Objective: To study the effects of different niacin nutritures on behaviors of stressed rats. Methods: 100 Wistar male rats were assigned into 10 groups:control, pair-fed, nicotinamide (NAM) deficiency (ND), low-dose NAM supplement (LNS 40 mg/kg diet) and high-dose NAM supplement (HNS 500 mg/kg diet), and the corresponding restrained groups. 24 h urinary excretion of N1-methylnicotinamide (NMN), body weight changes, behaviors in the open-field test, plasma cortisol, nitric oxide(NO) and liver nitric oxide synthase(NOS) were determined. Results: Compared with the control group, restrained rats had relatively lower urinary NMN. Both ND and restrainted stress retarded the body weight gains . Rats in the control and LNS groups had relatively shorter latency time in the open-field test. Restrained rats had higher plasma cortisol and NO than those in the corresponding control group. However, rats with HNS had the lowest plasma cortisol concentrations. Dietary supplement of NAM increased liver NOS . Conclusions: Restraint stress may increase niacin depletion and appropriate NAM supplement has positive effects on stress adaptation in rats.

Objective To evaluate the biodistribution and radiation-absorbed doses of main organs in healthy people with 13 N-ammonia.Methods Five healthy volunteers underwent whole-body PET and CT scans after injection of 666-814 MBq of 13 N-ammonia.The serial dynamic emission images of each healthy volunteer were acquired.ROI were drawn manually based on the transverse CT images and transferred to the corresponding PET slices.Radiation-absorbed doses were calculated using the medical internal radiation dosimetry (MIRD) method.Results The highest concentrations of 13 N-ammonia were found in the heart,liver and kidneys,followed by pancreas,brain,spleen and stomach.The organ of highest absorbed dose was heart with (7.14±3.63) × 10-3 mGy/MBq.The whole-body absorbed dose was (2.11±0.44) × 10 3 mGy/MBq.The whole-body effective dose was (6.58± 1.23) × 10-3 mSv/MBq.Conclusion As one of the most important myocardial perfusion tracers,the whole-body 13 N-NH3 · H2 O PET appears to be safe for humans.

The development of external counterpulsation (ECP) local area network system and extensible markup language (XML)-based remote ECP medical information system conformable to digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) standard has been improving the digital interchangeablity and sharability of ECP data. However, the therapy process of ECP is a continuous and longtime supervision which builds a mass of waveform data. In order to reduce the storage space and improve the transmission efficiency, the waveform data with the normative format of ECP data files have to be compressed. In this article, we introduced the compression arithmetic of template matching and improved quick fitting of linear approximation distance thresholding (LADT) in combimation with the characters of enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) waveform signal. The DICOM standard is used as the storage and transmission standard to make our system compatible with hospital information system. According to the rules of transfer syntaxes, we defined private transfer syntax for one-dimensional compressed waveform data and stored EECP data into a DICOM file. Testing result indicates that the compressed and normative data can be correctly transmitted and displayed between EECP workstations in our EECP laboratory.

Enhanced extracorporeal counterpulsation (EECP) information consists of both text and hemodynamic waveform data. At present EECP text information has been successfully managed through Web browser, while the management and sharing of hemodynamic waveform data through Internet has not been solved yet. In order to manage EECP information completely, based on the in-depth analysis of EECP hemodynamic waveform file of digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) format and its disadvantages in Internet sharing, we proposed the use of the extensible markup language (XML), which is currently the Internet popular data exchange standard, as the storage specification for the sharing of EECP waveform data. Then we designed a web-based sharing system of EECP hemodynamic waveform data via ASP. NET 2.0 platform. Meanwhile, we specifically introduced the four main system function modules and their implement methods, including DICOM to XML conversion module, EECP waveform data management module, retrieval and display of EECP waveform module and the security mechanism of the system.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the diagnostic value of HGAL and LMO2 expression and compare with CD10 and bcl-6 in follicular lymphoma (FL).

METHODS63 cases of FL were collected from Guangdong General Hospital. The expression of HGAL, LMO2, CD10 and bcl-6 was assessed by immunohistochemistry.

RESULTSThe expression rates of HGAL, LMO2, CD10 and bcl-6 were 98.4% (62/63), 82.5% (52/63), 82.5% (52/63) and 87.3% (55/63), respectively. The expression rate of HGAL was higher than those of LMO2, CD10 and bcl-6, but the differences were not significant (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in HGAL, LMO2 and bcl-6 expression among FL1, FL2 and FL3 cases. The CD10 expression rate of FL1-3A cases was significantly higher than that of FL3B cases(P<0.01).

