Journal of Interventional Radiology 2001;0(06):-
Objective To synthesize a new-type thermosensitive liquid embolic material and to investigate the feasibility of using this material to occlude cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).Methods The copolymer was synthesized with N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) and N-n-propylacrylamide (NNPAM),and it's physical and biological properties were estimated. The embolization of AVMs model in vitro by using this copolymer was conducted and the results were analyzed. Results The new-type copolymer possessed unique thermal behavior of lower critical soluble temperature (LCST),and it was water-soluble and non-adhesive with better biocompatibility. The successful embolization of AVMs model could be reliably obtained. Conclusion The copolymer synthesized by the authors is a new-type liquid embolic agent suitable for endovascular embolization of cerebral AVMs in vitro.Based on the results in experiment animals having been reported in medical literature, this copolymer can be further used in clinical research.

Objective:To explore the current situation of obtaining high quality and efficient medical service in clinical application of mobile tele-consultation terminal about cell phone. Methods: The technical basis of mobile teleconsultation terminal of cell phone and its application status in domestic and abroad were analyzed. This method was compared with other tele-consultation method at service, mode and cost and other aspects. Results: In the clinical application, mobile tele-consultation terminal about cell phone has many positive roles and advantages, for example, it could enhance the level of diagnosis and treatment for doctor who work in district and community, and resolve medical burden for patients, and promote grading diagnosis and treatment. Conclusion:The mobile tele-consultation terminal can obtain high quality and efficient medical service by investing lower capital. And with the continuous development of the network tele-consultation technique, satellite consultation technique and mobile terminal consultation of cell phone in future, they will further enhance the hospital medical service ability.

OBJECTIVETo study the over-expression of mutant p53 protein in non-mucinous adenocarcinoma in-situ (NMAIS) and invasive adenocarcinoma, NOS of lung.
METHODSImmunohistochemical study for p53 protein was performed on 17 cases of NMAIS and 70 cases of invasive adenocarcinoma, NOS of lung. The difference in p53 over-expression between the two tumor subtypes was analyzed.
RESULTSThe over-expression of mutant p53 protein was observed in 0 case (0%) of NMAIS and 37 cases (52.9%) of invasive adenocarcinoma, NOS of lung. The difference was of statistical significance (P = 0.000).
CONCLUSIONMutant p53 protein over-expression may play a role in the progression of NMAIS to invasive adenocarcinoma, NOS.

Objective To investigate the effect of IL-1 7A on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced neuroinflammation and fear conditioning test. Methods Among 70 male SD rats aged 18 months, firstly, thirty rats were randomly divided into five groups:control group(group A),LPS 6 h group (group B),12 h group(group C),24 h group(group D),48 h group(group E).Group A were injected intraperitoneally with normal saline and groups B,C,D and E were injected with LPS 500 μg/kg.Ani-mals of groups A,B,C,D and E were killed respectively after LPS injection and their hippoeampus tis-sue was detected for the concentration of IL-1 7A.Secondly,forty rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group(group O),IL-1 7A antibody group(group P),LPS group (group Q),IL-1 7A antibody+LPS group(group R).Group P and group R were injected intracerebroventricularly with IL-1 7A antibodies 3 μl (200 μg/μl),groups O and Q were injected equal volume of normal saline.30 min later, groups Q and R were injected intraperitoneally with LPS 500 μg/kg,groups O and P were in-jected equal volume of normal saline.24 h later, contextual fear conditioning test was performed. Then, all animals were killed and their hippocampus tissue would be detected for the concentration of TNF-αand IL-6,as well as the expression of Iba1-positive cells. Results The concentration of IL-1 7A of groups B,C,D and E increased significantly compared with group A (P <0.01 ),there was no difference between groups E and A.The freezing time of groups Q and R was significantly shortened than that in group O(P <0.01 or P <0.05 ),the freezing time of group R was significantly longer than that in group Q(P <0.01).The concentration of TNF-αand IL-6 of groups Q and R was obvi-ously higher than group O(P <0.01 ),the concentration of TNF-α and IL-6 of group R lower than group Q(P <0.01).The expression of Iba1-positive cells in hippocampal area CA1 of groups Q and R was obviously increased compared with group O(P <0.01).Compared with group Q,the expression of Iba1-positive cells in hippocampal area CA1 of group R were obviously decreased (P < 0.05 ). Conclusion IL-1 7A is implicated in the early stage of LPS-induced neuroinflammation and the chan-ging of freezing time in contextual fear conditioning in aged rats.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(17):2649-2654
BACKGROUND:Drainage has been applied as a routine to hip and knee replacement surgery. However, as a potential channel, drainage could become a portal for bacteria and other pathogens to invade the joint cavity. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical significance and safety of drainage in total knee arthroplasty.
METHODS:The 80 patients were prospectively randomized into two groups:Group 1 included 38 patients with wound drainage;Group 2 included 42 patients without any drainage. According to a formula calculation, blood loss, the number of subjects requiring blood transfusion, volume of blood transfusion, complications and the recovery of function after total knee arthroplasty were statistical y analyzed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The subjects were fol owed up for 2 years after discharge. Two patients lost to fol ow up in the non-drainage group. 78 patients were involved in the result analysis. The total blood loss, the number of subjects requiring blood transfusion and volume of blood transfusion were more in the drainage group than those in the non-drainage group after surgery. At 3 days after arthroplasty, active range of motion was larger in the drainage group than that in the non-drainage group. No significant differences in hemoglobin levels and Keen Society Score scores were detected after arthroplasty between the two groups. Results suggested that draining wil increase the blood loss and blood transfusion, but it may contribute to the early recovery of knee function. No significant differences in long-period Keen Society Score scores and postoperative complications were detectable between the two groups.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2006;4(3):256-9
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (XFZYD) on functions of vascular endothelium in patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP). METHODS: Fifty patients with UAP were randomly divided into two groups: XFZYD-treated group with 32 cases and control group with 18 cases. The patients in the control group were given regular therapy, while the patients in the XFZYD-treated group were given XFZYD additionally on the basis of regular therapy. All patients in both groups were treated for 8 weeks. Then the contents of serum endothelin (ET), nitric oxide (NO), soluble vascular cell adhesive molecule-1 (sVCAM-1) and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) were examined by radioimmunoassay, enzymic method and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) respectively. RESULTS: The total response rate in the XFZYD-treated group was 93.75%, which was significantly higher than 66.67% in the control group (P<0.05). The contents of serum ET, sVCAM-1 and sICAM-1 in the XFZYD-treated group were much lower than those in the control group (P<0.01), while the content of serum NO was obviously higher than that in the control group (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: XFZYD can improve the functions of vascular endothelium by lowering the levels of endothelium-derived contracting substances, enhancing the levels of endothelium-derived relaxing substances, and reducing the cell adhesions, and hence to raise the therapeutic effects on UAP.
