Considering a variety of theories such like Dunkin's, Centra's and Kolitch's, a set of 13 indicators are designed to evaluate effect of courses taken in high education of China currently, compro-mised by chief aspects of course designing, practicing, and effect. Three courses including medical nursing, humanistic cultivation and communication skills in nursing and fundamentals of nursing in a nursing de-partment are chosen to be objects of questionnaire survey about the above indicators. The results show that there are significant differences in curriculum effectiveness between different courses. The scores are 2.81, 2.80 and 2.60 respectively, and teachers and students have different evaluation on the same indicators of the same curriculum,which provides a reference for teachers, colleges and universities and teaching management departments to promote the improvement of teaching quality.

The effects of solid-state fermentation (SSF) and submerged fermentation (SmF) and the addition of olive oil on the whole-cell lipase production by Rhizopus chinensis CCTCC M201021 were investigated.Compared with SSF, higher biomass, hydrolytic activity and synthetic activity were observed in SmF.By the addition of olive oil, the synthetic activity of whole-cell lipase in both fermentations was enhanced significantly, especially in SmF, while the biomass and the hydrolytic activity were also increased.Hence, olive oil serves as both carbon source and the inducer of lipases in fermentation.It was also found that the synthetic activity of whole-cell lipase was not accordant to the hydrolytic activity during both SmF and SSF, suggesting that isoenzymes with difference in lipase properties may be produced by Rhizopus chinensis.

AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of central conreal thickness ( CCT ) using EX500 Excimer Laser workstation (EX500) in laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) patients.METHODS:The CCT of 120 eyes (63 patients) who had LASIK between January 2013 and June 2013 were measured by A- scan and EX500. Three groups were classified: >550μm, 500 ~550μm, <500μm according the CCT value of A-scan. The CCT were measured again by corneal flap creating by moria SBK microkeratome. The thickness of the corneal bed stroma were measured by A-scan and EX500 after keratomileusis. All outcomes were analyzed with paired t test.
RESULTS: The average preoperative CCT value was 527. 9±34. 3μm measured by A-scan, 528. 5±34. 6μm measured by EX500. There was no significant difference between these two measurements (t=1. 736, P=0. 085). In group which CCT >550μm, the average preoperative CCT value was 571. 4±17. 3μm measured by A-scan, 572.7±15. 7μm measured by EX500. There was no significant difference between these two measurements (t=1. 857, P=0. 072). In group which CCT 500 ~ 550μm, the average preoperative CCT value was 523. 4±13. 1μm measured by A-scan, 524. 2±12. 4μm measured by EX500. There was no significant difference between these two measurements ( t=1. 934, P = 0. 058 ). In group which CCT <500μm, the average preoperative CCT value 484. 5±9.8μm measured by A-scan, 483. 7±8. 9μm measured by EX500. There was no significant difference between these two measurements (t=1. 395, P=0. 174). The average CCT value after corneal flap lifting was 401. 3 ± 34. 2μm measured by A-scan, 393. 4±38. 9μm measured by EX500. The average thickness of the corneal bed stroma value after keratomileusis was 332. 6±38. 3μm measured by A-scan, 307. 3 ± 37. 1μm measured by EX500. There was a significant difference between these two measurements ( t=17. 165, P=0. 000).
CONCLUSION: There is no significant difference between preoperative CCT value measured by A-scan and EX500. After corneal flap lifting and keratomileusis, the CCT value measured by EX500 is smaller than measured by A-scan.

Objective To investigate long-term biological variability of serum lipids in Chinese. Methods Serum lipids in a Chinese population with relatively stable life styles were monitored with standardized measurements for 1 year (specimens were taken bimonthly) (23 subjects) or 10～15 years (yearly) (100 subjects). Results The total intra-individual variability (analytical and biological variations combined) of total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol averaged 10%, 28%, 16% and 18%, respectively. Conclusion Biological intra-individual variability is a major source of inaccuracy of cardiovascular risk assessments based on lipid measurements. Measures need to be taken to minimize biological variation when medical decisions are to be made in the treatment of lipid disorders.

Objective To investigate the expression of T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain (TIM)-3 and its ligand Galectin-9 in the peripheral blood of initial systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)patients,and explore their effects on SLE.Methods The percentages of CD4+TIM-3+,CD8+TIM-3+cells from 33 SLE patients and 26 normal controls were detected by flow cytometry,and the Galectin-9 gene expression of PBMCs was determined by real-time PCR The SLE Disease Activity Index(SLEDAI),C3 level and lymphocyte count were evaluated.Mann-Whitney U test was used for independent samples analysis and Spearmen's test was used for correlation analysis.Results The percentages of CD4+TIM-3+ and CD8+TIM-3+ cells were markedly increased in SLE group than those of the control group(P<0.01).In particular,the CD4+TIM-3+,CD8+TIM-3+ level Was positively correlated with SLEDAI (r=0.517,P＜0.01;r=0.400,P＜0.05);but negatively correlated with C3(r=0.487,P＜0.05;r=0.395,P＜0.05).The Galectin-9 mRNA in SLE PBMCs was higher than that of the controls(P<0.05).Conclusion TIM-3-Galectin-9 pathway may be involved in T cell immune regulation of SLE,and is related to disease activity.

Objective To analyze the factors related to glare occurred after the phakic intraocular lens (P-IOL) implantation,and to raise the standard for the P-IOL selection.Design Retrospective case series.Participants 104 patients with high myopia underwent P-IOL implantation in Beijing Tongren Hospital.Methods In 104 cases,22 cases (22 eyes) were implanted angle supported Phakic6 designed accord with corneal symmetry,54 cases (54 eyes) were implanted iris fixed Verisyse,and 28 cases (28 eyes) were implanted posterior chamber PRL.Selection of the diameter of P-IOL optics depended on P-IOL diopters.The pupil diameter,the P-IOL optic center position,the pupil and corneal center position were measured with anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT).The contrast sensitivity (CS) under different condition (day,day and glare,night,night and glare) and in different space frequency (1.5,3,6, 12,18c/d)were examined with Optec6500 system.Main Outcome Measures Glare incidence,CS,and the influence of pupil diameter and P-IOL location to glare.Results None of the 104 P-IOL eyes occurred glare in day time.59 eyes (56.73%) complained of glare in dime condition.The glare incidence was 63.18% (14/22) in Phakic6 eyes,55.56% (30/54) in Verisyse eyes,and 53.27% (15/28) in PRL eyes (P=0.691).CS of all surgical eyes were improved in day time with or without glare luminous environment (P=0.000).And the CS of halo-complaining eyes was lower than of no halo eyes in night time with or without glare luminous environment (P=0.000).Glare oc- curred more frequently in eyes with the pupil diameter larger than P-IOL diameter in clime condition after surgery (10 in Phakic6 eyes, 20 in Verisyse eyes,12 in PRL eyes,all P
