1.Evaluation of Estrogenic Activity of DDE by MCF-7 Cell Proliferation Bioassay
Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(03):-
Objective To evaluate the estrogen activity of DDE by using MCF-7 cell proliferation bioassay. Methods The estrogen activity of DDE was tested by using the MCF-7 cell multiplication experiment in vitro and the mechanism was explored preliminarily through growth curve analysis. Results DDE showed an obvious estrogenic activity in the MCF-7 cell proliferation and the cell cycle analysis indicated that cell proliferation index in DDE group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Conclusion DDE has the estrogenic activity and the mechanism may be the same as that of E2,that is,binding with the estrogen receptor is the first step of the following biological effects.

International Eye Science 2006;6(3):523-526
AIM: To observe the expression of COX-2 in rat corneal neovascularization (CNV) and its relationship to CNV, and to explore the inhibition of Celecoxib, a COX-2 inhibitor, to CNV.METHODS: The distribution and quantification of COX-2and VEGF was detected by immunohistochemistry. Expression of COX-2 and VEGF mRNA was quantified by RT-PCR.The difference in protein and mRNA expressions of COX-2and VEGF was analyzed to find the correlation between them.RESULTS: Expression of activated COX-2 and VEGF protein and mRNA in CNV had a dynamic change. VEGF and COX-2co-localized. Compared with the control group, expression of both protein, mRNA of COX-2 and VEGF in experimental group Ⅱ and Ⅲ had significant difference (P<0.05), indicating the correlation between COX-2 and VEGF, while that in experimental group I had no statistical difference (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: COX-2 expression was up-regulated in inflammatory CNV. COX-2 modulates the expression of VEGF,playing a very important role in CNV. Celecoxib inhibit COX-2expression so as to hold back the CNV.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(1):229-234
Emotion recognition will be prosperious in multifarious applications, like distance education, healthcare, and human-computer interactions, etc. Emotions can be recognized from the behavior signals such as speech, facial expressions, gestures or the physiological signals such as electroencephalogram and electrocardiogram. Contrast to other methods, the physiological signals based emotion recognition can achieve more objective and effective results because it is almost impossible to be disguised. This paper introduces recent advancements in emotion research using physiological signals, specified to its emotion model, elicitation stimuli, feature extraction and classification methods. Finally the paper also discusses some research challenges and future developments.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2007;19(1):9-13,55
Objective Due to the incompleteness and complexity of fault diagnosis for power transformers, a comprehensive rough-fuzzy scheme for solving fault diagnosis problems is presented. Fuzzy set theory is used both for representation of incipient faults' indications and producing a fuzzy granulation of the feature space. Rough set theory is used to obtain dependency rules that model indicative regions in the granulated feature space. The fuzzy membership functions corresponding to the indicative regions, modelled by rules, are stored as cases. Results Diagnostic conclusions are made using a similarity measure based on these membership functions. Each case involves only a reduced number of relevant features making this scheme suitable for fault diagnosis. Conclusion Superiority of this method in terms of classification accuracy and case generation is demonstrated.

Objective To study the expressions of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) in tumor tissues and explore the effect of COX-2 and EGFR in NSCLC development. Methods The expression of COX-2 and EGFR was detected by immunohistochemical technique in 56 cases of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and in 20 cases of normal lung tissues. Results The expression of COX-2 and EGFR in NSCLC was significantly higher than that in normal lung tissues(P

Objective To explore achillis tendon-sliding procedure and subtalar joint capsula release by the same cut and individualization treatment used in the correction of congenital clubfoot. Methods Forty eight cases (76 feet) of congenital clubfoot who were first visit were treated by achillis tendon-sliding procedure and subtalar joint capsula release by the same cut, meantime, footplate fascia release and transfer of the anterior tibial tenden were made by individualization. Results All cases were followed-up,the average time follow-up was 1 year and 6 months, excellent were 71% and good were 15.7%.Five cases were recurrence and its rate was 6.94%.Conclusions Achillis tendon-sliding procedure and subtalar joint capsula release by the same cut can solve rotation of displacement between calcaneus and talus and individualization treatment can also solve high arch deformity and adduction of foot. This technique is a simple, safe and effective treatment for congenital clubfoot.

ObjectiveTo investigate the possible mechanism of common bile duct ligation (CBDL) preconditioning alleviating subsequent renal ischemia/reperfusion injury.MethodsC57BL/6 mice was divided into 3 groups. In CBDL group, the common bile duct was transiently ligated at day 0 (d0),and recanalized after two days (d2) and two days later (d4). Unilateral renal ischemia/reperfusion injury was performed.Sham operation was done in Sham group at d0,then unilateral renal I/R was performed at d4. Control group was set as normal contrast. Total bilirubin (TB) was monitored.24 h after I/R (d5),we collected blood to detect creatinine (Cr),and the expression of heat-shock protein 27 (HSP-27) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) was monitored by Western blotting at d0,d2,d4,d5 four time points.ResultsAfter CBDL,TB fell to normal at d4.Cr levels in CBDL group were lower than in Sham group (P<0.05),the protein expression levels of HSP-27 and eNOS were increased from d2 and sustained to d5 in CBDL group as compared with Sham group ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusion CBDL preconditioning can obviously alleviate renal ischemia/reoerfusion injury in mice probably by up-regulating the expression of HSP-27 and eNOS.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects of rosiglitazone(RH)on body weight,FPG,FFA and other indicators in diabe-tes model rabbit. METHODS:18 rabbits were evenly randomized into control group, model group and dextran group. The latter 2 groups were given alloxan intravenously to induce diabetes model. 3 groups were given RH(0.5 mg/kg)intragastrically,and dex-tran group was additionally given dextran 40 glucose injection(5 ml/kg)intravenously,once a day,for consecutive 3 weeks. Body weight, serum level of FPG,FFA,AngⅡ and NO were determined before and after medication. RESULTS:Compared with be-fore medication, body weight of rabbits in control group were increased after medication, while the levels of FFA and AngⅡ were decreased;the levels of FPG and FFA were decreased in model group;body weight of rabbits were decreased in dextran group af-ter medication, with statistical significance (P<0.01 or P<0.05);other indicators had no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). The level of FFA in dextran group was higher than in model group after medication, with statistical significance(P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:Rosiglitazone can lead to weight gain by a mechanism which reduce the level of FFA.
