Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine 2011;31(6):386-389
ObjectiveTo evaluate the diagnostic performance of bone SPECT and CT fusion imaging in bone metastases from pediatric neuroblastoma.MethodsTwenty-four pediatric patients with neuroblastoma were included in this retrospective study. All patients underwent planar imaging and SPECT integrated with CT.Lesion visibility, diagnostic certainty and diagnostic performance were evaluated with KolmogorovSmirnov test andx2 test.ResultsLesion visibility of SPECT alone,SPECT integrated with CT were significantly better than that of planar imaging ( both H =69.000,P < 0.05 ).SPECT and CT fusion imaging,SPECT alone both detected five more bone lesions than planar bone imaging (77 vs 72).The diagnostic accuracy of SPECT imaging (62.34%,48/77 )was significantly higher than that of planar imaging (45.45%,35/77; x2 =4.416,P < 0.05 ).The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of SPECT and CT fusion imaging for diagnosing malignant bone lesions were significantly higher than those of planar imaging:82.35% (42/51) vs 53.19% ( 25/47),88.46% ( 23/26 ) vs 40.00% ( 10/25 ),84.42% ( 65/77 ) vs 45.45% (35/77 ; x2 =12.571,14.016,25.667,all P < 0.01 ).The diagnostic specificity and accuracy of SPECT and CT fusion imaging were significantly higher than those of SPECT alone ( 53.85%,14/26 ;62.34%,48/77) (x2 =7.589,9.606,both P <0.01 ).However, there was no significant difference of sensitivity between the two methods (x2 =2.942,P > 0.05 ).Diagnostic certainty by SPECT and CT fusion imaging was significantly higher than that by SPECT alone ( H =28.000,P < 0.05 ) and by planar imaging (H =21.000,P < 0.05).ConclusionSPECT and CT fusion imaging can detect more bone lesions in patients with pediatric neuroblastoma. It is helpful for diagnosing bone metastases from pediatric neuroblastoma.

Objective: To discuss the rational drug application of Kawasaki disease in children with upper respiratory tract infection in order to provide reference for the therapy of Kawasaki disease suspected of bacterial meningitis. Methods: The medical record of a 2-year-old boy with Kawasaki disease was retrospectively analyzed, and the anti-infection treatment was analyzed and evaluated.Meanwhile, the mechanism of elevated leukocyte count in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)of children with incomplete Kawasaki disease was discussed. The pharmaceutical care and treatment results in the diagnosis and treatment process were analyzed as well. Results: The anti-infective therapy in early stage was reasonable as the early symptoms of respiratory tract infection in the child were obvious, however, the choice of aztreonam was defective. On the premise of the clinical diagnosis of Kawasaki disease and excluding bacterial meningitis, the medication was timely adjusted. Finally, the symptoms of the child were improved. Conclusion: The application of anti-infection drugs should be reasonable in clinics, and the abnormality in cerebrospinal fluid should be paid more attention in children with Kawasaki disease. It is necessary to strengthen clinical observation and pharmaceutical care in order to guarantee the safety of medication for patients.

Objective To observe the changes of hospitalization rates of patients with goiter in Lianyungang City in a coastal area with mild iodine deficiency in 2002-2010.Methods Medical reports of patients with goiter from county hospitals were studied at county level with a retrospective method. In accordance with the National Iodized Salt Monitoring Program, nine townships(towns) were taken from each county (district) [total of five counties(districts)]; four villages were selected from each township (town); salt samples were taken from eight households in each village, and salt iodine was determined using direct titration of sodium thiosulfate. Results The hospitalization rate of patient with goiter increased from 1.87/10 million in 2002 to 7.05/10 million in 2009,and then fluctuated to 6.06/10 million in 2010(x2 =281.91,P< 0.01).Among them, female's hospitalization rates were significantly higher than that of male 's(The variation range of x2 values were 35.23-116.04,all P < 0.01),and the hospitalization rates of people over the age of 40 years were significantly higher than that of people less than 40 years of age(The variation range of x2 values were 33.04-263.04,all P < 0.01),and the hospitalization rates of people in urban areas were significantly higher than that of people in rural areas (The variation range of x2 values were 18.35-140.00,all P < 0.01).Average salt iodine was 27.61-30.13 mg/kg in 2002-2010.The coverage rate of iodized salt and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt both increased year by year (x2 =183.75,211.99,P < 0.01).There was a positive correlation between hospitalization rate of patient with goiter and coverage rate of iodized salt(spearman correlation coefficient was 0.83,P < 0.05).There was a positive correlation between hospitalization rate of patient with goiter and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt too (spearman correlation coefficient was 0.93,P < 0.05).Conclusions In Lianyungang City, the hospitalization rate of patient with goiter, the coverage rate of iodized salt and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt all show upward trend in 2002-2010.The relationship among them is worth further study.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2014;29(12):934-936
Objective To analyze the correlation between the expression of phosphoinositide-3 kinase, catalytic subunit beta (PIK3CB) and the clinicopathologic characteristics in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to determine PIK3CB expression in human gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and matched adjacent tissues. The correlation between PIK3CB expression and the patients' clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis was statistically analyzed. Results PIK3CB is highly expressed in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues (positive rate 63.8%) compared with matched adjacent tissues (positive rate 45.7%) (x2 =9.139,P =0.003).PIK3CB expression is significantly correlated with tumor size (x2 =8.677,P =0.003),infiltration (x2 =9.306,P =0.025),and clinical stage (x2 =8.242,P =0.041) ; Level of PIK3CB expression has a significant impact on prognosis (x2 =25.644,P =0.000).Multivariate analyses showed that high PIK3CB expression is an independent poor prognostic factor for overall survival (HR =15.785,95% CI:1.943-7.805,P =0.000).Conclusions Upregulated PIK3CB is correlated with poor postoperative prognosis of gastric carcinoma.
