AIM:To evaluate the recovery about the visual cortex function of stereopsis in anisometropic amblyopia after regular amblyopia treatment 6, 12 and 18mo with blood oxygenation level dependent - function magnetic resonance imaging techniques ( BOLD-fMRI) .
METHODS: In this study, self-controlled study before and after treatment was used, and blocks-designed fMRI was performed on 11 children which was the first phase of research for amblyopic treatment. Functional MRI data were processed by using SPM8 which based on the Matlab 7. 12. 0. 635. Through the hypothesis drive method, the differences range of activated area in each group were compared by before and after amblyopia treatment matched t-test.
RESULTS: The functional area that was left occipital lobe (BA18), middle occipital gyrus (BA19), limbic lobe (BA19), lingualis gyrus of the right occipital lobe (BA17) and the bilateral parietal lobe ( BA7 ) expanded after amblyopia treatment 6, 12mo, compared those treatment phase, mean t value was 1. 5762, 1. 6856 respectively (P<0. 001). However, the difference of activated intensity was lower after 18mo, mean t value was 1. 1473 (0. 001
CONCLUSION: In children anisometropic amblyopia, the speed of function reconstruction about visual cortical functional mediating stereopsis increase slowly after amblyopia treatment 1a.

Objective To validate the effectiveness of the Chinese version of the EORTC QLQ‐OES18 in the patients with e‐sophageal cancer .Methods The QLQ‐OES18 questionnaire was used to assess the quality of life in 112 patients with esophageal cancer .The results of various items were statistically analyzed by adopting the Cronbach′s coefficient ,Spearman correlation analy‐sis ,multiple strengthen analysis and Wilcoxon Rank Sum test .Results The Cronbach′sαcoefficient of four multi‐item dimensions (dysphagia ,eating ,reflux and pain) was 0 .607-0 .822 ,moreover the correlation coefficients of all items with their own dimensions were more than those of other dimensions .The absolute values of correlation coefficients in each dimension between EORTC QLQ‐OES18 and EORTC QLQ‐C30 were 0 .002-0 .538 .The difference of swallowing item among the groups by KPS scores had statisti‐cal significance (P<0 .05) .Conclusion EORTC QLQ‐OES18 scale has better credibility and validity ,and can be used for evalua‐ting the quality of life in the patients with esophageal cancer .

Objective To report the primary experience of open placement of triple-branched stent graft for acute Stanford type A aortic dissection. Methods Between June 2008 and September 2009, 20 well-selected patients with acute Stanford type A aortic dissection underwent open placement of triple-branched stent graft for total arch reconstruction. When core cooling to a 20℃ nasophageal temperature, perfusion to the lower body was discontinued and the ascending aorta was transected at the base of the innominate artery. Through a transverse incision, the triple-branched stent graft was inserted into the true lumen of the arch and descending aorta, and each side arm of the stent graft was positioned one by one into the arch branches. The transected stump of the ascending aorta was reconstructed by inner proximal stent-free dacron tube of the main graft and outer teflon felt, and subsequently continuous anastomosis to the 1-branched dacron tube graft was made. Results Open placement of triple-branched stent graft was technically successful in all patients. The mean cardiopulmonary bypass time, aortic cross-clamp time and lower body arrest time were (163.2 ±19.2) min, (89.4 ±10.0) min and (32. 7 ±6. 6)min, respectively. Transient postoperative neurological dysfunction was observed in 1 patient and acute renal failure in 1 patient. All patients were discharged from the hospital. Their computed tomographic scans at 3 months postoperatively showed that all stent grafts were fully opened without distortion. In the vascular stent implantation site the dissected false lumen was eliminated. The false lumen of the descending aorta distal to the stent graft was closed with thrombus in 16 cases. Conclusion Open placement of triple-branched stent graft is a new effective technique for total arch reconstruction in acute type A aortic dissection. Patients have the indications of the extensive primary repair of the thoracic aorta without primary intimal tears in the arch may be the best candidates for this new technique. The size of the stent graft, the distances between two neighboring side arm grafts and the prevention of the intimal trauma during the placement are crucial for successful open placement of triple-branched stent graft.

Objective To establish a method of automatic analysis of iodide in drinking water. Methods In accordance with the principles of the National Standard Methods Standard Testing Methods for Dringking Water (GB 5750-2006),the reagent concentration and the ratio of dosage were optimized; the national standard artificial colorimetric detection of iodide in drinking water was substituted by automatic biochemical analyzer colorimetric analysis procedure; the accuracy and the precision of the new method were observed and compared with the National Standard Methods. Results In determination of iodide in drinking water by using automatic biochemical analyzer, the best linear ranges of the standard curve:low concentrations 0-< 50 μg/L with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 1,and the detection limit was 0.4 μg/L; at high concentrations of 50-500 μg/L the correlation coefficient was 0.999 3,and the detection limit was 4.0 μg/L.The coefficient of variation was 2.2%-4.2% and the recovery was between 98.6%-1035%.Compared with the National Standard Methods, the difference was not statistically significant (t =0.97-1.70,all P > 0.05).Conclusions The method of determination of iodide in drinking water by using automatic biochemical analyzer is successfully established. The accuracy and the precision of the method can meet the quality requirements of water quality analysis.

Objective To study the induction of integrin molecules mediated by CYR61 in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC). Methods A recombinant expression plasmid containing full length of human CYR61 labeled with human IgG Fc fragment was constructed and identified by DNA sequencing.COS7 was used as host cell for identification of secretary CYR61 expression, confirmed by Western blot method. The commercial lipofectin was adopted for recombinant plasmid transfection into PBMC.Real-time PCR was ultilized to analyze expression patterns of CYR61 and integrin molecules in transfected PBMC. Results The insert sequence was correct in the recombinant plasmid.Western blot test showed that CYR61 protein secreted into culture supernatant or was in COS7 cytoplasm. The recombinant plasmid was transfected into PBMC stimulated with phytohemagglutinine(PHA) to induce CYR61 expression and secretion. The results demonstrated that exogenous CYR61 transcribed rapidly after being incubated with PHA and reached the peak after 24 h.But the expression dropped down quickly to a very low level after 48 h.Simultaneously, integrin molecules expressed just after CYR61 transcription. In the set of integrin molecules tested in the study,?v,?M,?3 and ?5 expression were higher than the other integrin molecules(P

Object To investigate the in vivo antioxidant effect of the extract from Rosmarinus officinalis L. and its active substances. Methods The contents of MDA, the activites of SOD and GSH Px in serum, heart, liver, brain and skeleton muscle were determined in oxidative stress mouse model caused by exercise. Results It was found that in serum, liver, heart and skeleton muscle except the brain, the contents of MDA were decreased and the activities of SOD and GSH Px were increased by 250 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg of total phenolic diterpenes (TPD) extract taken. Conclusion The results showed that R. officinalis has prominent antioxidant effect in exercise mice and the active constituents may be phenolic diterpenes.
