OBJECTIVE:To eualuate in vitro antibacterial activities of silver nitrate and povidone-iodine for preventing ophthalmia neonatorum. METHODS:Minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) and mininmal bactericidal concentration (MBC) were deter-mined by double broth dilution method. RESULTS:For Stapanrens Streppnenmonia and N gonorhveae,the MIC50 of silver nitrate were＜4～8μg.ml－1 and its MIC90 were 8～32μg.ml－1.The MIC50 of povidone-iodine were64～256μg.ml－1 and its MBC90were 512 μg.ml-1. CONCLUSION: Silver nitrate and povidone-iodine exhibited activities against common pathogens of ophthalmia neonatorum isolates.Silver nitrate was more active than povidone-iodine.

Objective To analyze the pre-transplant sera of renal graft recipients for soluble CD30 level and study the correlation between sCD30 level and acute rejection (AR),lung infection or renal graft loss.To investigate the feasibility of sCD30 level for pre-transplant risk evaluation in renal transplant recipients.Methods 586 renal graft recipients were enrolled into this study,who had complete 5-year follow-up data and sufficient pre-transplant sera for analysis.Pre-transplant sera were collected for detection of sCD30 level by ELISA and patients were divided into three groups according to sCD30 level:group L (sCD30＜120 U/ml),group I (sCD30 120-240U/ml) and group H (sCD30 ＞240 U/ml).Incidence of AR,lung infection,graft loss and postoperative 5-year patients and renal allograft survival rate were compared among three groups.Correlation analysis was also performed between pre-operative sCD30 level and postoperative dialysis time,AR,or lung infection.Results The average pre-transplantation sCD30 level was significantly higher than that of healthy individuals (P＜0.01 ).During the 5-year follow-up period,the incidence of AR in groups L,I and H was 17.4％ (45/259),29.2％ (77/264) and 42.9％ (27/63) respectively,and the lung infection rate was 20.8％,8.3％ and 15.9％ respectively.There was significant differences in AR incidence and lung infection rate among these three groups (P＜0.01).The pre-transplantation sCD30 level in patients with AR was (180.0± 89.1) U/ml,which was significantly higher than in those without AR (135.3 ± 72.7 U/ml,P＜0.01).The pre-transplantation sCD30 level in patients with lung infection was (123.2±75.5) U/ml,which was significantly lower than in those without lung infection (150.7 ± 79.6 U/mL,P＜0.01).The pre-transplantation sCD30 level had a positive relationship with AR (r =0.242,P＜0.01),but a negative correlation with lung infection (r=- 0.147,P＜0.01).In group H, five-year cumulative survival rate of recipients and renal grafts was 79.4％ and 69.8％ respectively,which was significantly lower than in group L (90.3％ and 87.3％),and group I (91.3％ and 87.6％) (P＜0.05,P＜0.01),but there was no significant difference between group L and group I (P＜0.01).Conclusion Pretransplant sCD30 level in renal transplant recipients is remarkably correlated with postoperative AR and lung infection,which can be considered as an independent predictor for postoperative AR,lung infection and the risk of graft function loss.

Objective To compare the applicability of the 7th and 6th editions of the UICC-AJCC esophageal cancer TNM staging systems for adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction (EGJ).Methods During June 2007 through December 2010,199 patients with EGJ adenocarcinoma(Siewert type Ⅱ) underwent R0-intent resection in our hospital.Their clinicopatholigical and survival data were retrospectively analyzed with Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression models.They were restaged according to the 7th and 6th UICC/AJCC TNM staging systems for esophageal cancer,respectively.Then the Akaike information criterion(AIC) was used for measuring goodness of fit of both staging systems.Results Among 199 patients,there were 162 males and 37 females.Univariate analysis indicated that age(P =0.009),surgical approach(P =0.002),cell differentiation (P =0.030),preoperative co-morbidity (P =0.026),depth of tumor invasion (P ＜ 0.000) and number of metastatic lymph nodes(P ＜ 0.000) were significant influencing factors on overall survival.Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the independent prognostic factors for EGJ adenocarcinoma were age,T stage,N stage and preoperative co-morbidity according to the 6th edition of esophageal cancer TNM staging system,and only T stage,N stage and preoperative co-morbidity according to the 7th edition of esophageal cancer TNM staging system.The AIC value was 961.4 for the 7th edition of esophageal cancer staging system and 972.4 for the 6th edition.Conclusion The 7th edition of UICC/AJCC esophageal cancer TNM classification is su perior to its 6th edition of esophageal cancer staging system for EGJ adenocarcinoma.

