ObjectiveTo explore the effect of motor on functional recovery of the lower limb in hemiplegic patients after cerebral infarction. Methods62 patients recovering from cerebral infarction were divided into the control group (30 cases) and motor imagery group (32 cases). All patients received routine treatment and a motor relearning program. Patients in the motor imagery group were given mental practice in activities of the lower limb. They were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessments (FMA) and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) before and after treatment. ResultsThe scores of FMA and MBI were improved in the motor imagery group compared with those in the control group (P<0.05) after treatment. ConclusionMotor imagery can facilitate the recovery of lower limb function in patients with hemiplegia.

OBJECTIVE:To study the percutaneous permeability of Hydrocortisone cream with different substrates in diabetic model rats. METHODS:The Hydrocortisone O/W(oil/water)cream,water-soluble cream and oil-soluble cream were respectively prepared. Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group and model group. Model group was given streptozotocin(40 mg/kg)to reproduce diabetic model. Franz diffusion cell percutaneous test and HPLC were used to detect the percutaneous permea-bility rates of Hydrocortisone O/W cream,water-soluble cream and oil-soluble cream in rats of 2 groups. RESULTS:Compared with normal control group, the percutaneous permeability rates of Hydrocortisone O/W cream and water-soluble cream were obvi-ously increased, with significant difference(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the percutaneous permeability rate of oil-soluble cream (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Hydrocortisone O/W cream and water-soluble cream are easier to go through the skin of diabetic model rats, and Hydrocortisone oil-soluble cream is hard.

Objective To observe the effect of scalp acupuncture on cognitive and motor functions of stroke patients in recovery stage.Methods80 stroke patients with cognitive disorder were randomly divided into the scalp acupuncture group (n=41) and control group (n=39). All patients of two groups were treated with routine therapy and rehabilitation training, but the cases of the scalp acupuncture group were added with scalp acupuncture. The cognitive function, motor function and activities of daily living (ADL) of all patients were assessed by delitescence and amplitude of event-related potential (ERP) P300, Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Barthel Index (BI) respectively before and 3 months after treatment.ResultsAfter treatment, P300 delitescence of the patients in the scalp acupuncture group shorten to 38 ms in average while in the control group shorten only to 17 ms, the therapeutic effect of the scalp acupuncture group was superior to that of the control group ( P<0.05). The scores of FMA and BI of the patients in the scalp acupuncture group were also better than those in the control group ( P<0.05).ConclusionScalp acupuncture can efficiently improve the cognitive function of stroke patients in the recovery stage, and promote the recovery of motor function and ADL.

Objective To investigate the effect of sigma-1 receptor(sig-1R)inhibition on apoptosis in the dorsal root ganglion(DRG)of rats with sciatic nerve chronic constriction injury(CCI)-mediated neuropathic pain. Methods Rats undergoing intrathecal intubation were randomly divided into three groups with 12 in each:sham group, model group(CCI modeling one week after intrathecal intubation)and sig-1R inhibitor group(BD1047 group)that was injected intrathecally on the fourth, fifth, and sixth days after the CCI operation. The mechanical withdrawal threshold(MWT)of rats was detected on the day before surgery and then first, third, fifth and sev-enth days after surgery. The expression of sig-1R,Bcl-2 and Bax was detected by Western blot and immunofluo-rescence in DRG cell;TUNEL staining microscopy was used to observe the apoptosis of DRG cells. The changes of endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria were observed by transmission electron microscopy of DRG cells. Results Compared with the sham group, the model group showed a decreased MWT at all time points after surgery,up-regulation of DRG cell apoptosis,up-regulation of sig-1R and Bax,down-regulation of Bcl-2,swelling of en-doplasmic reticulum, disruption of mitochondrial membrane and reduction of mitochondrial cristae in the DRG cell endoplasmic reticulum after surgery(P<0.05).BD1047 group showed elevated MWT at the fifth and seventh postoperative days,down-regulation of DRG cell apoptosis,down-regulated expression of sig-1R and Box,up-regulated expression of Bcl-2 and slightly damaged endoplasmic reticulum as well as mitochondria of DRG cells compared with model group(P<0.05).Conclusions Inhibition of sig-1R up-regulates mechanical withdrawal threshold and reduces DRG cell apoptosis in CCI rats.
