OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of closed reduction and ulna intramedullary nail fixation for the treatment of fresh Monteggia fractures of Bado type I and II in children.

METHODSTwenty-three children patients with Monteggia fracture during July 2010 to September 2013 were treated by closed reduction and ulna intramedullary nail fixaion including 18 boys and 5 girls with an average age of 9.3 years old ranging from 6 to 13 years old. Among them,15 cases were Bado type I and 8 cases were Bado type II. There were 9 cases with radial nerve injury. The operation time,the recovery of nerve injury, the fracture healing and the function of elbow were observed and recorded.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months (12 months on average). All patients were obtained bone healing. According to Anderson standard, at the final follow-up, 20 cases got excellent result, 2 cases got good result, and one case got fair result.

CONCLUSIONTreatment of the fresh Monteggia fractures in children by closed reduction and ulna intramedullary nail fixation has advantages of simple operation, less trauma and good results.

OBJECTIVE: To establishes an HPLC method for determination of the contents of Osthol and Berberine in Kangfuyan effervescent suppository. METHODS: HPLC was carried out on a column of Diamonsil (250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.2% phosphate acid (52∶48,Lauryl sulfonic acid sodium 0.1 g was contained in every 100 mL) with flow rate at 1 mL?min-1.The detection wavelength was set at 322 nm and the column temperature was set at room temperature. RESULTS: The linear range was 0.019 8～0.396 0 ?g(r=0.999 97) for Osthole versus 0.056 65～1.133 00 ?g(r=0.999 99) for Berberine. The average recoveries of Osthol and Berberine were 101.06% (RSD=1.10%) and 101.88%(RSD=0.98%), respectively. CONCLUSION: This method is simple, accurate and reproducible, and applicable for the quality control of Kangfuyan effervescent suppository.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of repeated sintering on the color and translucency of dental lithium disilicate-based glass ceramic.

METHODSThirty disc specimens (10 mm in diameter, and 1.00 mm ± 0.01 mm in thickness) were fabricated using an IPS e.max Press HT A2 ingot and then randomly divided into six groups (SO, S1, S2, S3, S4, and S5) (n = 5). Each group was sintered 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times individually according to the manufacturer's recommendation. After polishing, ultrasonic cleaning, and drying, the color parameters (L*, a*, and b* values) and transmittance (τ) of all the specimens were measured using a ShadeEye NCC dental colorimeter and a TM-2 spectrophotometer, respectively. Subsequently, C*ab and ΔE were calculated. The results were statistically analyzed using SPSS 17.0 software for ANOVA and LSD.

RESULTSAfter repeated sintering, the L* value significantly decreased (P < 0.05), and the a*, b*, and C*ab values initially increased and then decreased (P < 0.05). The color parameters (L*, a*, and b*) and the C*ab values of group S3 were higher than those of the other groups. The τ values initially increased and then decreased (P < 0.05), and these values were optimal when sintered twice. In terms of transmittance (τ), statistical differences existed between the following groups: S0 and S2, S0 and S3,.S2 and S5, and S3 and S5 (P < 0.05). Compared with group S0, the color differences ΔE were 0.89 minimally and 2.01 maximally after different sintering times, which can be clinically acceptable.

CONCLUSIONRepeated sintering can affect the color and translucency of the IPS e.max Press lithium disilicate-based glass ceramic, but the color difference can be clinically acceptable.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of testing amino acids levels in brain microdialysate by method of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with α-aminobutyric acid (AABA) as the internal standard.MethodsReversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC), orthophthaladehyde (OPA) precolumn derivatization method and fluorescence detector were used. The separation was performed using an ODS-C18 column. AABA, an isomeric compound of GABA, served as the internal standard, phosphate buffer solution and methanol as the mobile phase, gradient elution lasted in 35 min.Results7 kinds of amino acids and internal standard were separated completely. The mean recovery of amino acid was 88.2%—102.3%. The mean correlation coeffeicient of the linear relationship was 0.998±0.0015.Limits of detection for amino acids were 1.0—8.6 ppm respectively.ConclusionThe method mentioned above is simple and sensitive for operation, and can be used for determined levels of amino acids in microdialysate.

