1.Mass cultivation of EPA-rich marine microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata
Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(01):-
Industrial culture media for cultivation of marine microalgae Nannochloropsis oculata was optimized by using Random Design software. High eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) content was obtained over 40% of total fatty acid, and high average specific growth rate of 0.32d -1 was obtained in cells grown in the selected Formula 1. Mass cultivation of this species was practiced in indoor open raceway ponds of 6.12 m 2 and 28.02 m 2, and in outdoor open pond of 83.50 m 2 during May and June in 1999. The average area yield of biomass were obtained at 2.77, 1.62 and 2.52 g /m 2?d, and in October, 1.09 g/ m 2?d was obtained in 83.5m 2 outdoor pond, and the harvest algae powder contained 49.50% of protein, 20.30% of total lipid and 3.00% of EPA of dry weight. With high temperature tolerant species during August in 2000, the average area yield of biomass were increased to 5.44?9.96 and 7.66 g/ m 2?d in above ponds, respectively and 2.50% of EPA of dry weight was contained in the powder. It is indicated that the industrialized cultivation of Nannochloropsis oculata rich in EPA is completely doable on practice, and the algal powder was a good raw material as single cell protein and development of EPA rich products.

ObjectiveTo compare the effect of patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) and patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) on pulmonary function in post-thoracotomy patients.Methods33 ASA Ⅰ~Ⅱ patients undergoing selective esophagectomy were randomly divided into the PCEA group (n=16, treated with morphine plus bupivacaine) and PCIA group (n=17, treated with morphine plus droperidol) for 3 days postoperatively. Pulmonary function indices including respiratory rate (RR), tidal volume (Vt), vital capacity (Vc) and pulse oximetry (SpO2) were recorded before operation and on the first 2 days after operation. Pain scores with visual analogue scale (VAS) at rest, deep breathing and with cough, and adverse effects were also recorded.ResultsRR increased, Vt , Vc and SpO2 decreased markedly in both groups postoperatively compared with the base line (P<0.01), but there were no significant differences between two groups. VAS scores were much lower in PCEA group, especially, when the patient was at deep breathing or during coughing (P<0.001).ConclusionPCEA is superior to PCIA in pain relief, but contributes no more than PCIA in improving pulmonary function in post-thoracotomy patients.

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) and patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) on postoperative nausea and vomit (PONV) in gynecologic and obstetric patients. Methods56 gynecologic or obstetric patients (ASA Ⅰ~Ⅱ) scheduled for lower abdominal surgeries were randomly allocated to receive either 1 mg/ml morphine plus 0.1 mg/ml droperidol intravenously (group PCIA) or 0.1 mg/ml morphine plus 0.125% bupivacaine (group PCEA-Ⅰ) or 0.1 mg/ml morphine plus 0.1 mg/ml droperidol plus 0.125% bupivacaine (group PCEA-Ⅱ) epidurally. 4, 24, and 48 h after operation, pain scores with visual analogus scale (VAS), sedation scores with Ramesay and the incidences of nausea, vomiting, pruritus, respiratory depression were assessed. ResultsVAS scores in the two PCEA groups were much lower than that of PCIA (P<0.01). The incidences of nausea and vomiting in PCEA-Ⅱ group were significantly lower than those in PCIA group (P<0.05), incidences of other side-effects such as pruritus, respiratory depression etc. were similar between the three groups (P>0.05). ConclusionThe regimen morphine/droperidol/bupivacaine by PCEA shows superiorities in relieving pain and reducing postoperative nausea and vomiting in gynecologic and obstetric patients.

Objective To evaluate the value of serologic teats in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis by conducting a seroprevalence survey for anti-gp210 and anti-sp100 antibodies. Methods A total of 72 consecutive primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) patients with or without Sj(o)gren's syndrome (SS) and 50 patho logic controls were studied.Antibodies were tested by ELISA assays with recombinant spl00 and purified gp210.Results The positive rates of anti-gp210 detected by ELISA was 31.1% and 45.5% in PBC patients with and without SS respectively.Among SS and virus hepatitis patients, none had anti-gp210 antibody (P<0.01).The prevalence of anti-gp210 was similar in PBC patients with and without SS.The positive rates of an ti-sp100 detected by ELISA was 14.8% and 18.2% in PBC patients with and without SS respectively.Among the patients with SS,only 3.3% was positive for anti-sp100,but none had anti-sp100 reactivity in virus hep atitis patients. The prevalence of anti-sp100 was not significantly different between PBC and SS groups. Conclusion Anti-gp210 and anti-sp100 are highly specific for PBC.The sensitivity of anti-gp210 and anti sp100 is 31.1% and 14.8% respectively. They may be helpful in the diagnosis of PBC.

Journal of Clinical Surgery 2016;24(9):669-671
Objective To analyze and discuss the effects of preserving the intercostobrachial nerve(ICBN)in modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer. Methods A total of 80 patients with breast cancer were randomly divided into the observation group and control group(n = 40 in each). The ICBN in the observation group were reserved and it was removed in the control group. Operation time, the number of lymph nodes, blood loss and complication rates were compared between groups. Two groups of patients were followed up for abnormal sensory function and relapse and metastasis. Results There were no differences in the operation time, the number of dissected lymph nodes and blood loss(P > 0. 05). There was no difference in complication rate(12. 50% vs 15. 00% )between the observation group and control group(P > 0. 05). There were significant differences in the incidence of abnormal sensory function at the first week(10. 00% vs 52. 50% ),the first month(5. 00% vs 47. 50% ),the third month(2. 50%vs 45. 50% ),the sixth month(2. 50% vs 37. 50% ),and the twelfth month(0. 00% vs 27. 50% )after op-eration between the observation group and control group(P < 0. 05). During the one-year follow-up peri-od,there was no relapse or metastasis. Conclusion Preserving ICBN in modified radical mastectomy can effectively reduce the incidence of abnormal sensory function of the upper limb.

Chinese Journal of Cancer Biotherapy 1995;0(02):-
A monoclonal antibody (McAb) 3H11 against gastric cancer with high positive rate, high selectivity and high affinity was obtained. 131 I Labeled McAb 3H11 was injected into gastric cancer-bearing nude mice, and the tumor/liver ratio, localization index, ID%/g could reach 8.26?1.26, 6.08 + 1.51, 11.00?2.62, respectively. Moreover, McAb 3H11 conjugated with 131 I could increase the cytotoxicity to tumor xenografts and decrease the side effects. The radioimmunoimage was carried out in 19 cases with gastric cancer, and positive image was obtained in 16 cases (84.2%). The radioimmunoguided surgery of gastric cancer was successfully done by submucous injection of labeled McAb 3H11 through endoscope. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for evaluation of tumor infiltrated gastric walls were 94.6%, 96.7% and 95.9%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy for identification of metastatic lymph nodes were 99.2% ,97.7% and 98.8%, respectively.
