1.Advances in the relationship between perivascular adipose tissue and vascular calcification
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2024;59(6):1527-1537
Vascular calcification (VC) is a chronic systemic vascular disease characterized by abnormal deposition of hydroxyapatite minerals in the vascular system and is closely associated with aging, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and chronic kidney disease. Perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT), a special type of adipose tissue that surrounds blood vessels, is thought to be a supportive component of the vascular structure and is capable of playing a role in homeostatic regulation during vasodilatation and contraction. Currently, there is growing evidence that perivascular adipose tissue acts as an endocrine and paracrine organ and interacts closely with cellular components of the vascular wall, which may be involved in the development of vascular calcification. This article reviews the role of perivascular adipose tissue in the pathophysiological process of vascular calcification and its potential as a target for therapeutic intervention, with the aim of providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of vascular calcification.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) on older stroke patients in ability of activities of daily living (ADL).Methods50 older stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and control group. The rehabilitation group was treated with motor function exercise and ADL training, while the control group only took medicine. Two groups were evaluated with Barthel index before and after treatment. ResultsScores of Barthel index on the rehabilitation group were higher than that on the control group after treatment, and there was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions CBR has the significant effect on improving ADL in older stroke patients.

Objective To explore the structure of self-developed "The Compliance Scale Among Kidney Transplantation Recipients" in order to provide effective tool to evaluate kidney transplantation recipients' compliance. Methods 886 follow-up kidney transplantation recipients of six organ transplantation centers in Shanghai were surveyed by "The Compliance Scale Among Kidney Transplantation Recipients". Results The exploratory factor analysis yielded a 25-item four-factor model termed medication compliance, life habits compliance, self-monitoring compliance, follow-up compliance. Conclusions The self-developed "The Compliance Scale Among Kidney Transplantation Recipients" could be a useful tool for evaluating compliance among kidney transplantation recipients.

Objective To explore the insertion of the teaching contents of nursing in rural doctors'higher education,so as to increase their understanding of medical knowledge and improve their medical skills.Method 90 rural doctors of Grade 2014 were chosen as the research object, and according to their willingness to participate, they were divided into control group and observation group. The students in the control group were mainly taught by the relevant knowledge of clinical medicine, while nursing teaching content was inserted in the teaching of observation group. In the teaching process, firstly, the teaching contents of nursing were reorganized, and then the teaching content of clinical medicine was taken as the main line, according to the development of teaching content, flexibly inserting nursing teaching part. The results of the final examination of the internal medicine of the two groups were compared and the specific learning experience of rural doctors was investigated.SPSS 20.0 was used to analyze the data, the count data was expressed as percentage, and chi square test was performed. Results The number of students in the control group and the observation group whose subjective score was more than 40 was 17.65% and 48.72% respectively. The number of students scoring <30 points accounted for 23.53% and 5.13% of the total number of students, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).The observation group had a better learning experience, and had little influence on the learning of clinical medical knowledge. Conclusion In the stage of education for rural doctors, inserting the teaching contents of nursing can improve the teaching effect.

Objective · To explore the effects of brisk walking on blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and autonomic nerve activity of male elderly with hypertension in community-based health centers in Shanghai. Methods · A total of 630 elderly men received brisk walking treatment (>10000 steps/d) voluntarily, who were selected from six community-based health centers in Pudong New Area of Shanghai. Among them, 210 people stick to training for 12 weeks. According to whether suffering from hypertension, the people were assigned to hypertension intervened group (intervention group, n=110) and normal intervened group (control group 1, n=100). Blood pressure, BMI, heart rate and autonomic nerve activity before and after the training were compared. Results · After 12 weeks of training, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and sympathetic nerve activity of intervention group were significantly lower than those before the training (P<0.05). SBP was also significantly lower than control group 2 (P<0.05). However, heart rate, BMI, parasympathetic nerve activity and baroreceptor reflex sensitivity did not change significantly after the training (P>0.05). Conclusion · Brisk walking treatment lasting for 12 weeks can decrease blood pressure and sympathetic nerve activity in elderly men with hypertension. It is worthy to be popularized in the community.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of muscle energy technique combined with joint mobilization on frozen shoulder. Methods Thirty-six patients with frozen shoulder were randomly assigned to:group A (treated with muscle energy technique plus joint mobilization),group B (treated with passive stretching with joint mobilization),and group C (treated with joint mobilization merely),and each had 12 patients. All the patients were treated accordingly for 3 times a week, totally for 4 weeks. The American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons evaluation system (ASES) was adopted to evaluate clinical effects before and at the end of treatment. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, all patients' ASES scores were improved significantly (P < 0.05).The improvement in the shoulder score index and shoulder range of motion were to a significantly better extent in group A than in the other two groups. Conclusion Muscle energy technique plus joint mobilization could effectively relieve pain increase the shoulder ROM and improve performance in activities of daily living in patients suffering from frozen shoulder.

Objective To investigate the effects of the HLA-Ⅰ and co-stimulators CD_(80)and CD_(86)on HT-29 cells surface, after heat killed Bifidobacterium and HT-29 cells were mingled culturing for 12 hours. Methods The HLA-Ⅰ and co-stimulators CD_(80)and CD_(86)on HT-29 cells surface were measured by Flow Cytometer. Results Heat killed Bifidobacterium can improve the expressions of HLA-1, CD_(80)and CD_(86)on HT-29 cells significantly, the livability of colon carcinoma cell was more than 90 %. Conclusion Heat killed Bifidobacterium have potential antitumorous features.