Abstract: Objective To analyze the changes of coagulation indicators in patients with hepatitis B complicated with Clonorchis sinensis (C. Sinensis), and provide reference value for diagnosis, drug using and prognosis monitoring. Methods　The patient samples were collected from the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from June 2018 to February 2022 and divided into six groups. They were 40 healthy patients, 47 patients with simple chronic hepatitis B, 47 patients with post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis, 40 patients with C. Sinensis mono-infection, 30 patients with chronic hepatitis B patients co-infected with C. Sinensis and 27 patients with post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis patients coinfected with C. Sinensis. Four coagulation indexes, prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and fibrinogen (FIB), were detected and compared among the groups. Results Compared with the healthy group, C. Sinensis mono-infection group had higher level of FIB and delayed PT, APTT; chronic hepatitis B group and chronic hepatitis B patients co-infected with C. Sinensis group had delayed PT, APTT, TT and significant lower FIB, these differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Compared with simple chronic hepatitis B group, post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis B patients co-infected with C. Sinensis had significant delayed PT, APTT, TT and lower FIB (all P<0.05). Compared with the post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis B patients co-infected with C. Sinensis, post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis patients coinfected with C. Sinensis group had significant delayed PT, APTT, TT and lower FIB (all P<0.05). Conclusions The coinfection of C. Sinensis will further aggravate the coagulation dysfunction of HBV patients, leading to poor treatment and prognosis. HBV patients will have worse coagulation function in the process to post-hepatitis B liver cirrhosis; Therefore, it is important to pay attention to C. Sinensis co-infection when treating HBV patients, so that further guidance on clinical use and monitoring of prognosis can be provided.

Objective To analyze the basic situations and curative effect of psychotics treated in open psychotic ward in general hospital,and explore a new managing model with advanced treatment for psychosis patients.Methods 3 803 psychotics,treated in the open psychotic ward since it's setting,were analyzed as a retrospective study.Results The data including the proportion of diseases,the basic information of the patients,the length of stay and the curative effect,were different from that in traditional psychiatric facilities.Conclusion The open psychotic wards setting in general hospital is an effective treating and managing model for psychotics.

Objective Via targeted inhibition of oncogene Bmi-1 expression by RNAi interfering technology in vitro, to observe its effect on the proliferation and cell cycle of gallbladder cancer cells. Methods Four miRNABmi-1 recombinant plasmids were constructed according to different Bmi-1 sites. RT-PCR and Western blot were used to mRNA and protein expression of Bmi-1 in gallbladder cancer cells were measured by RT-PCR and Western blot. mRNA and protein expression of Bmi-1 in gallbladder cancer cells. The most effective interfering plasmids in the miRNABmi-1 groups were transfected into GBC-SD cells. Cell proliferation and cell cycle were analyzed 48 h after transfection by BrdU and flow cytometry. Results Bmi-1mRNA expression in miRNAbmi1-1,-3 and-4 was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05);and Bmi-1 protein expression in miRNAbmi1-2,-3 and-4 was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). The recombinant plasmid in miRNAbmi1-4, with the strongest inhibitive effect of Bmi-1mRNA and protein expression, was transfected into GBC-SD cells,then the cell proliferation rate (46.63 ± 5.31) was significantly lower in mRNABmi1-4 group than the control groups (P<0.05);G0/G1 phase cells increased (72.20 ± 1.71) and G2/M and S phase cells decreased (18.30 ± 7.21, 9.50 ± 6.01) in miRNABmi1-4 group. Both were significantly different from the control groups (P<0.05). Conclusions Targeting and silencing Bmi-1 expression can effectively inhibit the proliferation of GBC-SD cells and restrain the cell cycle atin G0/G1 phase. Bmi-1 gene may be a novel target for geneic therapy of gallbladder carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the differences on lymphatic vessel density (LVD) among esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC),esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and normal esophageal tissues,and analyze the clinical significance.Methods Twenty samples of EAC,24 samples of ESCC and 20 cases of normal esophageal tissues were obtained at the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from January 2004 to January 2011.D2-40 was used for immunostaining of lymphatic vessels in EAC,and antibodies of D2-40 and Ki-67 were used together to detect proliferation of lymphatic vessels.The differences in the LVD among EAC,ESCC and normal esophageal tissues were analyzed.All data were analyzed using the analysis of variance or t test.Results D2-40 staining could identify the lymphatic vessels,and antibodies of D2-40 and Ki-67 could detect the proliferation of lymphatic vessels.The LVD of EAC,ESCC and normal esophageal tissues were (3.3 ± 1.7)/0.17 mm2,(4.6 ± 1.2)/0.17 mm2 and (3.8 ± 1.2)/0.17 mm2,respectively,with significant differences (F =5.44,P ＜0.05).The LVD of EAC was significantly lower than that of ESCC (t =3.074,P ＜ 0.05),while there was no significant difference in the LVD between the EAC and normal esophageal tissues (t =-1.022,P ＞ 0.05).There were significant differences in the LVD between the ESCC and normal esophageal tissues (t =2.395,P ＜ 0.05).There were significant differences in the LVD between EAC patients with deglutition discomfort and those with pain (t =3.092,P ＜ 0.05).There were significant differences in the LVD between EAC patients with course ＜6 months and those with course≥6 months (t =3.092,P ＜ 0.05).No statistical difference in clinicopathological parameters including gender,age,site of lesion,tumor diameter,pathological morphology,T stage,N stage,G stage,TNM clinical stage and lymph node metastasis were detected (t ＝ 1.130,1.020,F =0.082,t =0.799,F =0.692,t =0.694,1.820,0.353,0.969,0.969,P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The LVD of EAC is lower than that of ESCC,but is similar to that of normal esophageal tissues.The LVD of EAC is correlated with the symptoms and course of patients.

