,with an average of 9 .0 ± 10 .9 months .The results showed the postoperative time and age at implantation had significant influences on the scores of IT -MAIS/MAIS ,and postoperative time and physical age at follow -up had significant influences on the scores of CAP/SIR (P<0 .05) ,and hearing aids (HA) usage before implantation had no significant influences on these three questionnaires (P>0 .05) .ConcIusion The ages at implantation ,postoperative time and physical age had significant influences on the auditory and verbal abilities of pre-lingually deaf children with cochlear implanta_tion .Further studies are needed to explore their relationships with hearing aids usage before implantation .
9.Effects of sevoflurane anesthesia on learning and memory function and S100β protein in the 7-day-old rat

Objective To investigate the effects of sevoflurane anesthesia on learning and memory functions and S100β protein in anaplasis in the 7-day-old rat.Methods 48 SD rats of both sexes aged 7-day-old weighing 1 2-1 6 g were randomly divided into 3 groups (1 6 rats in each group):group A and group B inhaled 3 % sevoflurane in oxygen(1L/min) for 6h and 2h respectively; group C inhaled oxygen(1L/min) only.After inhalation,the effects of sevoflurane anesthesia on learning and memory function were assessed by Morris water-maze test and Y-maze test from 16d to 24d.The rats were killed in the day of 8d and 25d respectively,and the blood were collected for the expression of serum concentration S100β protein by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results (1) Results of Morris water-maze test:Compared with group C,escape latency prolonged in group A and group B in 17-20d(P < 0.05 or 0.01) ;escape latency prolonged in group A compared with group B in 19-20d(P < 0.01) ;but there were no significant differences in the probe time in original platform quadrant and the frequency of crossing original platform among three groups(P >0.05).(2) Result of Y-maze test:In 22d,the total reaction time of group A and B were longer than group C (P <0.05 or 0.01),and the error number was increased in group A and B compared with group C(P < 0.01) ; while in 23-24d,there were no significant differences between every index of each groups (P > 0.05).(3) Results of the blood serum index:In 8d,serum concentration of S100β protein was significantly increased in group A and B compared with group C (P <0.01),and serum concentration of S100β protein was significantly increased in group A compared with group B (P < 0.05) ; But there were no significant differences in serum concentration of S100β protein of each groups in 25d(P > 0.05).Conclusion Sevoflurane anesthesia in the 7-day-old rat can temporarily decrease the ability of learning and memory functions in the length of inhalation time dependent manner,and the mechanism may be related to the increased expression of serum concentration of S100β protein transiently.
10.The influence of group B streptococcus screening to newborns

Objective To explore the influence of group B Streptococcus screening during pregnancy and the incidence of the ear‐ly‐onset GBS disease for newborns .Methods Totally 47 cases of pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes (PROM ) , which were GBS positive and accepted antibiotic treatment ,who were chosen as the experimental group .While 73 cases of pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes (PROM) ,which were not accept GBS screening and antibiotic treatment ,were chosen as control group .The neonatal clinical manifestations were observed .The swab specimens were collected from throat and detected of GBS by using PCR method .Results The experimental group showed no occurrence of neonatal group B streptococcal infection , dyspnea ,cyanosis and fever .Totally 7 cases of the control group had group B Streptococcus infection .Totally 2 cases had dyspnea and 2 cases had cyanosis .Totally 4 cases had fever .The neonatal research indicators of these two groups were statistically signifi‐cant differences (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The group B Streptococcus screening during pregnancy would effectively reduce the inci‐dence of neonatal infection of group B Streptococcus .
