The deficiency theories of dyslexia are quite contradictory and the cross-cultural studies in recent years mainly focused on whether the dyslexics among cultures shared the same cognitive profile or just based on the language. This study used Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) imaging to measure the regional cerebral blood volume (BV) and the changes of cerebral activation in the left prefrontal cortex of 12 Chinese dyslexic children and their 12 age-matched normal controls during the Paced Visual Serial Addition Test (PVSAT). Results showed that the scores of PVSAT of dyslexic children were significantly lower than those of the normal children (t=3.33, P<0.01). The activations of the left prefrontal cortex in the normal group were significantly greater than those of dyslexic children (all P<0.01). Our results indicated that Chinese dyslexia had a general deficiency in working memory and this may be caused by the abnormal metabolic activity of brain blood volume in the left prefrontal cortex and the deficits in brain function might be the basis of neuropathology of Chinese dyslexia. Present study supports the difference on brain activation of dyslexics from different languages may be caused by the same cognitive system related to reading.

Objective To study the role of autophagy in the replication process of Toxoplasma proliferation. Meth-ods As the experimental groups, these cells were infected by Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites at given MOI (2 ∶ 1, 4 ∶ 1 ,8 ∶ 1 ,16 ∶ 1 ) . Host cell autophagy was detected through acridine orange staining and MDC fluorescence stai-ning at different time points (1, 2, 4, 8, 24, 48, 96 hs post infection). Detect the condition of HEF cells autoph-agy with acridine orange fluorescence staining and MDC fluorescence staining, and detect the replication kinetics of Toxoplasma gondii infection at different time points using Giemsa staining. Results The results of acridine orange and MDC fluorescence staining showed that autophagy inhibitors and inducers could inhibit and promote the autoph-agy of HEF cells respectively. From the results of Giemsa staining, it was found that the proliferation of Toxoplasma gondii in HEF cells could be promoted with autophagy inducers and be inhibited with autophagy inhibitors. Conclu-sion The regulation on autophagy of host cell could regulate the proliferation and replication of Toxoplasma gondii.

Objective To analyze the balance function of injured lower lim b by dynam ic posturography. Methods Using the dynam ic posturography instrum ent, the postural evoked responses of sixty-two norm al people and two hundred and fifty-eight people with injured lower lim b bones and joints were detected. The test was included sensory organization test(SO T) and adaption test(ADT).The results of two groups were com pared by t test. Results Com pared with the norm al people, the im paired people had significant statistical differences in balance scores of SO T3-SO T6 and proportion score of dynam ic proprioception (P<0.05). There was no obvious decrease in ADT. Conclusion The balance function of injured lower lim b significantly decreases.

0.05).Serum absorbance value of progesterone injected virgin mice(0.299) was significantly higher than that of no-injectedvirgin mice(0.191)(t=2.955,P0.05).Conclusion Pregnancy has a synergetic effect on immune response of mice against T.spiralis infection, which may be related with the increased level of serum anti-Trichinella antibody and enhanced ability of sera in mediating the death of pre-encapsulated larvae in ADCC.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2009;25(1):56-57
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound ablation and balloon angioplasty in treating peripheral arterial occlusion in diabetes mellims. Methods One hundred and fifty-eight patients with peripheral arterial occlusion were treated with the ultrasound ablation. Through percutaneous approach or surgical approach, the ultrasound ablation catheter was inserted into occluded arterial segments. Results The ultrasound ablation was successful in 149 of 158 patients (94%). After treatment, the average skin temperature rised for 3℃ and the distance of intermittent claudicafion was increased for 1 000 m. The gangrene was mitigated in 38 of 45 patients. The pain during rest was ameliorated in 31 of 35 patients. Long-term efficacy was 75%. Conclusion Ultrasound ablation is effective and is a new approach for treating peripheral arterial occlusion in diabetes mellitus.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2012;15(10):613-615
Objective To investigate the application of admission test as a medical management in the labor room. Methods Eight hundred and fifty singleton pregnant women underwent admission test in labor room at Women's Hospital,School of Medicine,Zhejiang University from Dec.2009 to Dec.2011 were enrolled into this study. They were divided into two groups:normal group (admission test was normal,n =658) and abnormal group (admission test was abnormal or undetermined,n =192).Deliveries and perinatal outcomes of them were observed. The difference between the two groups were compared with two independent sample t test and Chi-square test. Results There were no significant differences in the mean age at delivery of the women and mean birth weight of neonates between the two groups (all P>0.05).The cesarean section rate of normal group (34.2%,225/658) was lower than that (59.4%,114/192) of abnormal group (x2=3.93,P<0.05).The rates of prematurc rupture of membranes (72.4%,139/ 192),fetaldistress (42.2%,81/192),neonatal asphyxia (16.5%,27/192) and neonatal complications (31.8%,61/192) in abnormal group were significantly higher than those [31.0% (204/658),24.2% (159/ 658),0.2%(1/658) and 2.6% (17/658)] in normal group (x2 =105.78,40.84,52.54 and 151.92,P<0.01respectively).Conclusions Admission test is a good method to forecast placental function during labor and perinatal outcomes, which might play an important role in medical management in labor room.

Objective To explore the differentiation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into dopaminergic neuron. Methods The mesenchymal stem cells were isolated from bone marrow. They were induced to differentiate into dopaminergic neurons by freated with bFGF, VitC and EGF at the third generation. Dopamine-associated protein and genes in the treated cells were examined by immumofluorescence and RT-PCR. Dopamine in the supernatant and endoplasm from culture system was determined by ELISA kit. Results The results showed that tyrosine hydroxylase, dopamine transporter and nerve neucleoprotein and Nestin,Nurr-1 genes were found. And the dopamine existed in the supernatant and cytoplasm from inducing culture system. Conclusion The rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells have the capacity of differenting into dopaminergic nurons.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(11):-
Objectives: To evaluate the clinical application of emergency extracorporeal circulation(ECC) in cardiac surgery. Methods: Emergency open heart surgery was performed in 24 ECC cases. Warm blood left heart bypass was performed in 3, hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass in 21. The vena cava-aorta extracorporeal circulation was built in 16,vena cava-femoral in 4, left atrium-femoral in 3 and femoro-femoral in 1. Retrograde or antegrade perfusion through aortic root were applied to protect the heart. Results: There were 2 hospital deaths, the hospital mortality rate was 8.3%. The cardiopulmonary bypass was established in 10 to 15 minutes with an average duration of cardiopulmonary bypass of 78~132 minutes. Twenty-two patients were discharged from the hospital and have resumed a normal and active life style. Conclusions: Emergency cardiopulmonary bypass support is a powerful resuscitative tool that may stabilize the condition of patients with cardiogenic shock and mutiorgan dysfunction to allow for definitive intervention. The femoro-femoral cannulation is the first choice for emergency. The time to establish extracorporeal circulation should be as short as possible.
