BACKGROUND: Bone morphological stereological observation is limited due to the difficulty in human experimental bone access. Animal studies overcome the limitation of human experiments and can directly evaluate bone quality through bone stereological histomorphometric parameters.OBJECTIVE: To explore the mechanism of the impacts of exercise on long bone development in adolescents through exercise and load experiments in rats.DESIGN: A randomized controlled study by employing experimental animals as subjects.SETTING: Laboratory of Sports of Beijing University of Physical Education and the Key Laboratory of Orthopaedics of Xijing Hospital Affiliated to the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Sports of Beijing University of Physical Education and the Key Laboratory of Orthopaedics of Xijing Hospital Affiliated to the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Totally 120 male 4-week old SD rats were randomly paired into 12 groups with 10 rats each based on their body mass.METHODS: Incremental exercises with the combination of suspension and loading mode of rats were used in the study. The undecalcified slices of the right tibia were observed after double-fluorescence-labeling by tetracycline (TC) and calcein for the analysis of bone histomorphometric parameters including bone mass, structure and metabolism, etc. During the period of growth under different exercise strength and different modes of mechanic load by stereological sampling without bias.static or dynamic parameters of bone trabecula among groups of different modes for mechanical load.RESULTS: The increase or decrease of multiple parameters including bone mass, bone quality, bone structure and bone metabolism in low-loading exercise group were more regular than that of high-loading exercise group and control group. In the suspension group, the bone mineral apposition significantly reduced, and the relative volume of bone trabecula significantly decreased with the significantly increased thickness, decreased numbers and significant of increased separation. The biochemical indicators of bone metabolism and the biomechanical capability of suspension group were significantly lower than that of low-loading exercise group but similar to that of control group. All parameters of loading group were similar to those of low-loading exercise group with the characters of active osteogenesis and osteo-absorption but mainly osteogenesis, and significantly enhanced abilities of anti-destruction and anti-deformity in bone.CONCLUSION: Exercises of different strengths can produce different impacts on long bone development in rats of growth period. The integrated effects of low-loading exercises in bone metabolism, bone mass, bone histomorphology and bone biomechanics are better than those of high-loading exercises. This phenomenon suggests that appropriate increment of gravity load during the exercise processin children and adolescents is good for the improvement of the capability of bone metabolism and bone mechanics, which further improve the bone quality during development.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine-125 seeds for elderly non-small cell lung cancer.Methods 18 patients with peripheral lung cancer were undergone brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine-125 seeds.The effect was evaluated by periodically chest CT.The complications were analyzed.Results 18 patients were observed one,two and six months after operation.CR,PR,SD were seen in 27.8％(3/18),66.7％(14/18),5.6％(1/18)respectively of the patients.Pneumothorax,hemoptysis were seen in 16.67％(3/18),95.37％(17/18),no pleural cavity bleeding.Conclusion Brachytherapy by percutaneous paracentesis implantation of iodine-125 seeds for lung cancer was effecitve.The complications were easy to treat.The methods of implantation of iodine-125 seeds could fully play the advantages of CT,and reduce the damage to the body when raising the tumorous control rate.

Objective By analyzing the data of new syphilis cases from 2008 to 2014 in Bayinguoleng Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture (Bazhou for short) of Xinjiang to further provide reference basis for setting up control strategies.Methods Using the new syphilis data reported in Bazhou of Xinjiang,we constructed a dynamic model of transmission dynamics of syphilis,and the model was simulated and quantitatively analyzed.Results The syphilis dynamical model was introduced,the methods of setting the relevant parameters were given.It was found that the established model fitted well (MA PE =1.59％,RMSPE =0.68％),and the basic reproduction number of outbreak epidemic was estimated to be R0 =1.06 (95％ CI:1.01-1.15),it was predicted that the cumulative incidence of syphilis in Bazhou was 18 145 cases by 2024.In 2023,the cumulative number of cases was 16 465,and the number of new cases reached 1 680 in 2024.The infection rate,the number of core group partners and the treatment rate were main factors influencing the prevalence of syphilis after comparison of the sensitivity of the model parameters.Conclusion There is still an upward trend in the prevalence of syphilis infection in Bazhou of Xinjiang,and relevant departments should strengthen the prevention and control measures in high-risk groups,promote the use of condoms and other comprehensive intervention measures to control the prevalence of syphilis.

Objective To establish a method for determining the contents of chrysophanol, emodin and sodium Danshensu in Shen An Kang Capsules(SAKC). Methods Chrysophanol and emodin contents were determined on Lichrospher100 C18 column (4.6 mm? 250 mm, 5 ? m) with the mobile phase of Methanol- 0.1 % Perchloric acid (85 ∶ 15) at a flow rate of 1 mL? min-1, and the detection wavelength was 254 nm. Sodium Danshensu content was determined on Kromasil column C18( 4.6 mm? 250 mm, 5 ? m) with the mobile phase of actonenitirile - 1.2 % Glacial acetic acid(8 ∶ 92)at a flow rate of 0.5 mL? min-1, detection wavelength being 280 nm. Results The linearity of emodin was obtained in the range of 0.020 16～ 0.100 80 ? g(r=0.999 6), linearity of chrysophanol obtained in the range of 0.034 56～ 0.172 80 ? g(r=0.999 9)and linearity of sodium Danshensu obtained in the range of 0.144 8～ 0.868 8 ? g(r=0.999 6).The average recovery was 97.70 % with RSD 2.38 % for emodin, 97.69 % with RSD 1.92 % for chrysophanol and 97.52 % with RSD 0.77 % for sodium Danshensu. Conclusion The method is accurate, reproducible , and is helpful for the quality control of Shen An Kang Capsules.