CONCLUSIONSHGAL and LMO2, especially HGAL, can be used in FL particularly high grade FL as useful germinal center marker.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, treatment and prognosis of duodenal-type follicular lymphoma. Methods: Four cases of duodenal-type follicular lymphoma diagnosed at Guangdong General Hospital from 2014 to 2015 with detailed clinical data were included. The histomorphology, immunophenotype, treatment and prognoses were analyzed. Results: The patients′ age ranged from 51 to 57 years (mean 54 years), and there were 2 males and 2 females. The involved sites were gastric fundus in one case, second portion of the duodenum in two cases and terminal ileum in one case. All patients presented with multiple mucosal granules or nodules at endoscopy. Microscopically, there were multiple mucosal neoplastic follicles, constituting grade 1-2 disease based on nodal follicular lymphoma grading system. The tumor cells were positive for CD20, CD10, bcl-6 and bcl-2. CD21 highlighted the follicular dendritic meshwork mainly at the periphery of the follicles. Proliferation index was low. Three patients received rituximab monotherapy for 4 cycles, leading to complete remission. One patient refused therapy and the disease progressed to systemic lymphoma 15 months after the initial diagnosis. Conclusions Duodenal-type follicular lymphoma is a special variant of follicular lymphoma with indolent clinical course. The tumor exhibits morphology of low grade follicular lymphoma with characteristic dendritic meshwork at the periphery of the follicles and a low proliferation index. Prognosis is excellent. Rituximab monotherapy is treatment of choice, but a small minority of patients may progress to systemic disease.

OBJECTIVE: To report on a case of Smith-Magenis syndrome (SMS) due to a rare small-scale deletion. METHODS: Muscle samples from the the third fetus was collected after the in Medical history and clinical data of the patient were collected. The child and his parents were subjected to chromosome karyotyping analysis, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) and copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq). RESULTS: The child was found to have a normal karyotype. MLPA and CNV-seq detection showed that he has harbored a 1.22 Mb deletion and a 0.3 Mb duplication in the 17p11.2 region. Neither of his parents was found to have similar deletion or duplication. CONCLUSION The child was diagnosed with SMS due to a rare 1.22 Mb deletion in the 17p11.2 region, which is among the smallest deletions associated with this syndrome.

Effective cost control and structure optimization of medical consumables in public hospitals can facilitate a shift from extensive cost control to scientific and refine management.On the premise of ensuring medical quality,reducing the burden of patients'diagnosis and treatment and meeting the actual needs of hospital management,this approach aims to realize valuable healthcare outcomes.This study was conducted in a tertiary hospital,which balanced both the medical and economic val-ue of medical consumables.Using an integrated approach to specialty capacity building and disease structure optimization,the hospital restructured the use of medical consumables in Transcatheter Arterial Embolization(TAE)procedures.It developed standardized pathways and usage protocols tailored to specific diseases and surgical requirements.A targeted consumable usage policy framework was introduced,comprising"one department,one policy;one surgery type,one policy;and one consumable,one policy."This included initiatives such as validating the use of drug-loaded embolic microspheres,conducting multi-depart-mental review meetings,strictly regulating indications for these microspheres,limiting personnel involvement,and negotiating re-duced pricing on imported microspheres.Following implementation,the average case-mix index(CMI)for discharged patients undergoing TAE increased from 2.23 to 2.34(P＜0.001),while the average per-case cost of consumables decreased from 19 600 to 15 600(P＜0.001).These measures offer valuable decision-making and operational reference for hospitals nation-wide,supporting efficient,quality-focused consumables management.

Objective:To explore the driving factors of health promotion behavior in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after discharge, and to provide a basis for improving the health behavior of patients.Methods:This research adopted the method of phenomenological research in qualitative research. From November 2019 to January 2020, purpose sampling was used to select 12 elderly patients with AMI who underwent PCI after follow-up visits in the AMI Outpatient Clinic of a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital in Guangzhou as the research objects. Semi-structured interview was used to conduct in-depth interviews with patients. The data was analyzed using the Colaizzi 7-step analysis method.Results:A total of two themes were refined: (1) endogenous driving forces, including four sub-themes of positive self-perception of aging, family responsibility perception, expectations for future social development, and health-related sense of control; (2) exogenous driving force, including three sub-themes of social support system, natural and social medical environment, and long-term medical economic costs.Conclusions:The driving forces for health promotion behaviors in elderly patients undergoing AMI after PCI are complex and diverse. Medical and nursing staff should mobilize the endogenous and exogenous driving forces of the patients according to the individual characteristics of elderly patients, urge them to adopt health promotion behaviors and develop a good healthy lifestyle.

OBJECTIVETo study the clinical, pathologic, immunophenotype, molecular characteristics and prognosis of HIV-negative plasmablastic lymphoma (PBL).

METHODSTwelve cases of HIV-negative PBLs diagnosed between 2005 and 2014 in Guangdong General Hospital were identified according to WHO classification of tumors of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues (2008). The clinicopathologic features and outcome were analyzed and the relevant literatures were reviewed.

RESULTSThe patients were predominantly male (11/12) with a median age of 55.5 years. The tumor cells showed the characteristic combination of immunoblastic/plasmablastic morphology, plasma cell phenotype and high proliferation, no expression of mature B cell markers. 7/10 of the cases were EBER positive. Two cases were positive for C-myc translocation. Four of twelve patients were died.

CONCLUSIONSPBL is a rare, aggressive B-cell lymphoma. HIV-negative PBL has lower rate of oral involvement and EBER expression than HIV-positive patients, the differential diagnosis is very challenging, and the prognosis is worse.
