Prostate cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the urinary system and mostly found in elderly men. Like most tumors, prostate cancer involves a variety of molecules in its occurrence and progression. More studies on the development of prostate cancer focus on the tumor markers, DNA damage repair related genes, and tumor invasion and metastasis related factors. This article presents an overview on the research progress in these three aspects.

Objective: To investigate the safety and effectiveness of the Mo. Ma proximal cerebral protection device during carotid artery stenting. Methods: The clinical data of 6 patients with severe internal carotid artery stenosis diagnosed by the Department of Interventional Radiology, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University from December 2008 to May 2010 were analyzed retrospectively. They were underwent carotid artery stenting and used Mo. Ma cerebral protection device. Neurological and head MRI examinations were performed before and 3 months after the procedure. Results: The clinical symptoms of the 6 patients were improved. The captured small plaques were found in the filter protection device. No patients had dislodgement of emboli. The severe internal carotid artery stenosis were improved significantly after the procedure (residual stenosis rate of <30%). No new ischemic lesions were found in intraoperative and postoperative MRI reexamination. During the use of Mo. Ma cerebral protection device, one patient had the upstream of external carotid blood and the distal cerebral protection device was added. One patient had acute coronary syndrome after surgery and improved after active treatment. Conclusion: In patients with severe carotid artery stenosis who performed stenting, the using of INVATEC Mo. Ma proximal cerebral protection device is relatively safe and effective, but further studies with larger sample is necessary.

Methods:Using gene recombination techniques,four luciferase reporter gene plasmids containing different length of human MUC5AC gene promoter were constructed.Site-directed mutagenesis technique was used to establish mutants of Sp-l and NF-?B site in MUC5AC gene promoter; the relative luciferase activities were detected in the transfected human pulmonary A549 cells. Objective To investigate the relative histological change of transplanted domestic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE), which were treated with different methods, in order to offer the referential data for clinical application. Methods e-PTFE treated with different methods was transplanted into subcutaneous tussue of rat. The samples harvested according to time sequence were examined by using histological and histochemical methods. Dynamic change of the structure between the e-PTFE and it's surrounded tissue was investigated based on the examination. Results Cell and tissue were observed on the inside of all the e-PTFE including the control group and the experiment groups. Heavy cell infiltration on the 3rd day was the most significant in control group, and the quantity of tissue ingrowth was also the most until the 28th day. The next was trimming group. The quantity of both cell infiltration and the tissue ingrowth in high pressure steamed group and forceps squeezed group were less than that in other groups. Conclusion Cell infiltration into domestic e-PTFE is significantly achieved since 72 hrs and fibrovascular ingrowth since the 7days after implanted e-PTFE under subcutaneous tissue of the rat. Different treatment methods of e-PTFE can affect the speed of tissue ingrowth into the e-PTFE, which could be a reference for clinic application of e-PTFE.

Objective To investigate migration of dendritic cells(DC)in orthotopic rat liver transplantation models.Methods Allogeneic models(Wistar→SD,experimental group)and syngenic models(Wistar→Wistar,control group)of rat liver transplantation were established.Graft livers and host celiac lymph nodes(n=4)of each group were sampled respectively at day 3,5,and 7 after the transplantation.The acute rejection was graded according to liver histopathological changes.The dy- namic state of DC number within graft and lymph nodes was detected by means of immunohistochemi- cal staining and image analysis.T-cell active proliferative response in lymph nodes was also studied. Results The histological examination revealed that mild to severe rejection occurred on the post-opera- tive days 5 and 7.At day 3 after transplantation,the number of S-100~+ DC in allograft was signifi- cantly increased and reached the peak at day 5,then decreased gradually at day 7.A significant num- ber of S-100~+ cells was detected in the allogeneic host lymph nodes from day 3 after transplantation, and displayed a continuous increasing trend for next several days.Active proliferation of T cells in the lymph nodes was triggered as early as day 3 after transplantation.Conclusion Allogeneic liver trans- plantation induces the accelerated migration of DC within the allograft and host lymphoid nodes.DC delivers a strong and sustained stimulation among T cells in the lymphoid nodes where effector cells are predominantly sensitized and rejected the graft eventually.