Master of biomedical engineering degree is necessary for students to adapt to the trend of social and scientific development.Based on the social demands,staff working at academy of biomedical engineering department in Wuhan University create the master course and modify teaching methods,in order to integrate positive factors into our master of biomedical engineering course.These new teaching methods are implemented through entire course,which aims to improve students' abilities of critical thinking,creativity and operation.We also explore the new teaching methods to enabte students to be qualified with biomedical engineering work in the future.

Objective To compare the differences of event-related potentials (ERP) of left and right cerebral hemispheres and behavioral characteristics in the mental arithmetic practice between ADHD and normal children,and to explore the neural mechanisms of mental arithmetic by ADHD children.Methods ERP and behavioral data of 32 ADHD and 32 normal children in mental arithmetic,to illustrate,simple addition,subtraction and multiplication within 20 were recorded.Results ERP:① The differences of N2 amplitudes in ADHD children 's left and right cerebral hemispheres while doing mental arithmetic,such as,addition,subtraction and multiplication were not statistically significant (addition:(-6.2±7.3) μV,(-6.6± 8.1) pV ; subtraction:(-5.5±6.4) μV,(-5.8± 6.5) μV ; multiplication:(-5.9± 8.2) μV,(-6.0± 8.6) μV ; all P＞0.05).However,normal group's N2 amplitude of left hemisphere(F3) were obviously higher than those of the right hemisphere (F4),considered to be statistically significant difference (addition:(-6.8±4.0) μV,(-5.9±4.3) μV ; subtraction:(-7.5±4.8) μV,(-6.3±4.4) μV ;multiplication:(-6.9±3.7)μV,(-5.7±4.4)pV ; all P＜0.05).② ADHD group's N2 amplitude of subtraction practice was significantly lower than that of addition and multiplication,while normal control group was the opposite.③There were not statistically difference between N2 incubation of left and right hemisphere while addition,subtraction,and multiplication were done (P＞0.05).Behaviorism:① ADHD group's reaction time towards answer making were much longer than those of the normal control group (addition:(983± 183) ms,(833± 164) ms ; subtraction:(1005±160)ms,(859±170)ms;multiphcation:(975±180)ms,(836±175)ms; P＜0.05).② Accurate rate:ADHD group were all lower than those of normal group.Conclusion There were functional limitations of no obviously advantage hemisphere and two hemisphere coordination while ADHD children were performing mental arithmetic,also hmitations in conflicting information processing,decision making,and more obviously in subtraction practice.
