Objective To investigate the effect of Shuyusan on the behavior of chronic stress induced depression model rats, as well as concentrations changes of norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA) and serotonin (5-HT) in cerebral cortex. Method Fifty mice were randomly divided into 5 groups:normal control group, model group, amitriptyline group, and high/low dose prescription group of Shuyusan. Except normal group, the other groups were given the chronic mild unpredicted stress for 21 days. After 21 days different stimulation, open-Field test was used to estimate the behavior of rats, the concentrations of NE, DA and 5-HT were detected with fluorescence spectrometer method. OBJECTIVE:To optimize the extraction technology of polyphenols from Juglans regia branch and evaluate its anti-oxidant activity in vitro. METHODS:Using extraction amount of polyphenols from J. regia branch as response value,solvent-solid ratio,extraction temperature and ethanol volume fraction as response factors,based on single factor test,response surface method was used to optimize the extraction technology of polyphenols from J. regia branch. Using vitamin C as positive control,scaveng-ing on hydroxyl radicals and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)radicals and total reducing activities of polyphenols from J. re-gia branch were investigated. And its antioxidant activity in vitro was evaluated. RESULTS:Optimized extraction conditions for polyphenols from J. regia branch was as follow as solid-liquid ratio of 1:25(g/mL),extraction temperature of 50 ℃,ethanol vol-ume fraction of 70%. The extraction amount of polyphenols from J. regia branch was 9.30 mg/g(RSD=0.57%,n=3)in the veri-fication test. Clearance rate on hydroxyl radicals and DPPH radicals and total reducing activity of polyphenols from J. regia branch were respectively 50.24%,95.42%,1.118 when it was under the mass concentration of 12.0,3.0,3.0μg/mL;and the related data of vitamin C was 93.71%,46.17%,0.628 under the same mass concentration(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Extraction technology of polyphenols from J. regia branch optimized by response surface method is stable and feasible;polyphenols from J. regia branch shows certain antioxidant activity in vitro.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of phycocyanin on focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats.Methods The model of the middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion(MCAO/R) was established using the intraluminal filament occlusion with 60 healthy adult male Wistar rats,and treated by phycocyanin.The expressions of NF-?B,IL-6 and neuronal apoptosis were detected to evaluate the effects of phycocyanin on above indexes.Results The expression level of NF-?B increased successfully from reperfusion 6h,peaked at reperfusion 1d,and then decreased in cortex and striatum in ischemic group.The expression site and change principle of IL-6 were similar to those of NF-?B except of expression peak at reperfusion 2d.The neuronal apoptosis increased successfully from reperfusion 6h,reached peak at reperfusion 1d and 2d in cortex and striatum respectively,and the changed character was coincident with NF-?B and IL-6 expressions.The expressions of NF-?B and IL-6 reduced and the number of neuronal apoptosis decreased significantly after applying phycocyanin compared to the control group in the same time.Conclusion Phycocyanin could inhibit neuronal apoptosis and down-regulate the expressions of NF-?B and IL-6 after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion.

Objective To explore the assessment and intervention categorized for patients with permanent colostomy′s continue nursing problem based on the Omaha system. Methods Developing permanent colostomy′s continue nursing problem assessment form in the framework of Omaha system, using this assessment form to evaluate 46 patients′continue nursing problem and choose appropriate interventions. Results A total of 46 patients on the day of discharge had a total of 260 continue nursing problems. There were 5.7 nursing problems averagely for every patient. Incidence of more than 50%of the nursing problems had personal care, role change, mental health, sleep and rest, digestion- hydration and social; potential continue nursing problems was 90. There were 1.97 nursing problems averagely for every patient. The main potential continue nursing problems were two, respectively was colostomy complications and colostomy surrounding skin complications. Continue nursing intervention had a total of 727. There were 15.8 continue nursing interventions averagely for every patient. The most frequent interventions were for physiological and psychosocial domain. Conclusions Omaha Question Classification System can fully assess permanent colostomy′s continue nursing problem andset corresponding nursing intervention strategiesaccording to Omaha intervention system. More attention should be paid to psychosocial and health-related behavior problem. The most frequent interventions were health education, guidance, counseling and monitoring.