AIM:To establish the quality control for Finger-citron Formula Granule. METHODS: The TLC,HPLC and fingerprint chromatogram were used to make quality standard. RESULTS: The TLC spots were clear and 5,7-dimethoxy-coumarin showed a good linearity at a range of 0.46-4.14 ?g.The average recovery was(99.01%)(n=6) with RSD 1.58%. CONCLUSION: The method could be used as the quality control of Finger-citron Formula Granule.

Objective To establish a method for the Determination of Danshensu content in Tongmai Capsules. Methods The content of Danshensu was determined by HPLC on Kromasil C18 Column( 4.6? 250 mm, 5 ? m) . The mobile phase was acetonitri1- 1.2 % water solution of acetic acid (9∶ 91) and the detection wavelength was 280 nm. The theoretical plates should over 3000 according to Danshensu. Results Sodium Danshensu showed a good linearity in the range of 0.288～ 1.152 ? g, r=0.9994. The average recovery was 97.62 % , and RSD was 1.10 % (n=5). Conclusion This method is effective and can be used for the quality control of Danshensu in Tongmai Capsules.

OBJECTIVE: To take feasible control measures aimed at the problems appeared in clinical application of Chinese decoction pieces in general hospital.METHODS: The problems existed in physicians' prescribing of Chinese traditional medicine,the filling of prescriptions conducted by dispensers as well as the quality of Chinese decoction pieces were analyzed.RESULTS: The problems such as physicians' nonstandard writing of drug names,no difference in the application between raw decoction pieces and processed decoction pieces,super-large dose medication,careless in checking prescriptions,dispensers' lack of sense of responsibility in filling prescriptions,unstable quality of the Chinese decoction pieces had a direct impact on clinical curative efficacy.CONCLUSION: The curative efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine can be improved by setting and improving the information database of Chinese decoction pieces with the use of hospital information management system resources,cooperating with physicians to achieve standard and rational use of Chinese decoction pieces,strengthening management on the quality of Chinese decoction pieces and promoting the professional quality of dispensers.

Objective To study the change of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in the development of renal fibrosis and evaluate the diagnostic value of blood MMP-2 level in renal fibrosis.Methods Thirty three patients with chronic glomerulonephritis were divided into proliferation group(n=18) and fibrosis group(n=15) according to renal fibrosis degree in renal pathology.Another 8 healthy subjects were used as control group.The levels of pro-MMP-2 and MMP-2 in serum were measured with the method of SDS-PAGE enzymography.Then the levels of pro-MMP-2 and MMP-2 in serum were compared between various groups.Results The serum MMP-2 level in proliferation group was much higher than that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion There is a significant difference of serum MMP-2 between suffering group and normal control group.Therefore the detection of serum MMP-2 level can be conducive to understand the development of disease and estimate prognosis.

Sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) is one of the crucial signal molecules, which can regulate many biological functions inside and outside cells. It plays an important role in regulating numerous physiological and pathological processes after being combined with S1P receptors (S1PRs). S1P/S1PRs signaling pathways have become a hot spot in the current research on endothelial inflammation and atherosclerosis. This review described the current development of the role of S 1P and its receptors in atherosclerosis.

Objective To evaluate the effects of pulmonary recruitment (RM) in severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with different body position and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) mode in stage of mechanical ventilation. Methods From June 2013 to June 2016, 80 cases of ICU hospitalized patients with clinical data were enrolled, and they lay in the prone or supine position (prone position group and supine position group, each of 40 cases). The hemodynamic parameters including heart rate (HR), central venous pressure (CVP) and peripheral arterial pressure, respiratory mechanics index including respiratory rate (RR), respiratory system compliance (Crs) and platform pressure (Pplate), and the changes of blood gas analysis index were monitored to observe the effects of RM in different positions with positive end expiratory pressure increasing method. Results The levels of oxygenation index and arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2) were improved 3, 5 and 7 d after treatment compared with those 1 d after treatment (P<0.05), and they were improved significantly in prone position group than those in supine position group 3 and 5 d after treatment (P<0.05). The levels of RR, Crs and Pplate 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after RM had significant differences compared with those before RM (P<0.01). The levels of HR, CVP, peripheral arterial pressure 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after RM had no significant differences compared with those before RM (P>0.05). Conclusions For patients with severe ARDS, early implementation of prone position ventilation combined with PEEP increasing method re-expansion treatment is safe and reliable. It can effectively improve oxygenation level and help to improve the survival rate.