Objective To understand the basic situation of hospital infection ,relevant problems were collected so as to pro‐vide reference for making infection control program .Methods Infection data in 2013 was reviewed and input into database which was built by EpiData3 .0 ;the descriptive statistical method was used for the characters of clinical distribution of hospital infection and χ2 test was used for the rate comparison by the SPSS17 .0 software .Results Four hundred and thirteen hospital infection cases were found in 2013 and infection rate was 1 .2% ,which was higher in patients with malignant tumor .The main parts of hosipital in‐fection were respiratory and urinary system .Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa ,Acinetobacter bacteria Bauman ,Staphylococ‐cus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae were the main pathogen in nosocomial infection .Conclusion The focus for future prevention and control work are to strengthen hospital infection training ,susceptible sites management ,and formulate relevant rules of opera‐tion .

Objective To study the effect of lincomycin hydrochloride on the intestinal mucosal barrier of mice. Methods A total of 24 mice were equally and randomly divided into normal control group and model group. Mice in the model group were administered with 8 mg · kg-1 · d-1 of lincomycin hydrochloride through gastric lavage for 3 days to establish the model of intestinal mucosa injury and alteration of intestinal flora in mice. The intestinal flora was tested,bacterial translocation was analyzed,and mucosa permeability was determined by measuring diamine oxidase( DAO)in plasma. Results Lincomycin hydrochloride led to alteration of intestinal flora in mice after oral administration for three days in mice. The aerobes translocation rate was 16. 7% and 52. 3% in the normal and model groups,respectively(P〈0. 01). The anaerobes translocation rate was 8. 3% and 68. 2% in the normal and model groups,respectively(P〈0. 01). The plasma concentration of diamine oxidase was increased from(2. 08±0. 05)mg·mL-1 in the normal group to(7. 18±0. 10)mg·mL-1 in the model group(P〈0. 01). Conclusion Lincomycin hydrochloride damages intestinal mucosal barrier in mice.

Purpose To investigate the significance of arterial phase display of right ovarian vein (ROV) for patients with pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) through multi-slice CT angiography (MSCTA) Materials and Methods Forty-three patients with PCS confirmed clinically who underwent MSCTA were involved in the study. Revascularization was realized via add vessel volume rendering technique and maximum intensity projection (MIP) and the relationships among ROV early development, location of converging vascular, development of LOV and pelvic draining veins were analyzed. Results Out of 43 cases of ROV early development during arterial phase, 21 cases (48.8%) took ROV as draining vein of PCS, among which 17 cases (81.0%) converged into the inferior cava vena. In 19 cases (44.2%), ROV took part in the formation of PCS, all originating from the main right renal vein. Three cases (7.0%) were renal vein-derived PCS, among which two ROV originated from the main right renal vein and one from the branch of the right renal vein. Conclusion According to the imaging features of bilateral ovarian veins and pelvic veins, ROV, as draining veins, is associated with the formation of PCS.

Objective To establish a rapid method having great capability for enrichment and anti-interference, higher sensitivity and good precision for determination of trace silver in drinking water. Methods The conditions of determination such as the definition of peak potentials, the selection of auxiliary electrolytes, the selection of kind and amount of oxidants and anti-interference test were carried out by MP-1 potentiometer using glass-carbon electrode. Results The lowest detection limit, average recorery rate and average relative standard deviation were 0.004 ug/ml, 100.3% and 2.73% respectively. Conclusion This method was suitable for determination of trace silver in drinking water.

Objective To investigate the expression of Dickkopf-3 (Dkk-3) in esophageal cancer and normal esophageal tissue and the relationship between Dkk-3 expression and the biological behaveior of esophageal cancer. Methods Immunohistochemical method of S-P was used to examine Dkk-3 expression in 69 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 5 cases of normal esophageal tissue with non-tumor tissue microarray and the results were analyzed and correlated with their clinical and pathological features. Results Positive Dkk-3 expression was observed in 65.7% (44/67) of the esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cases, but only one of the five cases with normal esophageal tissue showed positive microvascular expression of Dkk-3. In cases with positive expression of Dkk-3 significant differences were found in fiber membrane infiltration, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging (P < 0. 05), while no significant differences were found in the age, gender and pathological grading (P > 0. 05). Conclusions The upregnlation of Dkk-3 expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma may contribute to tumor invasion and metastasis.