Objective To study the expression and significance of miR-26a in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.Methods The expression of miR-26a in 46 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) tissues and peritumoral tissues was detected by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT PCR).The intrahepatic eholangiocarcinoma cell line HCCC-9810 and RBE were transfected with miR 26a mimics and miR 26a inhibitors,respectively,by lipofectamine 2000.The growth curves were constructed by the CCK 8 method.The migration and invasion ability was demonstrated by wound healing and transwell assay.The cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry.The potential mechanism was illustrated by Western blotting.Results For the 46 ICC tissues and peritumoral tissues,miR 26a levels were significantly higher in the tumor tissues than in the peritumoral tissues (P＜0.05).Vascular invasion,TNM Ⅲ～Ⅳ stage and lymph node metastasis were significantly associated with high miR 26a expression levels (P＜0.05),but gender,age,tumor amounts,tumor encapsulation,tumor diameter and tumor differentiation showed no significant association (P＞0.05).Enhanced cell proliferation,migration and invasion ability,accelerated G0/G1 phase to S phase transition,activated AKT by PTEN suppression were observed in HCCC-9810 cells with up regulation of miR-26a.Conversely,cell proliferation,migration and invasion ability was inhibited,G0/G1 phase was blocked and AKT was restrained by PTEN increase wkh down regulation of miR-26a in RBE cells.PTEN mRNA in versely correlated with the miR-26a level (r=-0.8272,P＜0.01).Patients with a high miR-26a expression had significantly poorer overall survival (P＜0.05).A high miR 26a exprcssion,multiple tumors and lymph node metastasis were independent prognostic factors of overall survival (P＜0.01).Conclusion Overexpression of miR-26a in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma correlated with clinicopath ological features and overall survival,and it potentially promoted tumor proliferation and metastasis through the PTEN/AKT pathway.

Objective To explore the prevalence of ETS gene fusion in prostate cancer and its correlation with patient's clinicopathologic index.Methods Ninety-one samples from prostate needle biopsy cases with median age 75 (55-90) years and 18 samples from radical prostatectomy cases with median age 72 (63-81) years were collected from Oct.2010 to Feb.2012.TMPRSS2-ERG,TMPRSS2-ETV1 and TMPRSS2-ETV4 fusions were tested by multi-probe fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay.Fusion positive and negative cases were compared with age,TNM stage,Gleason score (median Gleason score 7 (6-9)),and PSA value (median PSA 33.4 μg/L,mcan PSA 118.8 μg/L).In needle biopsy cases,there were early stage 32 (34％),locally advanced prostate cancer 36 (40％),metastasis 23 (26％) ; in radical prostatectomy cases,there were 9 cases in T2 stage,8 cases in T3 stage,1 cases in T4a stage,respectively.Results TMPRSS2-ERG fusions were present in 14.3％ (13/91,95％ confidence interval,0.071-0.215)biopsy specimens and in 11.1％ (2/18,95％ confidence interval,0-0.256) radical prostatectomy specimens.No TMPRSS2-ETV1 or TMPRSS2-ETV4 fusions were found in any cases.Altogether,13 (86.7％)cases possessed deletion pattern.And 7 (46.6％) hold insertion pattern.5 cases had both deletion and insertion pattern.38.5％ (5/13) deletion pattern had distant metastasis.Except one metastatic case harbored both deletion and insertion pattern,there was no insertion pattern accompanied with metastasis.There were no differences between fusion positive and negative cases in the distribution of age (P =1.000),PSA (P =1.138),primary Gleason score (P=2.186),Gleason score (P=2.107),TNM stage (P=2.052) and Risk Degree (P=2.597).Conclusions The TMPRSS2-ERG fusion positive cases harbor more deletion pattern than insertion pattern.There are no differences between fusion positive and negative cases in the distribution of age,PSA,Gleason score,TNM stage and Risk Degree.

Objective To evaluate the distribution of non-motor symptoms(NMS) and dominant factors impacting on the prevalence of NMS in Parkinson's disease(PD).
