1.Biomarkers for gastric cancer stem cells
Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(1):45-47
Some specific markers are useful of separating and identifying gastric cancer stem cells. They are including gastric stem cells, general tumor stem cells and mesenchymal tissue stem cells. At present, more and more new biomarkers are discovered besides familiar CD133 and CD44.Combined detection helps to separate pure gastric cancer stem cells and promote the therapy of gastric cancer.

Two lipase active fractions Lip1 and Lip2 were purified from the cell extract of Rhizopus chinensis CCTCCM201021.Both gave a single band on SDS-PAGE after using ammonium sulfate precipitation、Phenyl-Sepharose FF、DEAE-Sepharose FF and Sephadex G100 gel filtration chromatographies. The molecular masses of two lipases were 59.2kD and 39.4kD respectively.Lip1 and Lip2 showed optimal pH at 8.0 and 8.5 and their optimal temperatures were 40℃ and 35℃ respectively. The substrate specificity of the two lipases was obviously different.Lip1 was more specific to long chain fatty acid of p-nitrophenyl esters while Lip2 had a preference for the hydrolysis of short chain fatty acid of p-nitrophenyl esters.Lip1 had 1,3-position specificity for triacylglycerols hydrolysis while Lip2 had nonspecific position. Both lipases were stimulated by Ca 2+、Mg 2+ while SDS had strong inhibition on their activities.Lip1 and Lip2 had good stability in cyclohexane、hexane、heptane and isooctane(30% V/V).

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is one of the most common non-Hodgkin lymphomaaccounting for 30 %-40 %. The most common first-line therapy for DLBCL is rituximab in combination withchemotherapy. About two thirds of patients treated by the first-line therapy achieve a complete remission (CR)and are cured finally, but nearly one third of patients can not reach CR after frontline treatment appearingrefractory or relapse early, especially for the high risk patients or cases with MYC alterations, the regimenimproving the long-term survival is not much. In the 57th American Society of Hematology (ASH) annualmeeting, a plenty of treatment as focus on these patients brought in encouraging results, which makes itpossible to further improve the CR rate. The progresses on DLBCL of relapse and refractory, high risk andspecial types were summarized in this paper based on the reports in the 57th ASH annual meeting.

Objective To investigate the status of research and research utilization in practice among nurses of hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods Two hundred and sixty nurses of hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected to fill out the questionnaire. Results The rates of involvement of research activities and research utilization among nurses of hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were low.The score of every factor ranged from the higher to the lower were communication, organization, research and nurse. Conclusions Involvements of research activities and research utilization among nurses of hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine are insufficient. Most factors associated with nurses' low extent of research utilization are objective factors. It is pivotal for nursing managers to construct supportive professional environment, improve nurses' research and information skills and the capacity of the research utilization.

OBJECTIVE:To strengthen the management of dismounting drugs in hospital and improve pharmacist working effi-ciency by designing and mading an oral dispending desk. METHODS:In order to solve the small number of placing dismounting drugs induced by small capacity of the desk and disorder placement of placing medicines in inpatient pharmacy, our pharmacists de-signed a new kind of oral dispensing desk that can solve the above problems, produced it and put it in the daily clinical work. The application effects were evaluated by comparing the number of placing drugs and deployment time of medical orders before and af-ter applying it. RESULTS:The designed oral dispensing desk included square slots in the bench, round slots on the side, operating table,multi-panel drawer and ordinary drawer,in which, the first two parts could be used for placing drugs with different shapes and different sizes,multi-panel drawer could place oral liquid, granules, etc. The total number of placing drugs was increased from 237 to 290,and the average deployment time of each medical order was shortened from(4.55±0.38)s to(3.52±0.16)s. CON-CLUSIONS:Application of new dispensing desk has not only solved the limited capacity of the desk, disorderly placing dismount-ing drugs, being difficult to locate and manage and other problems, but also improved the deployment speed of pharmacists and promoted standardized management of dismounting drugs.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(06):-
AIM To examine the effects of lovastatin, probucol on the intracellular cholesterol content and cholesterol efflux. METHODS With the model of foam cells through depositing the oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OXLDL) into mouse peritoneal macrophages, intracellular cholesterol content was examined by high performance liquid chromatography after the administration of lovastatin and probucol at different concentration. RESULTS The CE/TC ratios of the model group were beyond 50% and extremely higher than those of the normal and negative groups, suggesting that the model of foam cells was established triumphantly. Lovastatin decreased intracellular TC, CE and CE/TC significantly and dose-dependently. Probucol also possessed such effects on intracellular TC, CE, but no dose-dependently, and no effect on the ratio of CE/TC. CONCLUSION The results showed lovastatin might be conducive to plagues stability by increasing cholesterol efflux from the foam cells and decreasing the intracellular cholesterol content. Probucol did not have this effect although it decreased intracellular TC and CE content.