Objective To explore the relativity between the changes of 1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-MRS) in hippocampus and prefrontal lobe and syndrome differentiation of major depression.Methods Sixty patients with major depression(MD) were divided into Group A(phlegm-heat syndrome),Group B(blood stasis syndrome),Group C(deficient fire syndrome) and Group D(cold-dampness syndrome),and other 20 normal controls were selected.The neurochemical abnormalities including the ratios of N-acetylaspartate(NAA)/choline(Cho),NAA/creatine(Cr) and Cho/Cr were measured with three-dimension 1H proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy(3D1H-MRS).Results The ratios of Cho/Cr in white matter of the prefrontal lobe were significant higher in MD patients than that in normal controls(P<0.05);the ratios of NAA/Cr in hippocampus were significant higher in MD patients than that in normal controls(P<0.05).Conclusion There might be the relativity between the neurochemical abnormalities in hippocampus and prefrontal lobe and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation of major depression.

Objective To observe the clinical effect and safety of Wenxin formula in the treatment of stable coronary heart disease angina patients with Syndrome of Yang deficiency with stagnation of the Blood and retention of Phlegm (SYBP). Methods A total of 65 stable coronary heart disease angina patients with SYBP were randomly assigned to the trial group and the control group (34 in the trial group and 31 in the control group). The trial group was treated with Wenxin formula, while the control group was treated with atorvastatin. The treatment lasted 4 weeks. The therapeutic effects on angina, reduction of Nitroglycerin, changes of electrocardiogram (ECG) and TCM syndrome score were observed before and after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, the trial group had a similar effect with the control group in the aspects of the therapeutic effects on angina, reduction of Nitroglycerin and the ECG change. There was no statistical difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The changes of TCM syndrome score in the trial group was superior to the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rates of the trial group and the control group were 88.2% and 74.2%. The significant efficiency of the treatment group (29.41%) was significantly superior to the control group (9.68%) (P<0.05). No adverse reaction occurred during the therapeutic course.Conclusions The Wenxin formula was safe and effective in the treatment of stable coronary heart disease angina patients with SYBP.

OBJECTIVETo explore the changes of metabolites in brain after treatment by analysis on 1H-MRS examination of the hippocampus and prefrontal lobe in the healthy volunteers and the depression patients.

METHODSSeventy-five cases of mild and moderate depression were randomly divided into groups A, B and C, 25 cases in each group. The group A was treated with oral administration of Prozac capsule, 20 mg/d; the group B by electroacupuncture for 30-40 min and the needle was retained for 1 h, once each day, with main points Baihui (GV 20), Yin-tang (GV 29) and adjuvant acupoints selected; the group C by combination of the treatment methods in the groups A and B. They were treated for 6 weeks. Use PROBE-J sequence at the MRI system on Single Voxel of ROI of each lateral of hippocampus and frontal lobe in the depression patients of the 3 groups. Compare the differences of N-acetylasp artate/creatine (NAA/Cr) and choline/creatine (Cho/Cr) between the healthy volunteers and the patients before and after treatment.

RESULTSBefore treatment, NAA/Cr in the bilateral hippocampus decreased in the 3 groups as compared with the control group, and after treatment, NAA/Cr in the bilateral hippocampus of the group B and in the right hippocampus of the group C increased compared with that before treatment (P < 0.05), and NAA/Cr in the left hippocampus of the group C significantly increased as compared with that before treatment (P < 0.01). Before treatment, Cho/Cr in the bilateral prefrontal lobe in the 3 groups increased as compared with that in the control group (P < 0.05), after treatment, Cho/Cr in the bilateral prefrontal lobes of the groups A, B and C significantly decreased as compared with that before treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThere are differences in contents of metabolites in corresponding parts in bilateral frontal lobes and hippocampus between the depression patient and healthy person.

OBJECTIVETo study on clinical therapeutic effect and safety of electroacupuncture and Fluoxetine for treatment of mild or moderate depression with physical symptoms.

METHODSSeventy-five cases were randomly divided into a western medicine group (group A), an electroacupunctue group(group B) and an electroacupuncture plus medicine group (group C), 25 cases in each group. The group A were treated by oral Fluoxetine, 20 mg each day; the group B by electroacupuncture with Baihui (GV 20) and Yintang (EX-HN 3) selected as main points; the group C by oral administration of Fluoxetine plus electroacupunctue. HAMD depression scale was used for assessment of clinical therapeutic effect and TESS adverse reaction scale was used for adverse reactions.

RESULTSThe clinical effective rate was 78.3% in the group A, 82.6% in the group B and 91.7% in the group C, with significant differences between group C and A, group C and B (P < 0.05). Groups B and C had significant therapeutic effects in improvement of physical symptoms, and the adverse reaction of Fluoxetine in the group C was less than that in the group A.

CONCLUSIONElectroacupuncture can significantly improve physical symptoms and relieve adverse reactions of Fluoxetine. Electroacupuncture combined with Fluoxetine has a better therapeutic effect on depression with mild or moderate physical symptoms, with less adverse reactions.
