1.How to establish a good acupuncture-moxibustion standard?.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(10):1031-1034
At the beginning of a standard item, the standardized objects and involved contents should be demonstrated thoroughly, which is the precondition of establishing a good standard. After the proposal of this standard, a high-level drafting group should be built, led by top specialists who also draft the standard, which is essential to guarantee the quality of the standard. Before drafting the standard, literature regarding this standard should be searched completely, and Directives for Standardization should be learned to understand the basic requirements of establishing a standard; in the meanwhile, selections on standardized contents and quantitative boundaries of technical indices should be comprehensively and deeply studied. At the stage of consultation, focus should be paid on the scope of the consultation departments, level and personnel quality. As for standard review, it should be precise and truth-seeking. At the stage of submitting and authorization, it is necessary to have timely communication. Only by full cooperations of all parties, and by strictly following the procedure, method and rule of standard establishment, can a high-quality acupuncture-moxibustion standard be established.

[Objective] To observe the preventive effect of Huanglian Jiedu Decoction (HJD), a prescription with the actions of clearing heat and removing toxicity, on rabbits atherosclerosis (AS) induced by Chlamydia pneumoniae (CP) infection. [Methods] Fifty two New Zealand rabbits were fed with forage containing 2. 5g/kg cholesterol and were infected with CP via nasopharynx for three times during 6 weeks. At the end of the sixth week, forty four rabbits with serum CP-IgG positive were randomized into 4 groups: group A treated with HJD 2g?kg-1 ?d-1 by gastric gavage, group B with HJD 1g?kg-1?d-1, group C with azithromycin 20 mg?kg-1?d-1 and model group D with normal saline for 6 weeks. Group E was set up in 8 rabbits fed with fatty forage and served as the control. Serum levels of high-sensitive C reactive protein (hs-CRP) and CP-IgG were detected before infection, after infection and after treatment. At the end of the 18th week, the rabbits were executed and the pathological features of aortic tissue were observed under microscope. Meanwhile, the expression of CP-DNA and tumor necrosis factor ?(TNF-?) in the aortic tissue was detected with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunohistochemical method respectively. [Results] At the end of the experiment, atherosclerotic changes were obvious in groups D and E, particularly in group D. Compared with group D, the atherosclerotic damage was much relieved, and AS indexes such as maximum intimal thickness (MIT), atherosclerotic damage percentage and plaque area index were much improved in groups A and C (P

Objective To investigate the cognitive condition in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Methods Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children IV (WISC-IV) was administered for 127 DMD patients aged 6~14 years from April, 2013 to December, 2015. The verbal intelligence quotient (VIQ), performance intelligence quotient (PIQ) and full-scale intelligence quotient (FSIQ) scores were analyzed. Results The FSIQ, VIQ and PIQ were (93.2±18.6), (91.5±18.9), and (96.6±19.5), respectively, which were lower than 100 in normal population (P<0.001), and higher than that of patients abroad in the previous studies (P<0.001). There were 13 patients (10.24%) whose scores of FSIQ were less than 70. The VIQ-PIQ discrepancy score was (-5.0 ± 16.6). Conclusion About 1/10 of Chinese DMD pa-tients impaire in cognitive function, which is significantly lower than that abroad. VIQ is more affected than PIQ.

OBJECTIVETo establish social stress induced depression-like model in mice of C57BL/6 strain, and to assess its reliability using differenf behavioral methods.
METHODSTotally 20 male mice of C57BL/6 strain were divided into the normal group and the stress model group by random digit table,10 in each group. Another 10 CD1 mice were subjected to social stress. Mice in the normal control group received no stress, while those in the model group received social stress for 10 successive days. Behavioral assessment was performed using social interaction test (SIT), the elevated plus-maze (EPM) test, tail suspension test (TST), respectively. Serum cortisol level was detected by ELISA to assess the reliability of the model.
RESULTSIn the social interaction test when the social target (CDI mice) was inexistent, mice in the normal control group spent longer time in the social interaction zone and less time in the corner zone (P < 0.05); mice in the model group spent less time in the social interaction zone and more time in the corner zone (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal group when CDI mice existed, mice in the model group spent less time in the social interaction zone and more time in the corner zone (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal control group, the total times for entry into open arms, close arms, and the maze were obviously reduced (P < 0.05), and the proportion of entering open arms was significantly reduced (P < 0.05) in the model group. In TST, the motionless time within the last 4 mm was prolonged in the model group (P < 0.05). The serum cortisol level in the model group was obviously elevated (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONSocial stress induced depression-like animal model in mice of C57BL/6 straineasquite reliable and possibly suitable to be used in integrative medicine research of combination of disease and syndrome model.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2016;22(2):146-149
Objective To compare the spatial learning and memory function of heat stroke rats in different periods, to explore the long-term impairment. Methods 42 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into heat stroke 7 days group (HS7, n=21), heat stroke 21 days group (HS21, n=21), and another 18 rats were performed femoral artery intubation as surgery control group (sham, n=18). They were tested with Morris water maze 7 days and 21 days after modeling respectively for 5 days. The escaping latency, the frequency of crossing the platform area and the duration in the target quadrant were recorded. Results Compared with the sham group, the escaping latency prolonged in HS7 group in all the time (P<0.05), and 4th and 5th days in HS21 group (P<0.05). Compared with HS7 group, the escaping latency short-ened in HS21 group on the 3rd, 4th and 5th days (P<0.05). The duration in the target quadrant shortened in HS7 group compared with the sham group (P<0.05), and prolonged in HS21 group compared with HS7 group (P<0.05). The frequency of crossing the platform decreased both in HS7 group and HS21 group compared with the sham group (P<0.05), and no difference was found between the later 2 groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The impairment of spatial learning and memory is the most seriously 7 days after heat stroke in rats, and it may remain for long time.
